  • Worked perfectly but.......
The gas mileage I lost from having these on my car was insane. Almost to the point I thought something was wrong with my car. They work really well and hold snowboards and skis in place but in my opinion, not worth losing the fuel efficiency in my car. If you have a bunch of people and need the room , then these will be perfect and have everyone chip in for gas. Otherwise, the back seats of my forester will be down and my snowboard inside the car. ... show more

  • Such a great buy!!
This product made it effortless to carry four snowboards. Even fit two snowboards and a set of skis. Easy open and close but I just have used them for season 2021-2022. No regrets with this purchase. Highly recommend this Thule carrier, fits perfect on my crosstrek.

  • Impressed with how easy this is to install and use!
I bought this for my 2019 Subaru Ascent before a quick ski trip (around an hour's drive). We fit 2 snowboards and 1 set of skis and still would've had enough room for another pair of skis. There is cushioning in the clamps so nothing rattled around. There was definitely some added 'road noise' as we were driving, but not unexpected with anything on the roof. It was so easy to attach this rack to my crossbars, took me maybe 10 minutes and a small step ladder to get it installed. Getting the skis/boards in and out was a breeze too, I was able to do it at the lodge without a ladder by just standing on the open 2nd row doorframe. It's a simple push-button to pop open the clamps that hold the skis, I could even do it with cold, wet hands; my teenage daughter was able to open it & to get their snowboards up on the rack by herself too! I'm super impressed and even though I am not normally a "brand snob", I would highly recommend buying this one over cheaper alternatives simply because it's so solid, easy to use, and I have a feeling it will last for many ski trips to come! ... show more

  • Awesome rack for the Crosstrek
My daughter skis and I snowboard. This is a great rack to fit all of the bulky equipment on top, securely and with security in mind. We used this with a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek with the aero bars that came with the car. Tips: The picture helps show that the key side is on the driver side (opens on driver side), but it can be set on either side. The instructions mention that the tips should be pointed back, whereas the picture shows otherwise. Just be sure that the hatchback can open without hitting the skis. When locking the rack to the aero bars, you can tighten the knobs close, lock it with the key, and turn the knobs until it clicks (notches on knob align). ... show more

  • Racks working great.
I just finished a long ski week with this rack and it works great with my 2012 Subaru Forester with the Subaru cross bars (purchased directly from Subaru). It only takes a few minutes to install the racks on the Subaru and tighten and lock them down. The locks on the units all work great (these have only been used for a short period of time though so I don't know what long term use might be like). Two keys are provided with the racks. The racks come with other hardware to attach to different types of crossbars, but I can't speak to those. Overall I am very happy with the way this rack works. I've only have four pairs of skis in mine, but there is plenty of room and the skis are held very very tightly. ... show more

  • They work great, a bit noisy
I got this product for my wife, she loves to snowboard. They are very easy to install and adjust. They lock both on the crossbar and also at the snowboard/skii clamps. 2 separate keys. They are very sturdy, well built and feel very secure. We are able to fit 4 snowboards. The only con I can think of, is that when you go over 70mph they are noisy. Also, obviously, if you are out on a very windy day. Other than that, they are perfect! ... show more

  • Happy.
I haven’t used this yet as ski season isn’t for a couple of months but I have opened it. The instructions were easy to follow, everything seems to be in working order. I installed one rack myself, just to see if things were ok. It was easy to install and I don’t anticipate having any trouble come ski season. I researched many ski racks before settling with this one. I have installed OEM Subaru cross bars and opted for this ski rack. So far I am very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Works Great, On/Off Easy
This was easy to put on our stock 2016 Subaru Outback roof rails, easy to put the skis in, easy to lock and unlock, and easy to remove when we were done. We drove several hundred miles in storms and there wasn't a hint of a rattle with 3 different sized pairs of skis at highway speeds, on good roads. Nobody messed with the racks while we had our car parked for 4 days in ski country with the racks on top, which was a concern. My other concern is how long will the flexible rubber straps that hold it to our roof rack last. ... show more
