  • Reliable hold for the last 10 years
Style: Jojoba and Sea Kelp Hairspray
I’ve been using this hairspray for 10 years, and honestly, nothing else comes close. The hold is perfect for my hair and even works great for styling my three little boys’ hair. I love that it keeps hair in place all day without feeling stiff or sticky, and the fresh citrus scent is a nice bonus. The infusion of jojoba oil and sea kelp helps keep hair looking healthy, and it’s safe for all hair types. Buying the 3-pack is a great value since we go through it quickly in our household. Can’t beat this hairspray — it’s been a staple for years! ... show more

  • High hold hair spray
Style: Jojoba and Sea Kelp Hairspray
Good value high hold hair spray. Our girls are in ballet and use this all the time to keep strays in place and get a well shaped hair bun. It works great leaves hair shiny and keeps hair in place. Hair dries quickly. The cans are a good size as well.

  • Solid hold
Style: Jojoba and Sea Kelp Hairspray
This is our favorite hairspray. It hold really well. My husband doesn’t like his hair to move at all and this one will do it. Great size. He uses it daily and a can will last him a month or so. Good value. I also like the smell. It’s a must for us.

  • Thank You, Aussie!
Style: Jojoba and Sea Kelp Hairspray
This hair spray is fabulous! I've used it for years. A few years ago, they changed the formula & it was not a good move. My hair was sticky & just didn't hold the style. Now they've changed it back & it performs as good as it did a few years ago. Thank you, Aussie!

  • Insane matte hold
Style: Jojoba and Sea Kelp Hairspray
This hairspray is actually really good. It’s the only spray that holds my hair in place for my 12 hour shifts. It also has more of a matte finish so my hair doesn’t look greasy. The only downside is that the spray bottle itself is super pressurized so the spray is very direct and doesn’t have a good spread. If the bottle had more of a wider spread then it would be perfect because sometimes it sprays so much so fast that it causes parts of my hair to look like glue ... show more

  • Does Your Can Clog Up? *Second Update*: I Found Our Old Formula!
Style: Jojoba and Sea Kelp Hairspray
I have used this hairspray since it came on the market. I always set the can upright on my vanity… Until I started tossing it in a wicker basket full of some beauty supplies, and it started clogging up, and the cans became useless. I tried everything to make them work again — although for me now, if the can sits Upright on any surface it never did clog-up again. It contains very small fibers of copolymers within its formula and cannot be rectified if they bunch-up somewhere in the spray system, which I could not get to. I would buy it in a store so it is already upright, however if shipped, spray it first then let it sit upright for a while before using, and I have never had this problem again… I hope this helps with the clogging/non-spraying issue. It did the trick for me, anyhow. Keep the can upright, and I have no problems with this any longer as far as clogging is concerned. I hope this little tip works for you too! Sheryl. *6/23/2023 Update* I have since been using the hairspray, and it is extremely WATERY with it being the First Ingredient listed (?) What have they done to the formula that I (we ALL) have been counting on for decades? I have now joined the others who have tried to find something anywhere similar to what this used to be: Buyer Beware!!! Why increase the ounces with WATER to increase the PRICE, Aussie? I would have much rather paid a price increase on the 7oz can than now play with Fools Gold! Purchase the older 7oz cans in three packs from other sellers as they show the ingredient list for you to see that it is the old formula: No Water listed first but Alcohol! Now, Too Pricey: although it is always the best on the market for hairsprays in my opinion. Hope this helps. *10/04/2024 NEW Update* My husband has found the OLD Formula in our local 'Walgreen's' Pharmacy. Yes! It is in a 10oz can, with the new design, however, Turn it Over… The Ingredient's list starts with Alcohol, and continues on with all we are used to (including the *copolymers which kept our hairspray Our Favorite). The Old Reliable Formula is packaged in The 10oz and Newly designed can. I have since used it, and it definitely IS what we were hoping for. I am over the moon! And, it was on sale for $5.99 a can. I will be going back to clean out our local store tomorrow. Good luck to my fellow, frustrated seekers, as I think we have found what happened: enough complaining and not purchasing their new, watered-down, and unjustly sold formula to us any longer! I Really Hope this helps you… I will also keep updating if there are any more changes, finds, or if anything changes with Our Formula from where It was purchased. ***I didn't need to 'clean out the store' as I talked to the manager and this is the only formula they will be stocking now. They, too, have heard all of US and are stocking it with the old/now always formula all together. I have repurchased the hairspray two more times, and it appears he has told me the accurate information. I'm keeping Hopeful — you all, as I, have to be getting as tired of searching as I had become, or reading anymore *Updates!! Although for this hairspray, which I have used since its genesis named 'Instant Freeze' in large cans; I was relentless to find it again too… And, Yay, what a find! Sheryl ... show more

  • They ruined it
Style: Jojoba and Sea Kelp Hairspray
When I found out that the Aussie hairspray I had been using for over a decade changed packaging I was nervous - and I was right to be. Unfortunately with the packaging update, they also COMPLETELY changed the formula. They got rid of the Australian sea kelp and the jojoba oil and completely watered down the newer version. What they changed about the formula made it incredibly heavy and sticky, rather than the fine, light mist the original formula sprayed out. When I tried the updated formula, because of how heavy and sticky the hairspray is, completely clogged the sprayer, forcing me to have to pull sticky dried gunk off of the sprayer. I even had bought the newer version at two different stores to see if there was a difference in quality and the same thing kept happening, to the point where the sprayer, internally, was so clogged it wouldn't spray anymore and I had to return a can to one of the stores I bought it from. The original formula was so light yet so strong when it came to the hold, honestly it was perfect and I have no idea what there was to improve about it. I was able to do a variety of hair styles both up and down that would last the entire day without any flyaways or even give the appearance of having used hair spray. With the new formula, the heaviness of it would completely weigh down my already fine hair. It would look greasy and not stay where I put it at all. Plus, the smell is terrible. The original had a way better scent that wasn't so in your face and was actually pretty pleasant to smell. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Well, Aussie/Proctor and Gamble, you broke it. This was hardly a formula update. You created a completely new product and replaced something that had worked for over a decade, for me anyway. The reason I even started using this hairspray a decade ago was because of a formula change in a hairspray I was using from Suave and now you guys have ruined another great product for me. If you wanted to launch a new product, you could have launched an entire line of new hairsprays rather than completely eliminating something that worked, and worked well. If anyone's curious about a product similar to the original Aussie extreme hold hairspray, I found that the Kenra Professional Ultra Freeze Spray (30) is the closest one. I tried a bunch of different hairsprays because I'm very enthusiastic about my hair care/styles. Yes. I would rather pay $22 for a product that works, than $5-7 (or whatever the new price is, I haven't bought it in a while) for a product to maintain brand loyalty. What I did do when I realized how terrible the new formula was is I bought as many of the original formula from this listing that I could until they ran out. I don't even know how much I have but I've got a stock pile of the OG hairspray and have already figured out the brand I'll replace it with once I run out. I won't be messing with Aussie anymore. Hopefully this helps. ... show more
