This is my second ladder of this type - they are very convenient for me being 5'3" my opportunity to use ladders seems to be abounding everywhere i turn, lol. These are so portable so easy to throw in the vehicle carry up and down my property - I really appreciate the ability to easy get it where I need it and set it up quickly. While nowhere near as versatile as A frame ladders - most of the time this can be a major pain to finagle into a tight space and often will not even have room to open once you get there. These ladders defiantly need a wall or other sturdy no movable surface to lean against so - not going to replace you're a frame ladder. They are useful for accessing my loft areas in my sheds and are often used there as well as all over the property to hang light. trim trees - clean window and more. So now - the biggest differences between this extendable and my first one is this one is thinner, heavier, has smaller footprint and the rungs are smaller in depth. What this translates to in action is as follows - it has less flex at the joints -every rung that collapses being a joint, The small footprint (and less angle d rubber foots) makes it sit nicer in less slanted positions- this more upright thing is great when trapping to tree or something but on slippery surfaces like our living room on LVP with nothing to tie off to I was kind of nervous and slanting it more felt like it would be on the side of the foot - where my other one has large slanted rubber feet on two sides and feels more stable When slanted, plus has a brace that can contact the wall which I miss with this one i must admit. Next the rungs the narrow depth rungs likely not a problem mostly but in the wrong shoes or with no hoes (don't judge me - in my living room I will climb a ladder without shoes on - it happens - on my first one it's no problem and most any a frame ladder it's no problem. This ladder felt like climbing the wrong side of the A-frame ladder - which may add to why I feel more nervous on this one than my other one, If I Could only have one - I would probably go for my first one overall( the rubber feet are bigger better , rungs are bigger better and with the stabilizer bar I feel more secure than just having less play in the joints so - yes - While I like this one and don't mind its extra few oz. the other things especially the wall brace and rubbing size make it feel more steady - I feels more comfortable so I can get more done faster. This one is more compact and thinner and looks really nice though - I enjoy using it still and will likely get over most of these issues by using it more often. They currently reside at two different houses, so they are each the most convenient ladder of the lot at either address! I would recommend either one of them -extendable in general - I do recommend - one with a wall brace really is useful though and It you wear softer shoes or 🫣no shoes sometimes - i must say look for deeper rungs - these hurt the arch of my foot on crocs even - omg I can hear people going WHY ARE YOU IN CROCS OR barefoot on a ladder- Former gymnast 👋 I feel more balanced with my feet free + we all have decorated the house on a ladder with no shoes at some point ....right?
