I've never used cookware this sturdy and well designed. The non-stick ceramic coating is so much better than Teflon. As recommended, I treated those pans with Crisco prior to use, and it's performance is excellent. I can fry eggs without a drop of oil and it slides off the pan onto the plate. Clean up is a nylon brush and a drop of dish liquid. The stainless steel is highly polished and the handles are enclosed tubular construction which are riveted. As far as cooking goes, they are fine. No complaints. But the handles get very HOT! I have had several other cooksets that have handles that do not heat up. Do not expect that with T-fal. Before you touch the handles, make sure you have a pot holder or towel to cover the handle. Very poor and potentially dangerous design! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. If you’re debating between a set of stainless steel vs nonstick coated cookware, this is the ultimate set. It gives you everything you need of each. Firstly, it’s important to familiarize yourself with how these two types of cookware differ. Generally, nonstick is easier to use and easier to wash. But since they’re coated, they don’t last as long as stainless steel, since the coating starts wearing off after some time. You also may only use soft utensils and soft cleaning sponges, or the coating with scratch off (this is with every brand). On the other hand, while stainless steel is a lot more durable, it can take some trial and error to learn how to avoid food sticking to the pans, and may take some more effort to wash. That said, this set offers you some of both, so you don’t need to choose one or the other. Unlike other combination sets that include only stainless pots and only nonstick frying pans, this set has a variety of both. Unless you cook for a large crowd, this has every pot you need. These pots cook beautifully. Gives you even cooking and sautéing, and they also wash so beautifully! The handles are steel, but they don’t get hot unless the handle is over a source of heat (such as in the center of the stove with other flames on). Tip for washing stainless pots after getting food stuck while sautéing or searing: as soon as you’re done cooking, deglaze the pan with a bit of liquid (such as wine while the food is there, or water if you’ve taken the food out). Do this while the pan is still hot, and use a utensil to clear away the problem areas. The plus side of stainless steel pots is that you can use any soap and any sponge/scrubber to clean it. I was so excited when I first got these that I threw out all of my old pans and pots and now I’m regretting that decision because these are starting to stick and have like a rainbow tent on the inside… they are perfect size if you are a 1 to 2 person family, but if you have more than that, it’s very difficult to make a full meal at once… the frying pan only fits three pork chops or two decent size steaks or five chicken legs, which means I have to make dinner now in rounds which is beyond annoying. ... show more

This is a fantastic set of T-fal cookware that has everything you need if you're just starting out, and this set would make a wonderful wedding gift or a gift for anyone just setting up housekeeping. I've never had any T-fal cookware and am very impressed with this set. The pots and pans are sturdy and very shiny, just as you'd expect with T-fal (I've visited it in department stores), and the quality of everything in this set is superb, just as you'd expect. This set of T-fal doesn't disappoint. I love the measurements inside the pans; why doesn't everybody who makes cookware do that?? Such a simple thing and yet I've never seen that either. I also like the glass lids this set comes with and the accessories that are included. This set is everything you'll ever need to set up your kitchen or just refresh your old motley crew of pots and pans, which is what I did. Two of the skillets are nonstick, but the others are not; nonstick cookware tends to get scarred because of the coating, but these should hold up very well. A nice, functional, well made, traditional set of great cookware like this will last a lifetime. My dog has enjoyed the fact that I've been cooking more often since I got these. This set makes it easy to cook anything, and all the pieces are easy to clean. You can't go wrong with T-fal, and this is the perfect set that will cover all your needs.
