  • Great bed but get your own wall anchors.
What a great queen murphy bed! I put it together by myself, but took a few hours(prob 6 total, taking my time). Definitely secure it to the wall with your own wall anchors because the ones they give u suck. Just one step should have changed... someone else mentioned it in their comment. The step where u put the wooden grip-things on the underside of the bed (actual front side u see when closed), it makes it difficult to assemble the rest of the bed because it can't lay flat. I purchased a 6 in foam mattress, put fluffy mattress topper on it and it's very comfortable and fits. Great value for what you get. And u will definitely need another person to lift and place into the holder thing, cause it's giant and heavy. But very easy to open and close alone. ... show more

  • No instruction manual and a lot of pieces..
Initially didn’t come with instruction manual and a piece was broken and another missing. I was able to use some spare screws that I had to complete the build as I was using it as a built in rather than it being standalone. Customer service was helpful and provided the instructions as a PDF so I didn’t have to wait long to build it. The bed itself seems sturdy and has a good look. ... show more

  • ** CONSUMER SAFETY WARNING - PRODUCT SHOULD BE RECALLED **
** CONSUMER SAFETY WARNING - PRODUCT SHOULD BE RECALLED ** I laid out the details in a video, but Amazon's site keeps telling me "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again." I'll keep trying the video, but in the meantime... I'll quickly lay out the main issues with this bed. 1. Most important is the flawed design of this bed's legs. When the legs are loaded under the weight of the mattress and the person(s) sleeping on the bed, the legs want to rotate back into their stored position. Not good. This bed has collapsed on us 3 separate times. The issue is especially on smooth, polished, non-carpeted floors, because there's very little friction to resist the rotational tendency of the legs. This is an unsafe product as currently designed. The only way to make it safe is to pin the legs to the bed frame when the bed is in use. This would require drilling a hole through both the leg and the bed pan / frame. 2. The bed develops a severe sag in both directions when someone sleeps in it. The reinforcing of the bed pan that the mattress rests in is inadequate. You could reinforce it with a sheet of 3/4" - 1" plywood, but that will add substantial weight to the bed. It will be difficult for most people to handle that weight, especially if you decide to add the pins to the legs (as mentioned above) because you'll need to hold the weight of the bed pan, mattress, and plywood as you walk from one leg to the other to pull the pins out so you can fold up the legs. 3. Because of the stress and strain on the legs, and their tendency to rotate back into their stored position, there's a lot of relative movement between the parts that comprise the legs, as well as between the legs and the frame they attach to. As a result, the legs sort of collapse or squish down a good amount, and these means the front edge of the bed is too low to the ground. So you're sleeping on a gradual hill. 4. The paint finish is just terrible, especially on the large, inset flat panels. It seems like they lightly primed them, but never painted them. Buyer beware. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for.
The assembly is probably at least 4-5 hours. Make sure you pull out all the pieces and organize them in their letter categories. Some of the stickers were faded or ripped which made it difficult to identify some of the pieces. Also, they numbering of the hardware was a bit difficult to figure out as well. One of the annoying things is trying to get the springs attached to the frame before the bed is attached to the wall. The process was cumbersome and not very well thought out. Also, the legs are a poor design as well. One last thing, our door doesn't completely shut when in the closed position, so I need to put a latch to hold it closed flush. Overall, a decent product, but certainly some big design flaws. ... show more

  • Patience
Who ever will be one to assemble this thing need a lot of patience… I finish this after 4 hours… needs to read and focus where you will put the screws.. one mistake will ruin the whole thing… the quality is nice the size is very nice for small space.. the value of the money quit ok…

  • Not sturdy
Purchased this for our spare room. Item took all day long to put together and there was 3 of us. It holds our queen size mattress and closes nicely but I would be afraid to have some one actually sleep on it. The outer door seems very flimsy that the mattress lays on. When my husband laid on it you can see the wall underneath bulging out and he is under 200 pounds. I don’t see how this would hold anymore weight than this. We are going to get some ply wood and try to make the inner wall where mattress lays stronger as it did take a long time to put together. Also the legs slide up not very sturdy. Overall I don’t feel it’s sturdy enough for any adult without modifications. ... show more

  • Murphy bed
Nice bed

  • Legs mechanism not so attractive
Installation was quite challenging—I ended up hiring someone to do it, which I think is fairly typical for Murphy beds. The lifting mechanism works well, but the legs are the main reason I’m giving this 2-star rating. As others have mentioned, the leg design is problematic: if you tighten them fully for stability, they become difficult to move in and out during use. If you loosen them slightly, the bed becomes unstable. I weigh only 124 lbs, yet every morning the legs end up crooked and need to be readjusted. Additionally, I bought an 8-inch mattress, but there's too much empty space, so the mattress slips every time I close the bed into the wall. It seems the frame could accommodate up to a 12-inch mattress, which might resolve the slipping issue. The delivery was fast though, and no missing parts. ... show more
