It does feel like it is solidly built and will be sturdy but this is kind of heavy to haul around and being bulky already it wouldn't be easy enough to carry onto a roof which is one thing I was considering when getting it. It seemed to me that it would work well as a ladder base on the stairs but not really for use on a roof. The grip strips which are stapled to the corners have lots of rubber fingers to grip the roofing but I don't imagine they work very well. The rubber is not soft enough to settle in on roofing surfaces and would seem to perform about as well as normal gripping shoes on laminate shingles.

I ended up not needing to use this, but they looked very sturdy. I would be comfortable placing on a roof and putting a ladder on them. Also doubles as a ladder accessory hooks on and can place power tools, hammer, pain brushes etc in the storage cubby
