CHI 44 Iron Guard has been our go-to heat protectant for years, and we absolutely love it. If you are looking for a lightweight, quality heat protectant— then CHI 44 Iron Guard is the perfect solution for you. I have tried many different heat protectants over the years and nothing ever seems to compare to how well this product works for my long, fine hair. I always try to make sure that I protect my hair as much as I can from heat damage, and I’ve noticed a significantly less amount of split ends when using heat tools or styling vs. using no protectant/ other brands. The smell is super pleasant and it goes on very easy. I either spray it about 6 to 12 inches away from my hair and then brush in before using, or I will pump it into my hands and run it through my hair like that. A little goes a long way, and it’s definitely a staple in my hair care regimen. I also like to put it in my hair on sunny days to give it that extra bit of protection from the sun. I find that it keeps my hair feeling soft, and not like there’s any product in it, as well as keeping frizz control down to a minimum when straightening or curling it. Yup. This heat protectant is GREAT. So far, so good, and my hair has little to no damage even though I straighten my curly hair pretty much everyday on the highest heat setting on my straightener. I use this heat protectant, though, and it works wonders. It’s lightweight, and smells sooooo good and fresh that I’ve literally had someone ask me what perfume I’m wearing when I’m not wearing any perfume and this is the only product with the fresh smell that I use. It makes my hair super shiny and glossy, too, and is honestly the perfect product!! The only things I would say are that if you spray too much in one area it will make your hair pretty wet, but it’s quick drying so it’s usually not a problem for me, and another thing is that my hair usually doesn’t hold its shape after I use it (which might also be because of my bad hairspray…). For those reasons, that’s why I am not rating it a 5/5 stars, because although it does the job pretty well, it’s not perfect. ... show more

I have 4C/4B (coily) hair and this gets protectant worked wonders! You don’t need to apply a lot, a small amount works perfectly fine. If you put too much, it will get sticky so I suggest putting a little bit. It smells really good!

I've been using this heat protectant for a while now, and I'm really happy with it. It sprays on evenly and doesn't leave my hair feeling sticky or weighed down. My hair feels softer and looks smoother after I style it, and I've noticed less frizz, too. The scent is really nice without being overpowering. I use it every time before blow-drying or straightening my hair, and it gives me peace of mind knowing I'm protecting my hair from heat damage. I love the smell of this product and used to use it all the time to protect my hair from heat styling. However, now when I use it it makes my hair very stiff and dry. It seems it may have had a formula change of some kind.
