This metal detector is AWESOME. It comes as a complete kit with a carrying bag, and the included tool is both a shovel and pick in one, which is super convenient. It even includes batteries, which was a great bonus. Setup was incredibly easy—my 10-year-old set it up completely by herself. The arm brace helps distribute the weight evenly and makes it comfortable to hold for longer periods. It also comes with headphones that are comfortable and convenient, but you can clearly hear the sound without using them too. The screen has an adjustable tilt, which makes it easy to see at different angles, and I really appreciate the metal scale that shows which score ranges generally correspond to different types of metals. Overall, it’s user-friendly, well thought out, and perfect for both kids and adults. Great value for your money. Very happy with this purchase.

This is a perfect first detector for anyone wanting to give it a try. The scanner was able to accurately tell me different metal types. It differentiated between a steel nail, a penny, and a brass shell casing, with a different beep for each. The casing was under 4 inches of sand and was picked up during a very quick sweep. It's light enough for a 10 year old or a very petite woman, but looks totally normal being held by a 185lb man. For the price it can't be beat.

It worked great the first time I used it. I was really excited to see all there is on our 1890s homestead. It was going off every few feet! I took it back out the next day and.. nothing. It would register the shovel, but nothing underground. I walked around in areas that had lots of activity the day before, for about 10 minutes, and nothing. Then all of a sudden the alert noise started going crazy for a solid minute, like it was "catching up" to all the things it had found. Then, nothing again. So I tried the next day and there was just, nothing. Not even a catch up. So I tried again the next day, and still nothing. So disappointed. I'll definitely invest in something better in the spring, but this is just not it.

My son wanted a metal detector so bad after using a friend! This one is affordable and works great! Not sure how we ended up with so many rusty nails in our yard, but he's found a ton. He lives it and the nails he's collected are evidence it works great! Great for kids or beginners!
