Analyzed accuracy-its a winner!
Size: Four Probes
Having tried one wifi, and several bluetooth wireless thermometers, this is the ONLY one that works, and it is accurate. Atttached are two photos checking calibration and probe-tracking. Thfirst ohoto shows all 4 probes in a bowl of ice and water, while set in Celsius readout mode. In a perfect wirld they would all read 0 deg C. Reading eother 1or 2 is just fine as therno probes typically are less accurate at the ends of their ranges. The lowest temp I will be working at is 80F or so, for cold-smoking Lox salmon. As for the high end, i poured boiling water into a coffee cup which cooled it 20 degrees (now set to Fahrenheit) and notice how the probes match! Again, within a degree or 2. None of the multiprobe thermometers I have tested were within 3 degrees and some were 5F apart with one occasionally reading 50F high! If I was smoking a cabinet full of fish and saw that, I would freak out that the chips caught fire baking my precious food! As for the distance this works, i havent tested the range, other than maybe 50 feet. Since my smokehouse id about 200 feet from the house, the 1000-ft range of this thermometer should be perfect! Plusses: A. The range (if as stated) is excellent! I need at least 250ft and thats well within the specs. B. Bright backlighting, nice readable displays C. Each channel has an alarm, can be different. This is great for a smoker when you want to monitor the cabinet temperature. Chips sometimes catch fire or go out and extra probes monitor top and bottom of the cabinet and inside two meat locations all with alarms. D. Frequent updates, every few seconds so nothing “gets away from you”! Things I am not thrilled with: A. This is a BIG one-I wish it did GRAPHING of temperature (much easier to implement on a phone with a graphical display). Seeing temperature trends in any kind of cooking or smoking is incredibly helpful, and I miss this from some other thermometers I have used with Bluetooth, though frequent dropouts plagued those units, and I hated that. B. I really wish this was a wifi device using an app on my iPhone, it’s just so much simpler to not have to carry a phone and the receiver. I have wifi all over my 1.5 acres. 2. The wires are not super rugged and tend to kink. The spools for them mostly prevent probe wire storage tangles, and are helpful. ***All in all, this is an excellent thermometer, especially for smoking, and the price is reasonable! ... show more

Poor Man's Pellet Grill alternative
Size: Four Probes
Have used 5+ times and am very satisfied. I cook outside to save on heating up the house. (Which is significant since the A/C is broken and will remain as such for the foreseeable future.) Can't currently afford one of the fancy easy bake oven pellet grills, so I'm running a barrel grill/smoker without a side box. Range is great, operation is easy enough once you read the instructions and play with it a bit, alarm is sharp enough to wake you up when you accidentally nod off waiting on a cook that's going long. Can't speak to the longevity of the probes and wires yet, but there are four probes and with the way I cook, it essentially means I have 3 spares if the first one wears out. (Tip: You don't need a probe in the meat for the entire cook, just towards the end. This may help probes last longer as they're not exposed to as much heat as long and as often, which may help extend overall life.) Haven't used with my Weber kettle yet, just the barrel grill/smoker. I could see the tighter fitting lid of a Weber kettle causing wear on probe wires over time. Best feature of all, absolutely no wifi, Bluetooth, blood rights of your first born, Disney-esque terms and conditions allowing access to your phone and Facebook and bank accounts, etc etc. are necessary to use this item. Came with the standard off brand, low-end batteries like you get with TV remotes, etc. which means you can use it right away. Takes Triple A batteries, so very easy to replace with name brand when the included ones wear out. Hardest part about using this system is remembering not to touch the probes bare handed when they've been in the cook chamber... but that's what the Army would call "a self correcting deficiency" to begin with. 10/10 would buy again. I have 17 pounds of pork in the smoker right now, and I'm about to mow 4 acres without worrying about babysitting the smoker temps because I'll have the receiver unit in the cup holder of the mower. ... show more

