This Edge Booster works pretty good on my hair. My stylist uses a razor to cut my hair so sometimes I need a little something to help my hair lay down in some spots, especially after a fresh cut. In other areas I need a little spike or boost and this product works well for that as well. It is much less sticky than what I currently am using, and it smells great. Might I add that the price point is much less, as well, than what I currently use. This product lasts all day, does not leave a sticky residue (I use a tiny bit at a time), and holds my hair great. I am definitely switching to this product for good once my current product runs out.

I’ve used other Style Factor Edge Booster gels and have had great results. I needed something to manage flyaways when wearing a ponytail or controlling my edges. This gel has a pleasant scent and a slightly thicker consistency than some of the one I currently have, making it more effective for my needs. After applying the product, I experienced an all-day hold without any sticky or hard residue. This left my hair moisturized and looking fresh throughout the day. Since it works so well, you only need a small amount, which makes the pricing reasonable considering the container size and usage. I recently found out that there’s a huge difference between the edge booster with the black top and the edge booster with a colored top(the top and the jar are the same color). The black tops are water based, and the colored tops are oil based. The oil based edge booster has a much stronger and longer lasting hold than the water based. The oil based works best for coarse hair, the hold is more secure. The water based is soft and doesn’t hold my 4c hair in place for long. The only thing that is the same is the scent, they both smell amazing. The water based edge control also leaves a white residue when it dries. So with that being said, this edge control didn’t work for me and my 4c hair at all. I’ll definitely be sticking to the colored tops.

This edge control is one of the only things that works slicking my 4b/4c edges. It holds all day and stands up against humidity. The texture is very lightweight and it always gives my baby hairs a nice shine. The scent is also very light, so it's not overpowering at all. The only thing I will say is that it can leave a white buildup from time to time. Other than that, I love it. This is my holy grail.
