  • Could'nt be happier with this vacuum !!
Size: Smart Robot Vacuum & Mop Style: Vacuum w/ Self Emptying Dock
There is very little NOT to like about this vacuum! We have had this for about 3 months now, run it every day, usually in a "room by room" or "specific zone" mode...wherever needed at the moment, and I couldn't be happier at the ease of use and help it brings to having nice, clean floors every day. I honestly have experienced NONE of the complaints I see in other reviews and they seem baffling to me. The roller brush has gotten stuck when it tried to pick up something that I should have picked up prior to cleaning, and the side brush has gotten into a fight with an extension cord once or twice, but those issues are easily avoided by taking 30 seconds to look over the area to be cleaned and removing the obstacle. But it easily picks up pebbles, food crumbs, kitty litter, dried mud flecks and most small solid particles as well as the easy stuff... lint, dust, hair, string, etc. Recently, the unit suddenly lost its ability to connect to our house's wi-fi, despite other Tapo products remaining connected. I reached out to their Customer Support team via their website and was shocked and pleased at the swift responsiveness to my request for help. They walked me through step by step diagnosis of the problem and in a relatively short matter of time, the unit is back to working normal again. The Support Team remained dogged and determined to fix the issue. I am confident that if they had been unable to fix the issue, they would have sent a warranty replacement. Dont know that for sure, but they certainly never ducked the issue and stayed dedicated to fixing it until it got resolved. So I cant say enough about their customer support and care after the sale. Extremely helpful ! The dust bin is very easy to clean. The hepa filter probably needs to be changed every 3 months or so, so it might be advisable to keep a few on hand. Its easy enough to remove and tap clean, but I think when it gets really dirty enough times, it seems to loose a bit of its suction power. Not much, but some. The unit is really very quiet, especially compared to the older Roomba model that we had. When the machine starts collecting the dust after a good vacuuming, THAT is loud. Thankfully it only runs for about 10 seconds. The suction and thoroughness of cleaning is about 95% effective, I'd say. There are few hard corners that the brush will "sling" something into and cant suck it back, but that happens very seldom. We still keep our cordless vacuum around for the occasional miss or spot cleaning. Mapping took less than 20 minutes for an area of about 1600 SF... 6 rooms and 2 halls. Entire set up took about 35-40 minute. Now, I can stand and just watch the vacuum in amazement for several minutes at a time and marvel at how it precisely follows its map, rather than just blindly bumping around like I have seen other robot vacuums do. After mapping the house, I went back and created small off-limit zones (geo-fencing) to keep the vacuum from bothering the pet food/water area and some other delicate spots. Easily done and the vacuum never goes into those zones. From the map, I created the 6 rooms or zones, so that cleaning doesnt have to be done on the entire house at one time. The vacuum has done the 1600sf downstairs area on one charge, with one pass. When we set it to go over the entire twice, it had to go re-dock and recharge so it could return and finish the job. It did all that flawlessly and impressively on its own, but now we just have it make one pass if doing the entire house. I just love everything about the vacuum. They have thought about everything in the software and the vacuum. I liked the app so much, I bought 3 outdoor security cameras from Tapo, that shows on the same app as the vacuum. Great cameras with great battery life. Again, Tapo has thought about everything in the products I have now. Knowing that they have excellent customer support gives me even more reassurance that I made really good purchases from Tapo without spending a ton ! ... show more

  • Great Robot Vacuum
Size: Smart Robot Vacuum & Mop Style: Vacuum w/ Self Emptying Dock
This is a great robot vacuum so far. Mapping and setup is easy and works great. Ot makes logical movements, doesn’t miss any spots (aside from corners and edges a bit) and cleans very well. The dustbin is always quite full after it cleans one the floors of the house. This thing actually seems logical and smart as it does a good job maneuvering and avoiding obstacles/not getting stuck often. This is the second robot vacuum I’ve owned. The other one was only slightly cheaper than this and cleaned randomly, missed lots of spots, stopped mopping after a week, then stopped working completely in two weeks. Luckily it was still within the return window. Hopefully this one lasts because it is awesome. ... show more

  • Excellent Engineering and a Good Value
Size: Smart Robot Vacuum & Mop Style: Vacuum w/ Self Emptying Dock
This little vacuum is pretty impressive. I've owned Roomba products for a while now, but I've been in the Tapo ecosphere for a bit and really like the non-subscription options of the Tapo products. I am amazed at the precision of its cleaning track. The LiDAR system seems to be very accurately mapping our house and as you can see in the picture, the cleaning pattern is very methodical and thorough. I especially like this feature over the past robot vacuums I've had. Works much better for my OCD-ness. The multi-function dock is a great feature as well, only having to empty the bag once a month is a bonus. The app is pretty intuitive and feature packed. All-in, I'm very pleased with this purchase. I am pretty sure the folks reviewing that shared a random scattered pattern on their home map was created using the remote-control feature, and not by just letting this little guy clean as his programming tells him to. ... show more

  • The $65 no name robot vac that owned previously outperforms this vaccumm in every way
Size: Smart Robot Vacuum & Mop Style: Vacuum w/ Self Emptying Dock
Everything about this vacuum is plain awful. I previously had a $65, bottom of the barrel robot vac that outperformed this one in every single category. Battery Life: Consistently less than half of the stated run time on medium suction Emptying: Is set on a timer of some kind so you just have to hope that it doesn't get full prior to the time limit being reached, otherwise it makes more mess than it picks up and spreads debris all over your floor. Dont bother trying to force empty it unless you feel like carrying it back to the base. Otherwise you'll spend an hour waiting for it to find it's way home only for it roam to the furthest out of reach corner it can find and loae all connection. Additionally, it actually gets everything out of the tank about 1 in 2-3 times. The rest of the time it will leave a nice pile for you in front of the base station. Mapping and "Smart Features": Might as well be non existent. They would be more helpful that way. It finds it's way back to the base about 1 in 5 times, maybe. Always stating "unstable network" Funny enough, I have business grade Internet and top of the line WiFi from who? Yup, TP Link Deco. 20+ other devices, not one having any issues with network stability. Even set it to high priority in QOS. Clearly this thing doesn't require more than a GB of dedicated bandwidth so I'm fairly certain it's not my network. Furthermore, the map updating literally makes the map worse every time this thing runs. The only reason I kept it past the return period was because with my old one (and most others from what I've read) a lot of this stuff gets better with time as it learns. This one truly cleans less of my apartment and takes longer to do it every single time I use is. Don't dare using the "lock map" feature, because that means that if it THINKS there's been a change and the map is locked, it just stops using that map and stops cleaning and is ready start creating a new map on the spot. No way to override this at all. Unfortunately, it says "environment has changed" literally every time it stops and starts moving again for any reason. Even in it's own accord or due to well documented obstacles. So your choices are leave the map unlocked and redo the whole thing every couple of weeks, leave it unlocked and didn't worry about half your floors not getting cleaned, or lock it, and it literally won't work at all. There are another 50 things that I could list here, but I'm getting frustrated frankly just recounting how awful this thing truly is. I have used and have been an advocate for tp Link products for years, but this is one of the biggest misses I've seen by a larger company like this in a long time. It is complete and total junk. ... show more
