  • Great manual treadmill
Style: Manual
I’ve had this treadmill for almost a year now, so I feel I can give a good report of my experience with it. Pros: * Because this treadmill is manual, There is no motor to burn out. My previous treadmill died quickly and we learned that a lot of folding treadmill motors burn out easily. * This gives me a very good workout. Since the treadmill is at a constant incline, the workout is much difficult than a normal treadmill. I’m usually very sweaty around the 15/20 minute mark. To be frank, it kicks my butt. * Since this treadmill folds, it has a very small footprint. I live in a very small house and can’t have a dedicated space for a large treadmill. This folds up easily and fits into my corner so that it’s out of the way. It takes me seconds to set up. Cons: * Since you use your own momentum and body weight to propel your self forward- you cannot let go of the sidebars as it will increase the speed exponentially. This has given me back pain and doesn’t give me the level of freedom I want. I bought an exercise belt with clips that I can clip onto the metal bar in front of me to hold me In so I can let go of the bars. This has also reduced my back pain! * The screen is pretty meh. I don’t use it at all to be honest. I found many times that it would not have reset properly between sessions, even with me clearing it. When I have the lights off (while watching TV) I cannot see it at all. This isn’t a huge deal for me since I don’t use it much. Overall, I love this thing. It’s a good workout in my bedroom that doesn’t take up a lot of space. With a few tweaks it is exactly as I want it to be! ... show more

  • Great quality!
Style: Manual
When the equipment arrived, I did not expect it to be quite so big or heavy! (I hope the UPS person did not have a hernia after delivering it..) It arrived a day earlier than expected. The packaging, instructions and equipment were excellent-once I got it into the house (be forewarned, it is not small or light but it can be managed by one person if you live in a one floor house or apartment) and unwrapped it from its very study packaging, I was pleased to see the instructions were in not only English but 4 other languages as well. The instructions were clear, precise and I did appreciate that the tools for the set up of the treadmill were included as well! The tools and assorted pieces of hardware were well packaged and marked-it took me about an hour by myself to assemble it. I will admit that if a buyer does put it together to have help. Being alone I had no choice and the only difficulty I really had in assembling it was in lifting up the actual board to line it up with screw holes to fasten it onto. Otherwise the assembly process went smoothly. Also, even with the tools provided, I used a socket wrench just to make sure the bolts were on tightly enough. I have worked out at least once on the treadmill, and have found it to be challenging but not difficult to stay on or to keep it moving-the board does have 'step off' spaces for one to use to stop the machine once you want to stop exercising. I will be using it in conjunction with my previous purchase of a second hand Sunny exercise bike to get a proper workout. All in all, this is an excellently made product and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a serious workout to buy it. There is a weight limitation for it, but I found that being small and under the weight listed worked out well for me. Also that it is not dependent on electricity is an excellent selling point. One should not have to pay the light company for the exercise you get on it. One small quibble I would have is that the electronic clock/stopwatch should have a back light to read it by while using the equipment. I clipped on a portable light to read it with as a solution. Otherwise, it an excellent purchase, well worth the time, effort and money to put it together and use. I consider it to be worth every penny it cost and that the Sunny company is an excellent equipment manufacturer-they take the time to put together a well-crafted product that will last a lifetime. ... show more

  • Good price
Style: Manual
I've been deluged with the DeerRun walking pad ads on Facebook. I've never really been interested in treadmills before, mostly because they seemed way too expensive and way too heavy/unwieldy. But I peeked at Amazon to check out "walking pads." I might have gone with the DeerRun, but I knew I would need handlebars which jacked the price way up for them. Enter the Sunny treadmill. The non-motorized aspect appealed to me very much (weighs less, fewer things to break down). I've known about non-motorized treadmills but mostly the fancy curved ones that cost a month's rent (also I'm not at all a runner, so that level of sophistication would be wasted on my slower pace). I was pleasantly surprised to see this one at such an affordable price. I've bought other Sunny Fitness products and have never been disappointed in their quality for the price. This was super simple to assemble. Basically attach the base and the handles and you're good to go. (The instructions advise 2 people for the job, but it turns out the styrofoam packing that comes with it is the perfect size to slide under the main body to hold it up while you screw things in.) The main body is not heavy at all. I could easily carry it around with one arm (I'm a fairly out-of-shape woman in my mid 50s, although I've always been a little stronger than my peers). Unfortunately when you attach the other parts it becomes pretty unwieldy (I had to carry it upstairs to my office. Still do-able alone, albeit slowly). At first I thought the incline was adjustable as there are two holes on the left side with a pull-out pin, but these seem to just be to secure the main body in the up or down position (honestly, I don't see the reason for this. It's not positioned correctly to hold it in the upright position, and with the body down on the floor it's really not going anywhere. Certainly not back up!) I'm just enough out of shape that even this tiny incline kicks my butt and makes me feel a little unsafe with sliding off the back. I created a DIY solution by leveling it off with some very heavy solid shelves I had. Probably not OSHA approved, but it feels safe enough for me. (Use this idea at your own risk.) The great: It folds up and down very easily and smoothly, and in the folded position it fits perfectly against the wall in my office. The non-motorized belt works pretty smoothly as well, once you get going, and of course stops even easier. It's very quiet. I used it with my partner sleeping in the next room and she couldn't hear a thing. Also no floor vibrations at all, another concern as we share a duplex and I know how annoying vibrations from neighbors can be. You can run on it (well, jog. Like I said, the only thing that will get me to run is if I'm being chased). The weight limit is 220 pounds, and I'm right there on the edge. I don't feel like I'm taxing it at all, so maybe even a little heavier would be manageable. The not so good: Pretty much the only bad thing I can think of is the handlebars. They do the job, but they aren't rock solid. If you pull back hard enough they do lift up off the floor a little. But at this price point you have to expect some compromise. That's really the only drawback I can think of. But again, at this price I wasn't expecting commercial gym quality. I didn't even bother attaching the "computer" because I don't care about that data and I already have a fitness watch. I saw a surprising number of these available used on Facebook Marketplace, so reach your own conclusions about that (people unhappy with the quality or people who gave up on using it?) I preferred a new unit because the price was so reasonable. So far I'm very happy with my purchase! ... show more
