This is the Tesanfor obd2 scan tool. The photos show it after unboxing and screen images of using it on my F150. The listing provides a good description of its capabilities and features. The scan tool is well made with no defects or imperfections. The buttons all function in a positive manner, the data link cable is of adequate length to use, even as a passenger in the vehicle. The display screen is clear and easy to read. The tool is very simple to navigate to whichever test you want to perform. I tried it on my truck and it worked pretty well. I didn’t have any issues with my truck but I was able to go in and look at the different systems to test the functionality of the tool. As you can see in the images there is a good amount of test that you can perform in diagnosing a problem with your vehicle. Retrieving codes is relatively straightforward but the ability to look at the data stream is important. The mode 6 is useful for helping you find an intermittent problem that doesn’t set a code. The I/M ( inspection and maintenance ) readiness test would be very useful to people who have to go through vehicle inspection for the reason that the engine control system monitors must be complete to pass inspection. A couple of things I found a little disappointing with this tool is that it won’t perform an engine running test for faults that may be present with the engine running. Also it would not perform the 02 sensor tests. Ultimately I did find that this tool works well and would be very helpful in finding a concern with a vehicle. With today’s cars being computer controlled a scan tool like this is a must have item. I would recommend to most people to have a scan tool for their vehicle and this Tesanfor obd2 scan tool would be a good choice!

This OBDII Scanner lets you retrieve and erase fault codes stored in your vehicle's onboard diagnostic system. While it doesn't perform advanced diagnostic analyses, it effectively extracts error codes from the computer's memory, providing insight when the check-engine indicator illuminates on the dashboard. Compatible with 98% of vehicles manufactured post-1996 with an OBD2 port, it has a nice 2.8-inch display and draws power directly from the vehicle when plugged in, eliminating the need for batteries. In addition to code retrieval, this scanner shows data like VIN, battery voltage, O2 sensor readings, "readiness" status, and engine metrics. It can clear error codes from memory, thereby deactivating the check engine light. Unlike pricier, more advanced tools, this scanner lacks the capacity to reprogram CPU registers for performance enhancements or engine parameter alterations. However, this isn't its intended functionality. Its primary utility lies in providing accurate diagnostic information about your vehicle before you give a bunch of money to your automotive technician.

You got an expensive bi directional scanner? (If not then.... well this isn't that! So back to where I was going ......) Yes! So why would you be looking at this? Because when you have to clear a simple light or just quickly see what codes it has you're tired of going to grab the expensive scanner case, carrying a big tablet to the car, waiting for the dongle to make communication, then waiting to 'automatically identify vehicle' (then asks you to decode the vin for it systematically telling you the vin right above the choices! I hate my S-O Zeus with a passion! Never again!..... Anyway.....) Then finally scanning it and it's a p0456 like every OTHER CEL!, waiting for it to clear all fifty some modules in the vehicle!, unhook the dongle, then walking to the bench shutting it down, putting the scanner and dongle in it's little sheltered peanut butter fort and then putting the case away (or shutting the sliding cart top... If you made the same mistake I did!....) Just buy this stat! Grab it buried on the top of the tool cart (not the one the princess is in!) Carelessly mosey to the vehicle, shove the plug on and frantically hit 'ok,ok,ok,ok,ok' while it takes 3 seconds to actually 'automatically detect' the protocol..... Hit ok to read, see p045.... Immediately hit exit before even reading the entire code, hit the right key to toggle selection to clear codes and again frantically hit 'ok,ok,ok,ok,ok' while it takes 2 seconds to erase, it beeps to let you know it cleared (at least letting you know it "did a thing") but you don't care to read, yank the cord to disconnect, walk towards your cart and practice your cornhole bag toss technique (you know, right onto the pile of tools you just yanked up on the cord to unbury it from!) And pull the stupid car with it's stupid evap small leak (hey evap, maybe stop being so sensitive!) Out and move to the next vehicle! If you are still reading this and haven't just already ordered it then I guess I only have 1 thing left to say to you.... It's pretty small, it should fit in your purse!

Tried this for the first time since I received an error in my self leveling suspension. Plugged it in and followed the instructions. It didn’t show any error codes. Tried it multiple times with the same results. Seems useless in this case.
