I bought two of these cameras for use in monitoring our property. There is no web based setup and the initial install required the use of their app. However after initial setup I was able to connect the cameras to my Bluecherry DVR server as an onvif camera. They worked reasonably well for a short time until the app said there was a firmware update. After the firmware update the recording stream was corrupt and unusable. The seem to work correctly using their app and recording to an SD card but I was never able to get them to work again with my Bluecherry DVR server. I even tried them with Agent DVR with the same results. Agent DVR finds the camera and will identify the streams but the recordings are corrupt. Apparently there is no way to revert to the original firmware. ... show more

    • Depends on your needs
I already have Nest cams but with prices going up, I am looking at alternatives. This camera is very inexpensive and the quality of the optics is good. Not great, just good for the price. It depends on what you need. First, the camera has a very good, sharp color picture. Equal to or better than the Ones that I have now. However just like with cameras of these types, motion is difficult. You can easily identify a person walking through the frame if you know them, but try to pause it and take a screen shot for the police, and it will be blurry if more than 10 feet from the camera. Many inexpensive (non+professional $$) cameras have the same issue. Next, notifications. I set up the notifications within the app but not on my phone. I didn’t want to provide a lot of personal information. I set it to record only people and it did work. When set to record everything else, even at low settings I got lots of tree branches moving. So it’s not too smart. You can set it to send notifications every 1 min, 2, 5, 10, 30 mins etc. The cord is about 10’ long. Want to steal the camera or disable it. Just walk up and rip it off of the wall. With my nest cams, they are high up on the roof and get power because Nest provides very long cords. Battery powered and solar powered are the way to go these days. (Although you will need to go up on the roof to replace or recharge batteries unless you have a small solar panel for them, buy I digress….). The camera is able to save to the cloud, but again I was not comfortable providing an unknown company a lot of personal access. I use Nest (Google) who always has my privacy top,of mind. (Wink). I used a 64gb memory card for local storage. It worked fine. These cheap microSD cards can store a lot! What I did not like most though was the app. It’s just not intuitive enough for me. Learning which page to go to, it seemed awkward. I suppose you would get used to it. I could design it better. All in all, the camera has a lot of good points. If you have power available, and you’re looking for general security these will do the trick. I will say that the camera notifications are pretty quick. For the price, pretty good. Not great. Update: 25 notifications last night for a person in the yard. Turned out to be bugs, trees, and our dog who went potty twice in the backyard. I can’t recommend this. ... show more

The picture is pretty clear and looks great. It was really easy to set up. I think I’m going to get a couple more. Very satisfied. Update to review: I do like the camera and it works great. However, even on being set on human detection and sensitive. I still get a lot of alerts that are nothing. It’s always bugs flying or other tree motion. So since I get so many alerts about that it’s hard to comb through them to actually review what I need to. ... show more
