I have an old McCulloch MCS2001 14 amp Electric Chipper/Shredder and these replacement blades are PERFECT. I sharpen my own blades but they are getting a little small. Wanting an extra set of blades (my chipper takes two), I thought this was an excellent price for blades for a chipper that I am very happy with. Boy was I surprised upon receiving only one blade. Yes, it was my mistake for not reading the product description better, and not reading the reviews. I decided it is best to look at the overall value proposition of this. My Sun Joe chipper was one third the cost of the last professional I had come out to lightly trim low hanging branches (that got in the way of mowing) on a few of our trees. Replacement blades for the chipper, at $10 per blade, are a SMALL fraction of what it cost to have a professional come out. Therefore, I am very happy to pay $10 per blade. I will order one more blade now so that I have a set of two in reserve. My review is not a knock on my Sun Joe chipper. I wait a while before reviewing things so I can get plenty of use out of them first. Sun Joe went out of their way to engineer an inexpensive chipper that works fine for what I use it for.     • Not very cheap but still worse it
Somehow one of the blades chipped after one week. I rotated it to use a second cutting side and was thinking it will completely destroyed soon. Decided to buy a replacement blade but after 3 month my broken original blade still work fine.

    • A bit pricey for just one blade, but quality is okay...
I have no complaints about the blade itself - it's sharp and the quality seems good. But I didn't read the description carefully - I had assumed that I was getting a SET of blades, not just a single blade. (The machine takes two blades, I just assumed that I was getting two blades when I ordered.) Ten or twelve bucks seems fair for two blades, but kind of pricey for just one. I'm sure there's more that goes into the production of the blades than I imagine, but... Oh well. I've used my little electric Chipper Joe quite a bit in the past month, and I'm having troubles keeping the blades sharp. They stay pretty aggressive when I'm going through lighter wood (willow, willow hybrid, etc.) or green wood, but if you try to chew through dead hardwood (I'm going through a lot of ash) the blades dull up within half an hour of use. ... show more

    • OEM replacement blades
OEM replacement blade, bolts in and works a a OEM blade should, no issues there. But why do the sell these as "1" when you need 2 per unit? And screws are also extra. I also purchased non OEM blades, two blades plus screws for less than OEM price🤔

    • Better than generic blades
The sun Joe brand blades have a slight curve at each end that adds a little extra metal between the edge and the mounting hole. This gives the sun Joe blades extra strength that the generics missing due to their straight ends. Read the reviews of the generics and you'll see a lot of people complaining that the blades break. This is my third set of son Joe blades and I've never had an issue with the blades cracking. They cost a little more but they definitely seem to last a long time. You can re-sharpen them, and the blades are double-sided so you can flip them over and use The cutting edge on the other side as well. ... show more
