  • Exceptional Light
Color: Black Mounting Type: Rail-Lock Mount Set name: Hybrid Beam
This is a very bright light that just feels and feels like solid quality. I have it mounted on a Glock 17 and it fits perfectly. Pros: Solid, quality construction Metal housing Lightweight Bright Easy to operate Easy to install/remove Balance It just feels like a solid light, and even looking at it in the package you could tell it would be a quality product. The aluminum body is strong and makes the whole unit lightweight. This light is very bright and is pretty easy to turn on with one finger. Momentary on is accomplished by pushing the switch forwards (towards the lens) and is easily accomplished with an outstretched finger without changing grip. Constant on requires spinning the switch clockwise OR counterclockwise. I was able to do this with the same single finger as momentary on. Using the lever lock, it's easy and quick to install and remove the light. Just pull down on the lever and slide it on/off. The other mounting method, the Rail-Lock, is also easy to install. The Rail-Lock is similar to the lever lock in that it locks into a rail slot but you need to use an allen wrench to tighten a sort of friction lock against the weapon. Both are very solid mounting options though. This light doesn't weigh much, 4 ounces according to SureFire, but it does help balance the weapon in hand. Cons: No light lockout Changing batteries requires removing the unit from the weapon No strobe Expensive There is no lockout on the light, so it is possible that the light could get turned on accidentally in a weapons case or bag. Changing the battery does require removal of the light from the weapon. On a pistol it would most likely be backed up to the trigger guard, and on a rifle the battery door opens towards the rail and thus cannot open far enough to remove the battery. If you install this light on a rail riser, you may be able to open the door without removing the unit. However, as I said above, it's very easy to install and remove the unit so this is not too much of a problem. This unit does not have strobe, it wasn't advertised to have it but some of the other light in this range to have that feature. It is an expensive light for just being a light. However, for the brightness and quality of the unit I would say it is justified. Recommendations: It's an excellent light. There are brighter ones, and cheaper ones. This is the first weapon light I have used, so I cannot compare to others. However, recognizing the quality in this unit I would definitely recommend this light to others looking for one. ... show more

  • Best pistol light out there
Color: Black Mounting Type: Rail-Lock Mount Set name: Hybrid Beam
I'm a 5 year police officer with the majority of my time spent on nights. I didn't make it a year before I decided I needed a weapon mounted light for my Glock 22. I looked at the Glock light, Streamlight TLR series, Surefire X200 and the Surefire X300 (which had just come out). I did a ton of research and settled on the X300 and had the light for almost 3 years. I got out of LE and sold most of my nice toys, including the X300. Fast forward two and a half years (May 2013) and technology has made leaps and bounds in LED flashlights. I'm starting over again working nights on patrol and needed a tach light for my Glock 17, so I ordered my Surefire X300 Ultra. This light is leaps and bounds better than it's predecessor. I personally don't think it's "too bright", although I've seen that written a few times. At night, it will light up a pitch black yard on a house perimeter check or the inside of a vacant building. It's solid and as close to bulletproof as any light is going to be. It's very, very lightweight....honestly, I can just barely tell the difference in weight when the light is on there vs when it's not. 500 lumens is truly retina burning. For those who work days, you need a light as well. It's nice to have a free hand to open doors on a house or building search and we all know it's dark in there as well, even when it's daylight outside. You don't have to be a cop. This light is perfect as a home defense pistol, resting insid a quick access safe or on a nightstand. The whole purpose of having a light attached to your pistol is to have both hands there to support your pistol grip. If the SHTF and you need to crank rounds off, you're going to want that extra control of your pistol to recover from recoil and put more accurate rounds on target. It has adjustable Allen screws, and comes with the wrech in the package, to adjust the tightness in which it attaches to your weapon. I loosened my considerably so that it's easier to get off when I want to carry my G17 as a CCW in an IWB holster. When it's back on duty or on the shelf, it slides right back on the pistol and you hear an audible "click" to let you know it's securely attached to the weapon. Even with the screws loosened, it has zero movement and its rock solid. Bottom line: if you want the best light out there, this is it. I use mine as a tool to bring me home safe every night, so I want the best. Surefire X300 Ultra is the best IMO. ... show more

  • Sets the standard for weapon lights
Color: Black Mounting Type: Rail-Lock Mount Set name: Hybrid Beam
Was worried that I would be buying a clone becausethe price was $100 less than everywhere else, but I got an authentic Surefire. It's bright, works and fits perfectly. Surefire sets the standard for quality and it lives up to the hype. I like the intuitive functioning of the switch press for momentary and up/down for constant, it's WAY better than Streamlight. You get what you pay for, love it so much I purchased a second one for my rifle. ... show more

