Replaced my ~3 year old Toshiba Fire TV in the garage gym that was driving me nuts. TV was painfully slow (always a lag when navigating menus, apps, etc...), with the apps (if I was impatient & kept pressing buttons), frequently crashing/redirecting me back to the home screen. Then..., there's the remote. Who puts the Home Button in the location your thumb would expect the ok/play button to be? I'd accidently press Home trying to resume a paused movie/show & would have to go through the arduous process of launching the app, which could easily take several minutes. Now, onto the TCL... I've never heard of TCL, but stumbled across the brand when looking for a Fire TV alternative (filtering for native support for AirPlay). It would've been awesome if the TV supported Chromecast as well (I'm an Android user), but at least the daughters will be able to cast to the TV w/ their iPhone's when working out in the garage. Ported all the apps I was running on the Fire TV to the Roku (seemed a bit quicker to add/install), uplinked SPDIF out to my Surround Sound & voila! 1080P looks amazing (vs the 720p Toshiba), but even better, the TV is very snappy (navigating/exiting/launching apps), even powering off/on is damn near instant (TV immediately updated as well, once Internet was accessible). My only complaint is that the TV is mounted up high, under overhead storage in the garage (you have to tilt your head up to see the TV), but the remote requires you point directly at the TV (not just in the vicinity). If remote isn't pointed directly at the TV, then it will not respond at all. So far, this is my only gripe, but I'll deal with it considering picture quality is outstanding vs the previous TV, onboard audio (I can't comment, considering I disable/output audio directly to my surround sound) & more importantly, the OS/Navigation is very snappy/no complaints YET... ... show more

Roku tv fit my parents tv furniture exactly. They can watch spectrum tv app on Roku without a cable box now. TCL is amazing the apps respond and install quickly. Great image quality and easy set up for me.

I was looking for an easy to use bedroom tv with an easy to access sleep timer as well as my streaming apps. This TV checks all the boxes. The picture quality is excellent. The sound quality is good for a 32 inch tv.
