I was very skeptical when I purchased this tiller, however, I decided to give it a try. I am laying a large concrete pad on my driveway and needed to work up compacted ground with a layer of gravel substrate about three inches under the top. I am pouring a 5 inch deep pad roughly about 1 inch above grade. This tiller broke through and ate up several inches of gravel along with grabbing ahold of vine roots that was littered throughout the pad area. There were times that the tiller grabbed ahold of one of those roots that stalled the tiller and the self protection that this tiller has shut it down. I would pull up on the vine and continue tilling. On a 13 foot 4 inch width by 25 feet long area encompassing around 8 cubic yards, I needed to recharge the batteries three times. Keep in mind the huge amount of work I put this tiller through. I am highly impressed and would not hesitate buying it again. This tiller is lightweight, there were some bouncing that did occur, just hold on and let it do its job. ... show more

I am very happy with the performance of this tiller. I used it to make a new bed in my backyard for my Three Sisters garden, and it exceeded expectations. I was able to do the whole plot I wanted without running out of battery. This spot of ground was dry, clumpy, rocky, and rooty, and this thing never missed a beat. I did have to stop a couple times to remove grass and weeds from the tines, but once I got through the grass, it never stopped. It is light, very easy to stop and start, assembly was self-explanatory, the battery life seems to be great so far. I really wanted one I could use by myself, and this is perfect. I will update this if anything changes as I continue to use it through the season. I researched deeply into electric tiller/cultivators to find one that could break new ground and this seemed to be the best at this price point. ... show more
