Description

The RV30 Max Plus is a 2-in-1 vacuum & mop combo. It includes Anti-Drop protection, which allows the robot to detect step edges and respond in milliseconds to prevent falls. It also includes a climbing angle of 20°. There are 5 different suction levels included. The filter is an H11 HEPA. The battery capacity is 2600 mAh. The vacuuming area is 180 m2 and the mopping area is 200 m2. The robot vacuum cleaner also includes Smart Recharge & Resume, where the robot automatically goes to charging dock for recharge and then resumes cleaning from where it left off. You can also set up Virtual Walls and No-Go Zones on app. Place non-furniture items, such as decorative plants or pet beds, that the robot may push. Other features include real-time tracking, 3+1 multi-floor mapping, scheduled cleaning, and breakpoint resumption. The robot provides 3 water flow options for mopping to suit different floor types. Other reviewers have rightly praised the RV30's ease of setup and ease of use. The mopping feature does a decent but not great job. The vacuuming works just fine and got rid of the dog hair. The first time you activate the RV30, it will map your homes floor area. It may take you more than one attempt to customize the map of your home and to designate areas of tile and carpet. It took me three tries to get this right. Stick with it and be patient. Then lock the map so you don't use your work. Also, you can create map presets for tile and carpet so that all areas get vacuumed and only the tile areas get mopped. Noise isn't an issue when the RV 30 is running. It's quiet. The dust-emptying feature (when the vacuum returns to the dock) is noisy but brief, and this feature works well. Three years ago, I bought a Dyson robot vacuum. It cost $1,000, and it didn't have an auto-emptying dock. It never worked well, and Dyson, to its credit, recalled the product after one year and refunded my the entire price including tax. The RV30's hardware and software are well designed and work as promised. It is worth the price. I want to add a hint you'll find helpful: the location of the little brush you can use to clean the main rotating brush. You'll find the cleaning brush when you open the lid of the Auto-Empty Dock and look on the right. There you'll find the brush sitting in its place on the righthand side. The User Manual in the middle of page 1 has a note about ⅔ of the way down from the top of the page: "*One dust bag and one cleaning brush placed inside the dock." My older name brand robovac finally crapped out after about 10 years of use. I had had really good experiences with TAPO smart plugs, light switches, and cameras, so decided to give their vacuum/mop a try. It was easy to set up, and after it spent a minute mapping out the space, it went right to work. It cleans well, is easy to schedule, and is MUCH QUIETER than my previous vacuum. The battery life is OK, but that is not really a concern. If it runs low during a cleaning, it returns to its base and charges and picks up right where it left off. The suction if pretty good. It picks up my dog's hair, and I have a husky mix, and she had just gone through her spring shedding. If you know, you know, but huskies drop TONS of hair when they shed, and this vacuum gets it up well. Honestly, I'd wager this is the best value for the money you'll be able to find. Full disclosure, the first one I was sent was a lemon. It had a repeating error when trying to map the room. After some emails to customer service, they agreed it needed to be replaced. They sent me a new one and a free shipping label to return the old one. It took a little longer than I would want, but overall was not a terribly painful process and I did not have to fight them, I just had to re-explain things a few times, and had to log in to a clunky website to confirm my shipping preference. But everything else I've bought from Tapo has worked perfectly straight out of the box, 3 security cameras, a doorbell camera, a deadbolt, and about 30 smart light switches of different types. The media could not be loaded. Received the new Tapo Robot Vacuum today May 10, 2025. We placed the order May 7th so it came very fast. The container was delivered in excellent condition. It’s our first Tapo product. The setup was quick and easy. The application is simple and intuitive to use. We had it setup and charged in less than an hour. The mapping process is straightforward and the actual cleaning for our kitchen, breakfast area and living room took a little more than an hour and used 50% of the fully charged battery. We have no plans to use the mopping feature but I’m sure it works great too. Half of our cleaning area is laminated wood floors, so just don’t trust any unattended water source (just me). It’s early on, but so far we love this machine. We will update this review in a few weeks. Update August 2025: Well we have had this Tapo vacuum in service for 120 hours, covering 67,274 square feet, that’s 742 square feet per day. There has been absolutely zero issues, we love the quality and reliability of this product. We have 2 Eufy vacuum cleaners in service in different locations in our home and when they play out, we’ll replace them with Tapo machines. Super easy setup. Mapped a lower floor with multiple rooms, walls, carpet, tile, hardwood surfaces. Single charge easily completes the 1200 sq ft on ground floor. Variable suction as it goes across the different surfaces. Picks up cat hair easily. Easy to clean dirt collection bin. Low profile so gets into some tight areas.