For serious BBQ cooks I think the TP 826B is the way to go.
Size: Two Probes
I've literally tried dozens of meat thermometers, and what works best for my smoker is the ThermoPro TP 826B. It has the best design and the most features. I'm also a fan of wireless probe meat thermometers, but they can sometimes be unreliable for long smokes if the probe isn't fully charged. The TP 826B solves that and much more, it has advantages over even the best wireless probe meat thermometers. Most wireless meat thermometers require you use an "app", and both Wi-Fi and bluetooth. The TP826B transmits between the base and the remote with radio frequency or RF. This pretty much eliminates connectivity issues compared to bluetooth and even WiFi. It just works. With the TP 826B you don't need to download any apps, log in, sign up, or pair your phone. You don't need a phone whatsoever, I really, really like that! Also, you get a nice clear LCD for both the probe base and the large LCD remote that you can set near you, no having to turn on your phone to see the temp. Or, if you walk up to your smoker you can view the temps from the probe base, you don't have to carry the large display around. On the large LCD, there's an always displayed count down/count up timer in addition to the temperatures. The LCD is so easy to read, you can both monitor time and temp at a glance. Also, each probe has the ability to set alarms for both high and low temperatures in what they call "BBQ" mode. It's fantastic for monitoring meat that is done, that you need to rest. For example, when smoking a pork butt, and you've finally hit your high temperature alarm that you've set (195°F for mine), the meat needs to rest. You need to allow the pork to slowly cool down and relax, naturally, at its own pace. This thermometer is perfect for that. It takes the guesswork out of when the meat's ready to pull by allowing you to set a low temp alarm. No more guessing. It's easy to use too, with an intuitive design, and I like that fact that it uses AAA batteries instead of rechargeable batteries. I'm sick of having to charge everything in my life and make sure that it's charged. AAA batteries last a very long time in this device, but if they do happen to run out during a cook (not likely) all is not lost, you can easily replace them and not skip a beat. That goes for the probes as well, if one of the wired probes ever fails (outside the warranty), they are inexpensive and easy to replace. Overall, the TP 826B is pretty inexpensive for all it does. If I do ever buy another wireless probe, I'm buying ThermoPro's TP 862B. It's similar to the 826B with the same big LCD monitor but wireless probes. For now, the TP 826B is all I need. One tip, mind the probe wires, doing so will keep you from accidentally dropping the probe remote. When you are ready to start your cook, 1) place the meat in the cooker (wherever it will sit), 2) insert the probe into the meat, 3) plug into the remote. When your food is done, do the reverse, unplug the probe from the remote first before moving the hot item. To sum it up, this is a great tool that makes BBQ and smoking meat easier. ThermoPro thought of everything with this thermometer. ... show more

Easy, accurate with four temperature probe capability.
Size: Four Probes
I have been using the two probe, version TempPro for three years and purchased this upgrade based on my experience. Opened this yesterday and used it for a 12 hour cook. Set up is super easy, and my preference is having a unit separate from my phone to monitor the temperature. The 9lb pork butt was spectacular, with multiple probes used and it appears to be very accurate. Again, this is personal preference and not a knock on wireless versions of these types of products. It is worth the money and a sound investment if you don't mind this version. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

Better than what I had before
Size: Four Probes
I had a competition version where it had the Grill temp and Meat temp only, when cooking two pork butts from Costco, you had to guess the temp of the other. This one has 4 probes to measure, so it is nice to be able to monitor both butts. I use one for the Grill temp and the other 3 for the meat temps. I really like the monitor and have had no issues with the loss of signal and getting them to "see" each other. The old one I had to fight it, and would loose the signal just down in the basement where it was just outside. This one work with no issues of connectivity. The downside is knowing (remembering) which probe is the color. The probes have a different color that matches the port on the outside unit. Now the receiver does not have the colors with it, just the probe numbers. So the color doesn't really do a whole lot in that sense. Not a big deal, but be nice to use color on the receiver. Would I buy again, yes. I've had no issues, but this is written after 2 uses. ... show more

Very convenient, monitor your backyard grill from the garage !!!
Size: Four Probes
TempPro TP829 1000ft Wireless Meat Thermometer - 4 Meat Probes: I purchased this Model No: TP829B with 4 color coated probes in Sept, 2025. I really like this thing. I've recommended it to several people. It has really helped me keep track of what's on the grill so I can get other things done at the same time. Just awesome. I can prepare beef, pork and chicken at the same time and monitor temps on all three items. The preset meat temps is a very nice feature. I don't have to keep looking up the correct temperatures. The built in alarms tell me when something is done and I can adjust those temps if necessary. Just awesome. The display is easy to read and the temperatures update every few seconds. Having said that, after 5 months, 2 of the probes are having problems. 1 has completely quit. The 2nd is very intermittent and the temp fluctuates quite a bit. I'm thinking that putting them in the meat with the grill lid closed is not a good idea. I try to grill under 350 oF, but still, closing the lid might not be healthy for the probes. The included user guide says not to use the probes above 572 oF. The unit comes with a 1 year warranty and I've emailed the company to see if the probes are covered under warranty I've had a Weber iGrill probe for nearly 15 years and I've only had to replace the probe 1 time using it with the grill lid closed. So, we'll see. Overall, I'm really pleased with this Thermprobe kit with 4 temp probes. Update - I emailed ThermPro and discovered the kit including probes are covered by a 1 year warranty that can be extended to a 3 year warranty by simply registering the product. ... show more

TempPro TempSync is a Game Changer vs My Pit Boss 850 DX Temp Probes
Size: Four Probes
Outstanding product right out of the box. Smoked a 16 lb brisket overnight, I was able to set the checkpoint temp (probe 1) and monitor for a fire (probe 2) on my new Pit Boss 850DX pellet smoker without a hitch. The cook took 17 hours from yesterday and I slept the whole night. The temp was spot on and the brisket came out wonderful. I mention a new Pit Boss 850 DX, the concept is there but their WIFI connected app disconnects all the time, even when I'm sleeping - horrible / not good. With the TempPro 4 probe I can carry it all over my house without issues and the program settings for high and low temp monitoring is a breeze to setup and works!! I recommend. ... show more
