  • Outstanding but imperfect
Overall a great buy. No regrets, picture quality is great, software is good for the most part, and of course it's OLED goodness and awesome color rendition. It also should be highlighted how incredibly thin the screen is for the top half, yet it feels sturdy and not like it's just going to bend. Truly just disappears from edge on. Software usability is good overall, for sure. Super intuitive and the magic mouse navigation works well, but even using the D-pad on the remote is very intuitive and fast. But for a brand new TV in 2021 when I bought it, there are times when the software lags a bit, especially every single time you return back to the main menu, the UI visibly lags from loading in all app content previews. It amounts to a mismatch between how ambitious the software is, and the effect it has on making the processor not feel quite adequate and like a mis-spec. Either soften the software load to better suit the processor that is in the TV, or ship a faster processor to meet the demands of the user interface. The latter can be done retroactively, so a software update could improve this experience. This might not just be software either, since the ethernet connection is only a 100 Mbit network interface, and my network switch logs transmit pause errors on my internet router's port, which means the 100 Mbit ethernet interface on the TV is bottlenecking my fiber internet from delivering content as fast as it coulld to the TV. However, when watching content, there is absolutely no buffering issues and content loads very quickly. But like I said above, I am very satisfied with my purchase and I'm impressed by the TV and how good it looks constantly. The overall experience with the software is positive and the hiccups are outweighed by the great user interface design. LG continues to deliver. ... show more

  • TV is Amazing - however Amazon delivery staff need additional training on proper handling of TVs
Amazon asked for delivery feedback. The form does not cover why I was not satisfied with the delivery of this TV. It seems to have survived although it was mishandled. 1 - It was not properly loaded on the truck, although it was secured so it would not fall over, it was standing on it's side, which every TV manufacturer says not to do. It was transported this way from a center 60- 70 miles from my residence rather than one that is only a few miles away. 2 - One person then carried it from the truck to my doorway basically upside down at a 45 degree angle. Although not really heavy it's a 2 person job to carry it properly. This is an OLED which have an extremely thin screens. They should only be transported standing up like they are when they are setup in use. There are diagrams on the box showing this and is easily found using an internet search. At least it wasn't laying flat which is know to crack OLED screens. Somehow it survived and seems to be fine. Hopefully there isn't any hidden damage that will show up later. The TV on the other hand is Amazing so far. It replaced a 10yr old Plasma. OLED is the only technology that can match or exceed the blacks, color and contrast levels of a Plasma. It definitely exceeds the picture quality of my 9 and 10 year old Plasma TVs. It's about 18lbs lighter and uses slightly more than 1/4 of the power. The only possible downfall for an OLED is possible image retention/burn-in which Plasmas also have. Neither of my Plasmas have any image retention or burn in still. I did not rate the smart features as I will probably never use them and have disabled most by declining many of the Terms and Conditions not needed for basic TV operation. I did not rate the gaming as it will not be used for gaming either. I would really like to purchase the 65" or 77" version for the setup in my basement which now also has been upgraded to a Dolby Atmos/DTS:X 7.1.4 capable sound system using real components, however I am not sure I can trust the delivery service for it through Amazon now. ... show more

  • Perfection
I'm always a little skeptical about upgrading a computer or TV, worried the investment won't be worth the improvement. It took me nine years to trade in my trusty Samsung HD, but I'm so glad I did. This television is spectacular, top to bottom, beginning to end. The picture is off the charts -- genuinely the best I've ever seen, to the point that when I see people walking out of Costco or Best Buy with any other brand or model, I have to bite my tongue to keep from telling them what a mistake they've made. Perfect blacks. Bright greens, blues, reds, whatever color you want. The picture setting options might be overwhelming, but give them some time and you'll zero in on what you're looking for. My best advice is follow someone else's advice on youtube and fine tune from there. The TV's internal speakers are pretty impressive. My last TV, much as I loved it, had godforsakenly awful speakers that necessitated a sound system. The LG's speakers probably wouldn't require a separate sound system... except the TV is capable of processing Atmos, so you're missing out on an integral part of the viewing experience (this is something I wasn't aware of until now, not having surround sound/Atmos enabled speakers). I'd say the smart TV portal is the only downside, but you get used to it with time and it's not awful. Apple TV and Roku are more streamlined with fewer to no ads, but in the end you can save yourself the $50 to $200 unless you absolutely require them. No judgments if you do. I bought the latest Apple TV along with the LG, skeptical of smart TVs, and I rarely use it. If you're worried about spending the money for this TV, all I can say is it's going to be a while before you have to upgrade again. Nothing's shot in 8K, Atmos is cutting edge without being a fad, and OLED is the high watermark of picture quality with nothing remotely near challenging it on the horizon so far as I can tell. This is the one. ... show more

