We bought this TV after much debate and reading reviews on several different products. We never had a smart TV before and were worried about connectivity, visuals, and ads. Connectivity: it connected to our wifi no problem! It says you can screen share, but don't get too hyped up for that feature. Screen sharing apparently is a known issue with roku and other smart tvs and is a hit or miss if they work. I have disney+, hulu, amazon, and you tube we use regularly with hbo connected to my Amazon. All work great once you sign in. I highly reccomend using the "sign in through other device" option. It is way faster as typing is slow as with any TV. We have yet to get the "screen share" option to work, and yes we tried looking it up. It is an EXTREMELY well known problem that roku can't fix I checked newer models and they are the same. Hit or miss on working. It isn't a deal breaker for us, just a bonus if it worked. My boyfriend figured out how to do the YouTube sign in. Something about signing in via computer or phone and you control it that way. A little like the sign in of the other movie apps, but with extra steps. We have hooked up our Switch to it and it works fine. The free "cable" is a nice bonus. Wich leads me to ads. Ads: We pay for no ads on all our streaming services. The ONLY time we noticed any is on the screen saver, and when you are watching the free ROKU channels/cable they provide with the TV. They are subtle on some of the screen savers we have seen and can be cute how they put it in. In regards to the actual ads in the free "cable". It is same amount you would get if you actually watched cable. No more, no less. We have yet to explore all the options in the free roku tv section. They have a wide variety of shows available on it. If you can't afford subscriptions and still need a TV. I reccomend this feature. It is free and all you need to do is sign into a roku account (free). It does have a "premium" option, but I don't pay for it. Visuals: It looks great! It says you can somehow stream games onto it, but that is a later thing for us. It looks great on my TV shows, sounds awsome too! We keep it at 25-30 volume because it gets LOUD. We have it in our living room, but will definitely get another for our other rooms! Looks fantastic! We bought a tilting TV mount to use and it works great with this. I would advise to get something similar as it will let you angle the TV so everyone in the room can see, regardless where they are. Overall BEST purchase I made on amazon to date and Love this. I will update if it ever breaks. Also we bought our 65" for about $400-450 with tax. I bought this pretty much exclusively for use with a Playstation 5. I couldn't be happier. For the longest time, my old non-4k TV limited me to playing in regular hd. Going to 4k is a huge difference. Also going from a 42" to a 65" was life-changing. It's a physically big tv for sure, but I'm glad I got it vs the 55". Games feel so much more immersive now. My only real concern is that because it's so thin there's not a lot of support for such a giant screen on its tiny legs. If I lived somewhere earthquake-prone, or had kids/pets, I'd probably find some other way to make sure it doesn't get bumped, because while it took two people to put in place, it wouldn't take a lot to push it over. Initial setup took a while. Connect to wifi, then create/login to a roku account (I had one from another older roku tv). Then it updates the firmware, and downloads a bunch of tv apps that I'll never use. After about 20 minutes, the tv was finally usable. I told it how to name my inputs, and selected 'playstation' and it flipped hdmi input, and setup 'game mode' which aiui has something to do with brightness/color settings. for ~$400 I can't complain about a thing with this tv.     • Poorly designed gap at edge of screen causes easy damage

I'm giving this tv 1 star because of a glaring design issue with the build of screen assembly that leaves it bizarrely vulnerable to fatal damage. Details below. Yesterday morning I went to measure the width of my TV after a move, to plan room organization. The tape measure effortlessly found purchase and caught in a small gap between the screen and outer casing of the TV, immediately shorting out the corner of the screen before I even realized what had happened. I now have a 1x1.5 inch square of dead pixels in the top left, an entire horizontal band across the top of the TV that appears glitchy, and as of the following morning the entire picture flickers pretty badly. I won't lie, I loved this TV until this moment. Had no problems with it till now. But this is really, really bad design. I checked every other TV in our apartment and none of them have this gap seemingly tailor made to catch the metal tab on a tape measure and ruin the entire screen in an instant. I've had this TV barely over a year and it's shot, from the common act of attempting to measure it. I work in custom picture framing and use tape measures literally every day, I know how to use one competently and not just flail it around or let it snap and retract across the face of the TV. This is exactly why I was so shocked that despite my careful attention, the tab so effortlessly found this groove that is practically invisible until it's caused major damage. I'll add that I also know, due to my profession, that people frequently frame their TV's these days, so for that alone people will be measuring their sets similarly, nevermind for room planning reasons as I was. I am coming from a Hisense 55” 4K UHD Smart TV that lasted 4 years. It was great until it started not booting. That was a warranty replacement for the first one that lasted 3 months. I wanted to stay with Roku software because all my apps are hosted through them but I did not want another Hisense. I am mostly impressed with the picture.. The sound is adequate but not very dynamic. I’m happy with this Roku but not awed with the detail. I noticed that the 65” moderately priced units had the highest return and damaged reviews. Mine arrived in perfect condition and set up easily. Time will tell if it out lasts my Hisense but the sale price, I will be pleased if it gives me the same life as my last TV. I will suggest not going larger than 55” on a mid priced Smart TV such as this. ... show more

I love my Roku TV. First, I have always loved the Roku streaming device, so when I was looking for a new TV I immediately compared it with other devices. I've used Roku since 2012 as my exclusive streaming device. I've had external units and the USB stick and never had any trouble with any of them. When I found out that Roku makes a TV I just had to have one. I compared it to many other brands and this TV had everything I was looking for and at a great price. The TV was super simple to set up and integrate with my sound bar and Xbox. The picture and sound quality are out standing. I am exceptionally happy with this TV. I also love that I don't need an external Roku. I highly recommend this TV. If you love the Roku streaming devices, I think you will love this TV. The only thing I would change is that I wish the remote was rechargeable. ... show more

My original review is below. But I am changing it from a 1 star to 5 star because I contacted Roku DIRECTLY and they had the friendliest customer service. We will be receiving a replacement within 10 business days. A slight inconvenience but I think that is reasonable. Total garbage. After 3 months a black line across the screen appeared. We weren’t able to return it because the return window had expired. Fast forward to today and it completely quit working. Did all the troubleshooting. Unplugged, changed HDMI cables and did a factory reset. (With the help of a YouTube walkthrough because there were only red and pink lines on the screen) Nothing worked. It’s garbage. ... show more

    • Confusing menu

For the most part a great tv but keeps losing my local channels. You can go thru the entire channel guide and they dont show. Go in settings to check and says they have been scanned. Doesn't matter if you favorite them. They don't show in favorites. Really frustrating when I want to watch something local. I was going to buy a 75 or 85 roku tv but because of this issue I'll buy Samsung instead. Too bad for roku 4-5-25 update! I went on reddit and there was a conversation about this. The channels are there but the way roku puts them is confusing. On the start menu where you see the 2 hdmi icons next to it you will see a live tv icon. That is the one to get to your over the air stations. Roku makes it confusing by having multiple live tv options ... show more

I am enjoying this TV. It has the voice remote that I would be lost without and memory stick for rewinding 90 minutes of live TV. I'm very much a novice at streaming and and live antenna local TV I'm catching on pretty quick. I'm trying to get away from cable and on wireless remote. So far so good with my kids and grandkids helping. The main thing I miss is fast forwarding through language and sexual situations that I don't want to see. I was told to watch the refresh rate and so far this one is keeping up very well without having to pay too much for the higher quality. ... show more
