The rower was easy to put together. It took my husband about an hour and he had no issues with pieces or bolts not fitting. Everything went together as shown in the instructions. I tried it for just a few minutes since it was late at night when he finished but I think we will get a lot of use out of this rower. It operates smoothly and is quiet. I didn't notice much difference between the tensions 1-16 but will work with it when I have more time and see where I'd like to begin. 1 seemed really easy, though. I hope with the both of us using this machine, we get some good results and it holds up to two people using it almost daily. Only time will tell but it seems well made and sturdy! I bought this as rowing was the main thing I've missed at my gym since it closed during pandemic. I happen to be a petite, 55-year-old female, so had the delivery guys bring the large box into my house but assembled it myself. I found the packaging throughout was impressively designed and ensured no damage and no lost parts on arrival. Assembly took about 30 minutes after first reading through the instructions (as I do). The quality is great; very stable, comfortable and smooth. I'm 5'-5" but it looks like it could accommodate a much taller person with no issue. Item was well packaged and arrived in good shape. Assembly was straightforward and 2 people got it done in about an hour. Machine is solidly built and the seat was quite comfortable and wide. However, even at the highest resistance, almost no effort was needed and I didn't break a sweat even after one hour of usage at the highest resistance level. Perhaps, our item was defective?     • Early thoughts

Have had this for about a week and here are my initial thoughts: Assembly was easy for one person...the only thing that was somewhat difficult was attaching the slide bar to the main section (just awkward holding it in position to get the screws in). When unpacking, 4 or 5 random loose screws fell out of the box--they weren't part of the assembly package, and I inspected all of the other screw holes and none seemed to be missing, so not sure where they came from so just a little unsettling. So far using it is great, with a few minor issues: the display isn't working right for me....if you just get on and start using the clock will start, but every time I have used it once it gets to around 22 minutes, it just stops. I have no idea why, and there don't seem to be any settings to change it. Not a huge deal, but kind of eliminates any value from the display. It is very quiet, however twice after about 20 minutes of usage it has started making a creaking noise. I have tightened the screws in the base (the pre-assembled part, not what I had to put together) and that seems to work for awhile. My hope is that they won't keep coming loose and having this problem going forward, but time will tell. Overall I am happy, especially for the price, but I'm hopeful that it doesn't have constant quality issues in the future. EDIT: I spoke to customer service via e-mail, and they are sending me a new display unit. Hopefully the new one will work better than the one that came with it. UPDATE: I received the replacement display and it has the exact same issue. I’m not going to worry about it as I am using Apple Fitness for workouts, but it’s still annoying that it doesn’t work correctly. ... show more

We took delivery three weeks ago. Relatively easy to set up, but be aware that the seat likes to slide to the end of the stops. Now that we are used to it, my wife and I use it every day, sometimes multiple times a day. We don't put it away, just leave it in place next to the wall, facing the TV. My main issue is that it, like all the other rowers I've seen, sits too low for someone who (like me) is 76 and 250lbs, with bad knees. At first, I'd either fall the last three inches, hopefully onto the seat, or need some sort of support to get on and off. I solved that problem by wrapping an old belt around the body (see pic), which I could use as a grab bar to lower myself on and lift myself off. If Sunny would put a grab handle on the front, that would be a big help, and save on belts. A secondary issue is the LCD display. Others have complained that it's not bright enough. The real problem is that it's at the wrong angle. I repurposed a chunk of plastic foam packing to lift the bottom enough to make it clearly visible when seated. Sunny could duplicate that with a simple folding frame. I should also note that the labeling on the display is wrong. Label says: Time, Count, Total Count, Calories. Actual is: Time, Count, Calories, Total Count. Finally, I note that almost all of the self-help videos on rowing emphasize managing your strokes per minute. The display doesn't show that. I'd be willing to give up both Total Count and Calories to get that in the display. After all, Total Count is only useful if you are the only person using the machine, and Calories are pretty much a meaningless guess without information like body weight. ... show more