  • Top notch picture quality. Speakers could be better. Built for gamers
I'm giving the tv 5 stars bc this tv is great for gaming and the picture quality is so good. Only a few little but not serious weaknesses. The biggest flaw is I'm not quite satisfied with the sound quality. When gaming I don't feel the sound is balanced well so I miss out on little suttle noises. If you have a really bright living room and watch tv during the day you may want to go with the c2 or a Samsung bc this tv may not be bright enough. I have to turn the pixels up to like 80% and my room doesn't have a lot of light coming in. LG are not known for being bright. And lastly now that I have an oled tv I find myself worrying about burn in over time but we will see. All flaws aside I can tell you this tv is the best I've ever owned and I'm always impressed with the picture quality. And it doesn't get much better for gamers hdr & dobly vision gaming at 120hz. Game optimizer menue, black frame insertion. This tv definitely built for gamers. Update: decided to buy a soundbar for the first time in my life and for the price I'm paying you think LG would throw in better quality speakers or atleast sell the tv w soundbar as a bundle. I will not be getting an lg soundbar as I feel I've already paid them enough money Update: after several months I continue to be impressed w the picture quality every time I turn it on. A word of caution. I don't think this tv is meant for a bright room. During the day I turn the pixels all the way up and theirs not a lot of sunlight coming through. I primarily use it for gaming. You can use dynamic tone mapping to brighten the screen , but you will lose some shadow detail. sometimes the blacks are over powering. So if your planning on gaming in a bright room you probably should get something else. I hear the Samsung oleds are a little brighter. Anyway I'm still very happy w my purchase inspite of the tvs weak points. Hope that helps, game on :) ... show more

  • AMAZING picture, fantastic TV overall
- Picture quality: Crystal clear? Crystal wishes it could be this clear! 10/10 - Gaming: It's 4k and 120Hz, just as advertised. I haven't seen any type of screen tearing, artifacting, or any other issues. I'm kind of a visual fidelity snob, and now I refuse to play on my actual computer monitors. 10/10 - Sound: The built-in speakers are actually pretty good when comparing to competitors. The bass isn't super impressive, and the overall sound quality gets slightly worse when listening at higher volumes. But if you're dropping this kind of money on a TV, I'm guessing you're going to be using a dedicated sound system. 7/10? - User Interface: It's... OK. The home menu is user friendly. The settings menu can be a little confusing to navigate at first. There's a menu that comes up whenever you turn the TV on even though it recognizes the last input source that you selected, which is mildly annoying but if you wait about 10 seconds it disappears on it's own. Honestly, I prefer my old Samsung's interface over this one. 6/10 Overall review: I love this TV, and some of my friends that have seen it in person are now saving for one of their own. When paired with a high quality sound system that supports Dolby Atmos, it feels like you're in a theater. ... show more

  • Great picture, sound is lacking
Edit for update: had to contact LG support again since we were never contacted again after the speaker blew. We were told that our original ticket had either been closed or was never submitted by the person we contacted. They submitted another ticket and through messy back and forth we gave up since we are using our separate surround anyway. Still a great quality TV but the LG service department is pretty messy. Overall i like the TV. The picture is phenomenal, it holds connection to all of the apps without issue. The only problem we have run into is that one of the speakers blew out 3 days after set up. LG support is doing everything it can to NOT assist with this issue. The day it arrived we registered our tv. The day after the speaker blew we contacted LG support and submitted a trouble ticket. Didn't hear anything for 4 days, so we tried the support chat and they submitted another ticket and told us to wait up to 10 days for someone to call to set up an appointment. Well it has been 15 days since we first submitted the support ticket and noone has responded. Luckily we already has a sound system set up so this just might be how things stay. ... show more

