Description

The TempPro TP450 infrared temperature gun is not designed for taking the temperature of the human body. Do not use this surface thermometer as a medical device to measure external/internal body temperatures (e.g. forehead/oral). The readings for humans will be incorrect. TempPro TP450 is a non-contact ir thermometer gun that safely takes surface temperature of objects which are dangerously hot or cold. Featuring a 16:1 distance-to-spot ratio & built-in dual laser pointers, this temp gun thermometer allows users to measure from a farther distance with high precision. With its adjustable emissivity of 0.1 to 1.0, this infrared temperature gun gauges the temps of various materials with an accuracy up to ±1.5%, perfect for diverse home and industrial uses. Equipped with dual laser pointers and a 16:1 distance-to-spot-size ratio, this lazer thermo gun gives quick and accurate results just by pointing at an object. Built-in highly sensitive sensors gives the thermometer gun for cooking a 0.5-second response time within an accuracy of ±1.5%. Capable of measuring a wide temperature range between -58°F and 1022°F, this infared thermometer allows users to measure the surface temperatures of objects from above boiling point to below freezing point, making it perfect for non-contact temperature measuring of icy water, air leaks, out-of-reach air-conditioners, boiling soup, and more. Check the maximum, minimum and average temperatures from your last scan by simply pressing the ‘Mode’ button on the heat thermometer gun. Review these readings to better diagnose any problems with your AC vents, oven, or car engine. For more accurate measurements, use this feature to adjust your temperature gun and to better compensate for different surfaces. For your reference, we’ve included a table of emissivity values in the user manual.

Great to measure SURFACE/EXTERNAL food temperature (for INTERNAL readings, need probe)
Style: 2-Laser & D:S 16:1
I just got this today and have only used it to check the temperature of my oven, but it confirmed what I had expected: the temperature of my oven is off and unbalanced. I had suspected this because what I baked or warmed up took much longer than the recipes said was needed for baking, but this nifty dual laser temperature gun -- it is a gun so don't point it at anyone, especially the eyes, it will blind you or others quickly and permanently -- works very easily. One can not only check the temperature easily by a simply point, squeeze, release, and read the measurement, but the device has a memory of the minimum and maximum temperature readings, so you can target different spots of the oven and assess where it is hottest, coldest, or most consistent. It also allows you to see how far the temperature has dropped after you've opened your oven to check what's inside. Advice: don't open your oven often to check what is inside or the temperature will drop. I still have to wait to see if this device holds up well over time or will fall apart, but from initial impression, it seems like a really nice temperature to read SURFACE temperature (e.g. the temperature of the inside of an oven (but not meat or fish temperature; for internal temperature of food one must always use a food thermometer with a probe that sticks into the food). the temperature of oil you are using to fry chicken, etc. (so that the temperature doesn't overheat and burn your food because the oil is too hot, and/or, the oil gets hotter than that specific oil is designed for and hence becomes carcinogenic or transforms into a trans fat oil even though it was originally a non-trans fat oil. Aside: oils that have exceeded their hot point that they were designed for develop hydrogenated molecules, thereby converting the previous non-trans-fat oil into trans fat. If you burn even past this point, the oil not only has become trans fat but also becomes carcinogenic. there are other uses for this SURFACE/EXTERNAL HEAT food thermometer, but remember, you'll need a different thermometer to read the INSIDE/INTERNAL HEAT temperature of food (meat, fish, desserts, etc.). Now I can adjust my oven so that what I bake in the oven is actually the precise temperature the recipe says it should be. for example, my oven is about 30-40 degrees colder than what the temperature says it is, so if I wish to cook at 350 degrees, I now know, thanks to this surface temperature thermometer after taking several readings of the oven temperature that I should set my oven to 380 degrees in order for my oven to bake at the actual 350 degrees recommended by the recipe. To draw an analogy from flying planes, in flying there is TRUE air speed (how fast the plane is actually flying) versus AIR SPEED (as it appears on your speed dial (which is affected by tail winds, head winds, altitude, how heavy the plane is loaded, etc.). In cooking, their is similarly OVEN TEMPERATURE (as the heat dial indicates) versus TRUE OVEN TEMPERATURE (what this easy-to-use device provides you if you use it as instructed). And do read (and keep) the instruction booklet that comes with the device; it tells you what 16 different parts of your ThermoPro food gun does. It does come with batteries and even has a battery gauge that visually shows you the energy status of the battery. ... show more

Easy! Reliable.
Style: 2-Laser & D:S 16:1
Easy to use. Someone complaining about the A/C not working? Point it at the vent and show them the -18 degree difference between the vent air and the room temp. Voila!

