I used this Tenax poultry fence to block the rails on my balcony to prevent my dog from falling through. It is super sturdy and good quality. I secured it to the railing with zip ties. It is somewhat stiff because it is a sturdy, thick material, but it bends enough to mold it around balcony rails without much effort. It is easy to cut with a decent pair of scissors. You can definitely secure your balcony with less thick, and less expensive materials, like a light mesh, but I prefer this poultry fence because it is a lot more sturdy than the mesh and fabric material advertised to use on patio rails, so I have no worries whatsoever that my dog will slip out. In fact, after I did my first balcony I had to buy more material to finish my second one, which is longer. This poultry fence was going to take a few extra days to ship and I wanted it right away, so I bought the Tenax multipurpose plastic netting instead as it delivered the next day. While that worked also, it wasn’t anywhere near the sturdiness of this poultry fence. And it had a lot more space (“holes”) in between the plastic material. I did use it and it works too, but I just really prefer the thickness of the poultry fence for peace of mind. As shown in my photos, the poultry fence blends into railings well and doesn’t block the view. So if you’re got balcony railings you need to secure for your dog’s or cat’s safety, put this in your cart right now and get it, there’s no need to look further. This is the best stuff.

11/10 would buy again! I don't have to worry about my cat getting though the bars anymore. She and I still get a good view, all the breezes and I get a peace of mind with this on my patio. It's very flexible so I was able to get it up to the corners very closely. Only thing I wish is I could have gotten it more taut. I put it on my patio all by myself so I recommend having someone help you pull it and hold it down as you fasten each section! It's everything I was looking for, safety and don't have to worry about rusting since it isn't metal. I've looked at and tried many fences BUY THIS ONE! Best value and quality option you can find!

We've bought a roll of this twice so far. Once, we used it for gardening purposes, and the last time to puppy-proof a wrought iron fence. Both times it has worked really well. It can be cut with scissors, and we used zip ties to attach it. The plastic is heavy, and the fencing is durable and well-made. Nothing flimsy about this, yet it is easy to work with.

I have a backyard garden with raised beds and an abundance of squirrels. The squirrels love to dig up areas that are newly planted, they steal the green been seeds, they nibble spinach down to the ground, etc. I use this mesh to cover the beds to keep the squirrels out and give the plans time to become established. We also had a problem this past summer with the squirrels taking ripe tomatoes (didn't believe it until I saw one going up a tree with a tomato). The stakes we were using to support the tomatoes were just ladders for the squirrels. We surrounded the plants with the mesh fencing using the garden stakes and saved many of the tomatoes. The squirrels don't seem to want to go inside of the mesh plus can use twine to tie it shut at the top. It can be a bit difficult to handle because it's rolled up and wants to stay in that form and it's thick. I use a pair of shears that will cut through thin metal to make easy work of trimming to the size needed. Overall a good buy that has saved our plants.

I use these as pest control over vegetables (mostly against birds and squirrels). They work decent. I previously used some from the orange or blue store, forget which, and these seem to be just a tad better in quality, in my opinion. They are bit on the expensive side for what they are, but since you can reuse them year after year, I just roll them up in the fall and store them until spring, so it's somewhat of a long term investment.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect! I had a fence built and needed to keep my very small dogs in the yard. My yard has slight variations which left gaps along to bottom of the new fence where my dogs could have escaped so I bought this and using zip ties I attached it to the bottom of my new fence. It works and it looks great! I plan to use this elsewhere around the garden to make climbing lattice panels. Lots of other uses that I’m sure I’ll come up with. Great stuff. Easy to cut with scissors. You can uses zip ties or a staple gun to affix into place. I’ve even used it with garden stakes to keep the dogs from digging in my freshly tilled soil after putting my garden to bed for the winter.

The media could not be loaded. I actually bought this while trying to come up with a solution to turn our front porch into a catio, since the cats will no longer stay in the fenced backyard like they were. While my catio attempts were a fail (mostly due to technical logistics, not this product), I did leave this up on the porch. It somehow manages to provide a little more privacy, while filtering out a little bit of sunlight, and keeps the birds off the porch. I ended up gating off the porch for our dogs, and this makes me feel confident that they wont jump over the railing if they see something they want to get to. I moved a bunch of my more sun-sensitive plants to the porch as well, and this helps to protect them from the birds as well. It is strong enough, but I'm sure if something tried to forecefully get through it, it would not stop it. I zip tied the top and bottom edges (which seems to have thicker plastic) and the cat even crawled up it and it did not tear through.