  • Best TV I've ever owned
The picture is stunning. The features are great. The built in sound is surprisingly good. Everything I run through this thing - from games to movies to streaming videos - looks noticeably better than they ever have. Coming off of a cheap black friday 4K TCL Roku TV (which only lasted 2 years before the backlight went out), this may as well be several entire generational leaps ahead in terms of literally everything a TV has to offer. Also, being lucky enough to have been able to get a PS5 at retail price back when they first launched, my games look incredible. Hell, my current-gen games even look better than ever. Even compared to the surprisingly decent picture quality of the aforementioned TCL I had, it feels almost like going from SD to HD back in the early 2000s. My only (very minor) gripe is that the 'Home' menu defaults to using the remote's motion pointer function, which doesn't switch off until you push a directional button. This causes navigating the menu to be annoying for a couple of seconds each time I need to use it. There's probably a way to customize this behavior, but I haven't found the setting for it. TL;DR - EXTREMELY good TV. A bit pricey (current full price is $1,800), but quality tends to be. ... show more

  • After almost 4 years of ownership…
“After owning countless TVs over the years — LED, QLED, budget models, and even a few higher-end sets — nothing has impressed me the way the LG 55-inch C1 OLED has. I’m not exaggerating when I say this TV completely transformed the way I experience movies, shows, and gaming. From the moment I powered it on, I knew this wasn’t just another TV upgrade… this was a whole new level of picture quality and performance. Picture Quality (Truly Stunning): The C1’s OLED panel immediately stands out. The pure black levels aren’t just impressive — they redefine what contrast should look like. When a scene cuts to black, it feels like the TV disappears into the room, making the bright elements leap off the screen with unbelievable precision. Colors look incredibly vibrant without ever feeling artificial, and the accuracy is impressive right out of the box. Dolby Vision movies are where this TV absolutely flexes its power. The detail in dark scenes, especially in things like sci-fi or thriller movies, is unreal. Shadows stay rich, textures stay crisp, and fine details — reflections, glows, sparks, rain, skin tones — are more lifelike than I’ve ever seen on a television. It feels like going from watching through a window to sitting inside the cinematographer’s vision. Gaming Performance (A Dream Screen for Gamers): If you game, the LG C1 is practically the gold standard. Every HDMI port is 2.1, which already puts it ahead of a lot of TVs. The 120Hz panel makes motion feel silky smooth, and the input lag is so low that everything responds instantly. VRR, FreeSync, G-Sync — it handles them all. HDR gaming is absolutely gorgeous. Bright areas explode with energy, but you never lose detail in the dark corners. Games that support Dolby Vision look even better on this panel. Fast shooters, racing games, open-world adventures — they all feel more immersive, more fluid, and more cinematic. As someone who has owned multiple ‘gaming TVs,’ I can confidently say this one stands at the top. Smart Features & Everyday Use: The webOS interface is clean, fast, easy to navigate, and genuinely pleasant to use — no lag, no clutter. Switching between apps happens almost instantly, and the Magic Remote feels natural in the hand. Pointing and selecting makes navigating menus feel effortless. One thing I love is how customizable the picture modes are. Whether you’re a casual viewer or a total calibration nerd, the C1 lets you tweak things until the picture looks exactly how you want it. Or you can just leave it on Cinema or Filmmaker Mode and enjoy near-perfect accuracy. Design (Minimalistic & Premium): The design of this TV is a statement piece all by itself. It’s incredibly thin, sleek, and modern. The bezels are so minimal that all you see is the picture — which makes the viewing experience feel huge and immersive. Mounted on the wall, it looks like a piece of futuristic art. Even when it’s off, the TV looks classy, clean, and premium. The build quality feels solid, the stand is sturdy, and everything about it gives off a high-end feel. Sound Quality: The speakers are better than I expected from a TV this thin. Dialogue is clear, and the built-in AI Sound Pro mode actually helps improve clarity and immersion. A soundbar will always improve things, but the C1 alone performs more than well enough if you’re not ready for extra audio gear. Final Thoughts (My Honest Recommendation): After using the LG 55-inch C1 OLED for everything — movies, sports, streaming, gaming — I can say without hesitation that this is the best TV I’ve ever owned. Every time I turn it on, I’m reminded of why I chose it. The picture is breathtaking. The gaming performance is top-tier. The design is gorgeous. And the overall experience feels premium from top to bottom. The LG C1 isn’t just an upgrade; it’s a TV that genuinely elevates whatever you’re watching. It’s the type of device you buy once and enjoy for years because it stays impressive every single day. If someone asked me whether they should get the LG C1, I would say this: Absolutely yes. This TV is outstanding, and it continues to amaze me every time I use it.” ⸻ If you want an even longer, even more passionate, or even more professional version — or if you want it tailored for Amazon, Best Buy, Reddit, or a YouTube script — just tell me! ... show more