Nice upgrade
Style: 2-Laser & D:S 16:1
This was a replacement for an older model that I can’t find after a move. The dual beams give you a bigger area comparison and averaged together to give more accurate results. Personally I didn’t like the IR on as it is hard to know for sure exactly what you are on target of. Gun feels fairly solid and is lightweight. Not sure how it would hold up after a decent size drop. Trigger feel is good and temperature is reported fast. I don’t have a problem with the unit continuing to measure temperature after trigger was released like reported a few places online. Would be nice to have a storage bag but I guess for the price I can’t complain. I would buy again. ... show more

Very useful Kitchen Gadget!
Style: 2-Laser & D:S 16:1
I recently got my hands on the ThermoPro TP450 Dual, and it's quickly become one of my favorite kitchen gadgets. It's super easy to use and feels really well-made, which is always a plus. I've been using it for both cooking and my pizza oven, and it's been performing great. The buttons and functions are pretty intuitive, and the detailed manual is a big help if you need it. One thing I really love is the fast readout speed—no more waiting around to see if my food is at the right temperature. That said, the battery life could use some improvement. It doesn't last as long as I'd hoped, but it's a minor inconvenience considering how well the thermometer works overall. All in all, the ThermoPro TP450 Dual is a solid tool for any cooking enthusiast. I definitely recommend it! ... show more

A very useful tool!
Style: 2-Laser & D:S 16:1
This is a very nice tool! I bought it to use with my Blackstone griddle, but it can be used in any application where you need to measure temperature without contact. I checked it against various thermometers I have, and it varied just a degree or 2. I don't have certified piece of test equipment to compare it to, but for most needs it will be great! ... show more

Finally Stopped Guessing – My Eggs Thank Me
Style: 2-Laser & D:S 16:1
I bought the TempPro TP450 dual-laser temperature gun mostly for cooking, and I’m already wondering why I didn’t get one years ago. If you cook on stainless steel pans, a griddle, or a Blackstone, this thing is fantastic. First off, the dual lasers are actually useful. They show you the exact area the thermometer is reading, which is way better than a single dot where you’re guessing where the measurement really is. It makes checking pan temps quick and accurate. I mainly bought it to figure out the right temperature for cooking eggs in my stainless All-Clad pan (which can be… unforgiving). Turns out I had been cooking way too hot. Now I can see the pan surface temp in seconds and hit the sweet spot instead of playing the “too cold / too hot / egg welded to pan” game. It’s also going to be great for my Blackstone griddle to find hot spots and dial in burger and pancake temps. A couple other things I liked: • Very easy to use – point, pull the trigger, instant reading • Bright screen and clear numbers • Solid build quality • Price is great for what you get And the shipping was ridiculously fast – ordered it and it showed up the next morning. Bonus: I’ve already used it to prove to my wife that “medium heat” is not the same on every burner. Science wins. If you cook a lot and want to take the guesswork out of pan temperature, this little tool is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended. ... show more

Good for finding home problems in unreachable places and checking temps anywhere.
Style: 2-Laser & D:S 16:1
My husband and I had a lot of fun with this checking the temps of the driveway, lawn, concrete, asphalt and dashboard during a heatwave. Of course it’s much more useful in checking your house for flaws, but those are rarely as dramatic. I was planning to buy a sweet little house in the country, but the inspector showed me temp readings on the bathroom floor. The heat variant indicated the tub was about to fall through the waterlogged floor boards. So it saved me from a $125,000 mistake (a decade ago). Easy to use, battery life long. Sturdy. ... show more
