SAW WHAT YOU SEE - WITH THE ONE SAW THAT DOES DOUBLE DUTY! Tackle those hard- to-reach branches with ease. Stand safely on solid ground and simply adjust the telescoping pole to gain up to 15 feet of overhead reach. Later, when the limbs are down and there's wood to be cut, the SWJ807E quickly converts to a hand-held chainsaw to make light work of loads of logs. Unlike gas- powered tools, SWJ807E is powered electrically, so you'll power up reliably every time with the push of a button, without having to deal with smoke, fumes, spark plugs or costly tune-ups. Plus the SWJ807E comes equipped with a built-in safety switch to prevent accidental starting. The Sun Joe SWJ807E convertible electric pole chain + saw carries a full two-year .

  • Great product at a great price
Style: Convertible Chain/Pole Saw Size: 10-Inch Bar/Chain Configuration: 8.8' Max. Extension
After moving to the Big Island of Hawaii it became clear I needed a chainsaw for removal of invasive bushes/trees. II also wanted an electric model that was not dependent on a battery. The fact that this item offers an extension pole for reaching higher up was what convinced me to give it a try. I've now used it many times, cutting trees up to 8 inches in diameter. The unit has enough power to do the job but is also light weight. I've used the extension piece a couple of times to reach higher up and it also works well. Although, it can take a fair amount of strength to support the saw when it's extended quite a bit. It has an automatic chain oil feature but be sure to purchase the oil ahead of time as they do NOT provide any with the unit. Overall, I'm very pleased with the performance of this saw and how easy it is to use. ... show more

  • Works fine once you get through the gauntlet of start-up procedures
Style: Convertible Chain/Pole Saw Size: 10-Inch Bar/Chain Configuration: 8.8' Max. Extension
The 807E worked fine and as expected after a terrible experience getting it started. The pole saw is somewhat unwieldy and requires some upper body strength to control when fully extended -- but that isn't unexpected given what it is -- a chain saw on a pole. It cut the branches relatively well, getting caught a few times when I didn't think it should have, but generally doing what it should. The times it got stuck, I was able to work the blade out and continue. Overall an adequate cutting performance, and given the price point and specs for this, that is all one can expect. The real problem is with getting started. First -- how many would have guessed you have to install the chain first? I didn't expect that, but ok. Let's do it. The second problem was that the instructions emphasize that the chain must be installed with a particular orientation (or else the saw won't work and may vibrate dangernously) -- but the description of the critical orientation was worthless. The blade meets the description in the instructions no matter how it is installed (the description says in bold letters that the cutting teeth must be away from you -- but there are cutting teeth facing both directions so there is no real way to know if you have it right. The pictures are similarly ambiguous. My saw came with the chain tied to the blade in the proper orientation. But I swear after literally an hour of trying to figure out how to recognize the proper orientation (in case I needed to remove or replace the chain) I couldn't see any way to determine right from wrong. This is crazy incompetent instruction-writing for a chain saw. Finally, after getting the whole thing put together (several other faults in the instructions -- like the failure to mention you might need to reposition the tensioning bolt) I was ready to go. BUT NO. Before the saw can operate you must fill it with special "chain and blade oil." The instructions explicitly tell you not to use any other kind of oil, such as motor oil. How many of you first time chain saw owners have a bottle of chain and blade oil just sitting in your garage? I'm guessing none, and I didn't either, and there was no "starter" bottle in the box. So before cutting anything, I had to get in the car and drive to Home Depot to buy the special oil. As I said once the saw got going, it was fine. But the whole "out of the box" experience was infuriating and generally displayed a lack of concern for the customer experience. I hope I don't need any kind of service for the saw and this disrespect of the customer doesn't bode well. Update 5/17/2021: I've used the saw a number of times now, including to take down a medium sized tree in my yard. The saw has worked very well. It cuts at least 6 inch branches relatively easily. The maintenance has not been bad. I've disassembled the chain and cleaned the inner workings several times and it continues to function when reassembled. For the price, this saw has performed admirably. I really like that it is electric. Because I usually use it with the pole attachment, the cord doesn't get near the blade. And because it is electric, I don't feel like I've been breathing gasoline fumes all day. I'm just using it for small yard jobs. But it has really worked well for that and has been well worth the price. It has allowed me to do jobs that would have cost many times the cost of the saw if I had hired someone. The horrible experience getting the saw going the first time is fading from memory and the saw's performance since then has been very positive. ... show more

  • Great product!
Style: Convertible Chain/Pole Saw Size: 10-Inch Bar/Chain Configuration: 8.8' Max. Extension
Cuts far better than expected. Quiet. Handle detaches easily. Light enough for one-handed operation. Note that the oil reservoir is very small so be careful not to pour chain bar oil all over the place when filling it.

  • Great value!
Style: Convertible Chain/Pole Saw Size: 10-Inch Bar/Chain Configuration: 8.8' Max. Extension
Great unit. Works well with or without the pole. Disconnects easily. The original chain was cheap and didn't last long. Oregon replacement chain works well on it.

We're very impressed with the quality of this product. Good productivity cutting limbs away from the roof of our house. Cut oak tree limbs up to 8" diameter without any issues. Converting to pole saw was easy and also good production realized.

  • Really nice electric pole saw and chainsaw for a good price!
Style: Convertible Chain/Pole Saw Size: 10-Inch Bar/Chain Configuration: 8.8' Max. Extension
I am very impressed with this electric convertible pole saw and chainsaw for it's price. It cuts very well. Although it's mostly plastic, it seems well built. Clever and simple design to go from pole saw to chainsaw and visa-versa. It is a little top heavy with the chainsaw mounted on top of the pole when extended, but manageable; would be nice to have a shoulder support strap. I live in a neighborhood with a home owners association that requires the home owner to trim their trees and branches away from streets for delivery vehicles 15-20 ft up and up from the yard ground for yard care riding lawn mower or get fined and penalized. And it's just better looking. It cost around $100 - $200 or more to have tree trimming done every time and they need trimming every month and a half to 2 months, sometimes more here in Florida except in the short winter months. So, if you're able and willing to use a pole saw and chainsaw, you can save a lot of money. And of course we get storms with high winds and hurricanes where branches need to be trimmed and cut up. This pole saw has worked very well to trim branches that are higher up and then remove the pole and use its chainsaw to chop up the branches into 4 ft or smaller pieces for local yard pick up. Two devices in one, very nice. I chose this electric corded pole saw and chainsaw because I didn't want to mess with gas and oil and their noise and most of the cordless electric pole saws and chainsaws currently have short runtimes like 15 minutes to half an hour before they need recharging which is not long enough for my tasks. Obviously, you must be careful with the long electrical cords, but otherwise this is a great tool. I did have to tighten the chain guard and chain a couple of times, and the chain came off twice due to my usage, but those tasks were quick and easy to do with this. I found it strange that the lubricating oil fill hole is on the side rather on top because it didn't show how much oil I was pouring in, so I overfilled it wasting some oil. When the saw is upright and in use it's easy to see how much oil is left or needed. Overall I highly recommend this. ... show more
