Firstly, the setup and charging for this doorbell was extremely easy. No wires, no connections, nothing like that - just drill the base into the door frame, then attach the doorbell into the base with one screw on the bottom. The picture quality on the doorbell is impressive, even in low or no light! I've had other doorbells (Ring, Amcrest) and this quality is as good or better. The motion detection is very sensitive - which is a good thing and a bad thing. It's great because it doesn't miss anything. It's bad because sometimes a large bug will trip it, and this can quickly drain battery life. I've backed off the recognition area and that should converse the battery significantly. I had it watch the sidewalk and street (it's a side street, but still sees a moderate amount of traffic) and the battery was down to 63% in 10 days. I set it to only trip recordings for the front steps (changed the painted area to monitor) and I expect the battery to last much, much longer now. It was easy to sync to Alexa and now doorbell activations go off on my dot as well! It's also nice to be able to talk through the doorbell, but I don't think I'm going to need that feature very often. I would definitely buy this again, and the price is unbeatable. I can access my recordings right on the app WITHOUT a subscription because I purchased a micro SD card and put it in the doorbell - one of the best and most subtle features, to be sure, unlike many, many other cameras and doorbells. ... show more

I've been searching for a new wired doorbell camera to replace my aging Nest Hello which I've had for many years. After purchasing one of the Tapo C120 cameras and being impressed with its features and picture quality, I pulled the trigger on this new wired doorbell from Tapo. So far it's working great. I installed a 128GB SD card and the install was very easy. The camera view has a much wider angle view compared to the Nest which is good because I can see more of my porch, but I don't love the fish-eye point of view. Person detection work great but I turned off the motion detection after the first night because just like every other camera I've tried, it kept getting triggered by bugs. The only other issue is the night vision shows a bright spot on the wall to the right of the camera along the wall in our porch. Is this doorbell camera perfect? No. But for the price I'm happy with it. ... show more

My favorite feature of this doorbell is that you can save videos to an SD card in the (included) hub. You don't need a subscription. The provided mounting instructions, templates, and adhesive made it reasonably straightforward to mount. Once installed, it provides a decent quality video image, reliable doorbell (at least with my nearby WiFi), and a usable app to get notifications. I used the two-way audio occasionally, and it seems to work fine, but I don't use it very often. The battery has lasted a couple of months so far, probably due for a charge, which seems like I'll have to figure out how to take down the doorbell again, but I'm happy enough with the battery life. We don't have a huge amount of door traffic, but if we did, perhaps I'd recommend a wired version (which is also less bulky and less expensive, but requires installation of a cable). The lens is very wide-angle, and for our installation, I think I might prefer more zoomed in pictures of faces, but it's still completely acceptable. I like it enough to get a second one for our back door. ... show more
