  • I never want another chair
Color: Licorice
I am a software engineer (and occasional gamer) who works from home, so all in, I easily spend 80 or more hours at my desk each week. I figured with all that time, and a history of back problems, that it'd be worth investing in a nice chair. After a *significant* amount of time researching, I figured the Leap would be best for me, and boy was I right. This chair is unlike anything else I've tried; once dialed in, it fits my spine like a glove and moves exactly as I move, keeping my spin in alignment throughout. You don't sink into it like a good recliner or cheaper executive chair, and instead are forced to sit straight throughout your workday, which makes all the difference. I've suffered from a sore back maybe twice in the time I've owned this chair, and each time was from me leaning forward off the chair or having my monitor too low to maintain proper posture - once I corrected that, it's been smooth sailing. Would I recommend someone drop $800-1200 on an office chair like this? I mean if you spend 40+ hours a week sitting at a desk, can *afford* to do so, and appreciate the importance of good posture, then yes I very much do! ... show more

  • Very nice
Color: Concord
After a lot of shopping through the $300-500 chair section to no avail, I took the haphazard plunge into this without ever sitting in one. Good choice. I wfh, and play at home and this thing doesn't mind if I don't stand at my desk, I still feel good after work. Enough cushion, but not so much to sink through to the chair. Adjustable support. Adjustable arms. I'm 6'2 220, and while the chair feels sturdy enough to hold two of me, I keep my desk a little higher, and I do wish the arm rests would come up just a little more. If I were just a little taller I may consider it a deal breaker, and try plus size. Watch the prices! I've seen my specific color anywhere from $730 to $1050 over the last month from Amazon, not the others. What seems like a daily price change could net some pretty big savings ... show more

  • Absolutely fantastic
Color: Concord
As a petite woman, "standard" chairs are not made to fit me. I'm 5'3", and the average chair doesn't go low enough for my feet to hit the ground, the seat is always too long for my knees to clear the end of the chair, etc. I went on a mission to find an ergonomic chair for myself, and this one seemed like a clear choice. I'm so glad I purchased it! I am able to adjust the chair to a very comfortable and ergonomic position for myself. I also suffer from chronic coccyx pain due to an automobile accident a few years ago, and this chair does not cause me any discomfort in that area. (I was worried about this, since some reviews said that the chair caused coccyx pain. This is totally not the case for me.) The chair has wonderful lumbar support (I like it firm, but it can be adjusted to be softer) and I enjoy that I can lean back in the chair as well while still having my back supported. I find the cushioning in this chair to be plenty soft (some reviews say that it is too firm). It isn't like sitting on a pillow or anything, but it also isn't hard and it doesn't cause me any discomfort. Though I am petite, this chair is so adjustable that I am confident it would be a great fit for basically any person. If you're thinking about making an investment in your health and ergonomics, I would not hesitate to purchase this Leap V2 chair! ... show more

  • You Need to Know what Makes YOU comfortable
Color: Licorice
I want to start by saying this is a great product. It is well made. Kudos to Steelcase for sending a fully assembled chair. It’s a solid build. You can see that there is nothing cheap about it, even though it is plastic in most areas, it felt strong and durable. So, why the poor rating? I just could not get comfortable. You will need to do a good job tightening the settings or it will feel like you are rocking each time you sit back. Reviews I read before buying frequently mentioned the seat being too firm. I have to agree with that assessment. It’s just a slight bit too firm for me. I have a gel seat pad (only about half inch thick) but that extra half inch made a difference when I used the pad. The four way arms are a nice feature, but they do not lock in place, so they will move around on you. My biggest problem, and the thing that dealt the failing grade, is the placement of the plastic base of the arms right up to the seat sides. I am around 260. I am not fat in the rear, but I am no skinny Minnie either. My hips were being pinched by those plastic fittings every time I sat back in the seat. That hurts after 8 hours. I honestly wanted to love this chair. But for the price, I don’t want to have to modify the chair or how I sit to feel comfortable. This chair may be an excellent fit for some people. I can’t say it’s not good quality or well made. But you really should find one in a store and sit in it before you buy it. Now, huge praise to Amazon and Steelcase. I sent it back for a refund. They sent a truck to pick up the chair, no charge. And my account was credit right away. I wish you luck in your chair search. If this is the chair for you, I am sure it will be so for years to come. ... show more

  • A great chair as expected (color was a little off, tho)
Color: Licorice
The Steelcase Leap v2 is a great chair. The armrests can be set really low (lower than my legs) meaning you can slide close to your desk without them interfering (a problem I've found that most consumer chairs have). After sitting in it at work for years I decided to get one for home. The chair arrived fully assembled. The listing photo led me to believe that the Licorice color was a dark gray but in real life it's basically black, but that's fine with me. ... show more
