Charges great. Really plug and play. We already had a 50 amp outlet and level two charger at home. Now we can use it with our Tesla. It comes with a nice cloth bag so less likely to rattle around in your glove box, etc.

    • Adapter doesn’t lock. Still works great.

Works well but this adapter does not lock like the original does. With the original Tesla adapter, the adapter locks the 3rd party charger in place making it impossible for someone to pull it out. With this one, anyone can walk up and remove the charger from your car.

This adapter works exactly like the original OEM and according to the specifications, it can handle up to 80 Amps, which is more than the output of most J1772 chargers.

This charger head works as expected. It fits on well to the end of other chargers. My only problem, which is a problem I have had with all charger extensions is that you sometimes have to get the charger head out quickly before the Tesla door shuts. I got this adapter to carry with me at all times. I use my original adapter on my charging cable at home and hate having to remember to retrieve it when I travel. I tested this one and it worked perfectly (just like the OEM.)