  • Best on the Market
Color: Black Mounting Type: Rail-Lock Mount Set name: Turbo Beam
The X300 series is the best on the market. I own four of them with one on each 2011 pistol. The warranty is also great with Surefire. A support clip on the battery door of one of the X300’s broke off. I contacted SureFire to order a new door/switch and they mailed one at no charge. Yes the are more expensive than their competitors but I have been using SureFire lights since the 1990’s and my original Aviator light still functions well and is around 30 years old. Well worth the money!! ... show more

  • This is your pistol light.
Color: Black Mounting Type: Rail-Lock Mount Set name: Hybrid Beam
Upgraded to this light from the regular X300. I also have an older M6 and a TLR1 by Streamlight. These Surefire lights are more than the Streamlights but I truly feel they are worth it. Im an LEO with over 10 years on. I have been a proactive officer the entire time and have really put these lights through it. The TLR was a fine light but striking a window of a fleeing veh I bent the bezel. It still worked(the light, window didn't break) but bent. I also had an issue with the switch sticking in cold weather. Its never a good feeling to pull your gun and find your light is dead because the switch was stuck on. The Surefires however have never given me one issue and other than some scratches it show no signs of wear. I have beat them up and they take it like a champ. I also added the XS CSAT to the end of my X300 and plan on adding it to the X300U as well. They make breaking a window a breeze and best of all to the public it is not noticeable like swinging a baton. It also leaves your gun in hand while establishing a line of communication both visibly and verbally to the dirtbag inside the veh who is refusing to comply. They also make them for the TLR if you go that route. I am the gear guy at work and whenever I am asked what pistol light an officer should get I answer Surefire without hesitation. You will not find a better duty light to trust your life with. ... show more

  • Excellent quality and plenty of light output
Color: Black Mounting Type: Rail-Lock Mount Set name: Hybrid Beam
This tactical "flashlight" is of excellent design and comes with extra pieces to allow it to be used both on a universal rail or a Picatinny rail. All you have to do is swap out some pieces with the spares they provide. As far as the light quality, I would say the light spread is tight and of a true circular pattern. It provides you with plenty of illumination to highlight the target but with enough ambient light to see at the sides as well. Is it 500 lumens? I don't know. I have no way to measure lumens but I can say that another of my Surefire flashlights seems to provide a brighter light and at a greater distance. That light is a E2D which is listed at 200 lumens. The only thing I can say is that the E2D is a bright white light and this light under review is a slight greenish light. Perhaps that would account for the perceived brightness I seem to see. Keep in mind that it is still plenty bright and will do the job intended without a hitch. So why did i give it 4 stars and not 5? Well first of all, 4 stars still donates a good value and high quality. But it receives 4 stars because you almost have to be drunk or high to pay $200.00 plus for a light. I was neither when I bought it, I used points. Lots of points. If you can afford it without points being used, have a couple cold ones and buy it, you'll like it. ... show more

  • THE STRONGEST TOUGHEST WEAPON LIGHT EVER MADE!
Color: Black Mounting Type: Rail-Lock Mount Set name: Hybrid Beam
The Surefire X300 Ultra is the toughest/best weapons light I have ever seen. I have had the Streamlight TLR-3 and the Streamlight TLR-1HL. The Streamlight lights are not even comparable to the Surefire, the Surefire is in a realm of its own. The Streamlight is kind of like a Glock, very cheaply built and while it may work for a while has a high chance of failing while being exposed to the elements. The Surefire is like the HK, built like a tank, will take anything you can dish out and will never let you down. I have the Surefire X300 Ultra mounted to my HK 45 Tactical OD green. It fit like a glove with the "P" mount key installed. It comes installed with the "U" key so you have to change it out to the "P" if you have a picatinny rail. Once I mounted it there is no wiggle room and is solid as a brick wall. People complain about the price of this Surefire x300 ultra, but those people probably don't own the surefire because if you do own it you know every penny was worth it and it's going to last for life. Why buy a cheap Streamlight and have the chance of it failing and buying another. The Streamlights have been known to fall off during recoil with their cheap screw on mount system. The Surefire will do everything you ask it to do and ask for more. The Surefire is also covered for a lifetime no hassle warranty. If your thinking about buying this light, buy it and you will not regret it! ... show more

Awesome weapon light. Turns night into day in a room. Fits a little loose on a HK45 but no complaints.
