  • Solid, rugged, easy to install, easy to use, great flashlight, strobe and laser all in one easy to use product
This is a Streamlight so it's a got a good reputation. Definitely rugged and and easily detachable. Everything about it is quality. I find it easy to use. Other reviews indicate that it is difficult to get the strobe to work but I have no problems with it at all. The trick is to quickly depress the left hand side (looking at it from the rear) and then quickly press it again AND HOLD IT DOWN for a second or sol. I think many people miss that step. It has to be be held on the second push for a second. I like the fact that it is a very powerful flashlight and a really impressive strobe as well as a good laser. It is also eay to use each function independently. I have no problems giving this 5 stars. Solid, rugged, reliable, easy to use and I have tried different ones in the past. I like this one the best. ... show more

  • Strobe function is very easy to use!
This is a great light/laser combo that I almost didn't buy because of the reviews that stated the strobe is difficult to operate. I mean no disrespect to any of the other reviewers, but I want to tell you that from my experience (I've had this less than a month now) the strobe is very easy to use if you do it properly. I use the thumb of my left hand (I'm right handed) to operate the switch. I'm not sure why anyone would try to operate the switch with their trigger finger as I don't believe it's safe or efficient. All you do is tap the switch down once and then quickly tap and hold it again for the strobe. To activate the strobe in constant mode you do the first two steps I mentioned above: (tap down, tap and hold) and then you flip the switch up to have it strobe in constant mode. With a day or two of practice you should be able to activate the strobe 99% of the time. The light is very bright. Just to test it out, I had my wife hold it and I looked at it for just a second and I was disoriented for several minutes. This was during the day and without the strobe function so I can only imagine what it would do to someone at night. The laser is also very good and shows up well during the day or night. I have seen reviews of the light and laser together on a YouTube video and you can't really see the laser when the light is on, but live it is very easy to see the laser when the light is on. The unit is easy to put on or take off and It took about 5 minutes to dial in the laser at the range. Thie TLR2s is built very well. If you are in the market for a quality light/laser combo, look no further than the TLR2s. You won't be disappointed! ... show more

  • You Play the Way You Practice.
I recently purchased a new gen. 4 Glock 22. It has the mounting rail built into the frame (for those unfamiliar). I started researching the options that can be mounted on the rail. I quickly zeroed in on the Streamlight TLR-1S & TLR-2S as my finalists. Streamlight offers a smartly designed, solid, well built product with tight tolerances. Somewhat of a rarity in today's consumer market, flooded with less than acceptable, Asian knockoffs, that more crappy than cheap. For me, I wanted a strobe option; a laser was a potential bonus. My choice was between the TLR-1S (no laser) and the TLR-2S (with laser), the laser does add both a price and size/weight component. I will not be carrying it daily and if I need it in a moment of crisis, I prefer the deck stacked as far in my favor as possible. What's up with the title of this review? Many of the previous reviewers mentioned the trickiness of the controls, when using the strobe mode. That held up my decision for a few weeks. In the end I determined that I need to apply the same reasoning to this light as I would any firearm purchase. First, is it a high quality and reliable item? Yes it is, I read at least 100 reviews on many sites; it is state of the art. Second, am I willing and able to put in the practice time to be both confident and competent with it? Yes I can/will, that is a non-negotiable piece of the equation. Finally, does it essentially "fail safe"? Yes, even if you fail to double tap the switch fast enough to put it in strobe mode, the light and laser still switch on, just not in strobe mode. All in all it is great product that will do what is supposed to do, if you do what you are supposed to do. Practice regularly. ... show more

  • AWESOME
What ever you do, don't cheap out on your home defense! This product is top of the line. Super bright LED, and strobe function works flawlessly. The toggle switch for lazer only, LED only, or both is a great feature. Batteries last forever, 4 years and still using the original two. When I purchased this, the green lazer wasn't out yet, if it was, I would have gotten it, as the red is harder to see while target shooting in the daylight. The only con with this light is its size, making it hard to use with a CCW, or finding a holster. I have it on my Beretta PX4 Storm and I use a nylon holster while hunting, or on late night service calls to tower sites. Other than that it's in my nightstand ready to protect my family. With out a doubt, the best product on the market. You pay for what you get, and with this you're still getting a great deal! ... show more

  • Best light you can get!
I would say this is by far the best light you can get for a pistol. If you have to go under water it takes just a few sec to take it off and put back on. Very freaking bright! Has strobe momentary and light momentary with laser momentary. also on same paddle switch that moves left for momentary and right for constant on. constant on laser and constant on light. fits most everything. mine came out of the box with Glock style mount already so it just went right on no problem. As far as the paddle switch, it is very easy to use to do strob and on. there is a toggle switch in the middle, right below the paddle switch that switches between laser, light, laser and light. 2 tap the paddle switch to the left and you get strob, Very easy to use. ... show more

  • Pretty good, but could be better.
I have both the TRL1 and the TLR-1s. The strobe feature on this one is much more difficult to use. You have to tap the switch quite fast in order to get the strobe to work. Much faster than the TLR-1s. I don't know why they changed that, but it was not a good idea. It makes it more difficult to use especially with one finger on your grip hand. Second, the switch on the bottom that controls the laser/light mode cannot be used with your trigger finger. You need the use of your off had to use this thing, both for the switch and to use the strobe feature. It's easier to move the switch fast enough to get the strobe to work using two fingers on your off hand. The best way I have found is to tap the light to the temp/on position twice to get the strobe working, then quickly flip it down to the constant-on position, that will make it continue to strobe. This unit seems to be just as bright and well made as the TLR-1 (VERY bright), but the laser does not seem as bright as either lasermax or crimson trace. That's odd because both of those use much smaller batteries. I don't think this would be much use at all outside during the day. Of course the laser is below the light, which makes it a few inches lower than the bore, something that has to be compensated for. It's a little high priced for what I is. Ok it's a lot high priced. That combined with the before mentioned issues makes me want to give it 3 stars, but I think that would mean it kinda sucks. I don't think it sucks, but it could be better, and it's too expensive. But that said it is well made and works good, even if you need to use your other hand instead of just your trigger finger. ... show more

  • Awesome tac light
I did a lot of looking around before I decided this tac light was the one for me. I can't see why so many people have trouble activating the strobe. I activate it using my left hand thumb to push the left side toggle down then the right hand index finger to push the right side toggle down. This locks the strobe on,very easy. The light is extremely bright, wide spot, lights up the whole room. The laser is very bright in all but direct sunlight at longer distances. It is after all made for a pistol but would work well on a rifle. If you want a laser for longer distances in direct sunlight you would be better off with a viridian laser, but for a pistol this laser light combo is awesome. The first time I tried it out with live ammo it would lose it's zero, just a little bit. The clamp screw looks like it was designed to be tightened with a coin. "Not tight enough" I tightened it up a little bit more with a screwdriver and haven't had that problem since. All in all a great tac light. ... show more

  • Works Great and Fit Perfectly
I am very pleased with this product. I know there were complaints about the location of the switch but I think it placed just right. If it was more accessible it would get bumped and changed all the time not to mention broken. The lamp is very bright and the strobe would be very effective. The red laser is great also. Be sure and read the book so you know how to align the laser with your desired impact point. Then go to the range and practice, practice, practice! ... show more
