    • I can get in bed again!
After a severe knee injury I was having trouble getting in and out of bed. With this device, I can do it unassisted. I’m so glad to be sleeping in bed again instead of in a recliner. I will say it was quite difficult to install. I had to have two friends do it for me.

    • Not good! I chose this model because it's got 3 ...
I bought this for my father who is 86 years old and weighs over 250 pounds. He's slipped off the bed a couple times and is not able to get himself back up. Not good! I chose this model because it's got 3 legs on the ground, not just tucked up under the mattress like most. The third leg and the arm that attaches it to the rail makes getting off and on the bed much safer. The rail keeps him from rolling out of bed and gives him a hand grip to pull himself up. It works with an adjustable bed at the head end because the feet don't have to touch the ground to still be effective. I did have to raise his bed a bit because even the lowest setting was too tall. Dad loves this thing and he thanks me every day since I installed it. He loves the pockets as he was forever dropping the bed remote, tv remote, light remote, his glasses. He even uses it to stow his wallet and handkerchief. His night stand now isn't cluttered with remotes that get knocked off when searching for one in the dark. It's very well constructed and the fit/finish are top notch. I was beginning to think I would have to find a residential home that has strong attendants for Dad as I am not able to safely pick him back up if falls like that again. I’ve had urged things like this for a couple years, but this one is awesome! The under the mattress could be a little longer, but otherwise it is great! Get one!

    • Gives my husband back his mobility in bed
Although there were parts of this that were hard to put together (the diagrams were difficult for me to understand), I must applaud the finished product. It took two sturdy men, however, to lift our king-size mattress to get the strap hooked up over the foundation, but once accomplished, and the legs lengthed properly, I couldn't be more pleased. My husband now can safely pull himself up to sitting position and exit the bed. He loves the pivoting cane. He says it helps him so much. He also said he's glad we bought the model with the cane rather than without. The pouch is an added bonus. He keeps a flashlight in one pocket for those "midnight trips". My daughter, an geriatric occupational therapist, recommended that we get a bed cane and I'm glad she did. She didn't specify which one; left the choice up to us. This one seemed the sturdiest, had good reviews, a good company reputation, and a reasonable price for what it offered. We are both well pleased with our purchase.     • Swing arm extremely helpful
This was given as a gift to a near 90 year old gentleman who suffered a hip fracture. His family reported that the rail portion provided enough security to guard against falling out of bed. Most importantly, the swing out arm made it much easier to safely get out of bed.

Sadly I gave this product too many chances and now I can’t return it. (Purchased Jan. 22 & return window closed Feb 21). I liked the design and the simplicity as well as the chic bed rail bag /entrapment prevention piece. However, my 6 foot 280 pound husband (product is rated to 300 pounds) with profound dementia and hemiparesis tore the frame leg out (pictured) on 4 occasions using the rail to lift himself up and out of bed falling twice (he was fine). By the 4th time I decided to give this rail the heave ho but needed to wait for a replacement product of a different type which arrived Feb 25. So that’s that. If you have your wits and your torso strength this is a fine product-I even imagined traveling with it. But not the right fit for all circumstances. ... show more

    • Allows independent exit from the bed
5 stars for pure function. This allows my disabled husband to easily get in and out of bed by himself. Gave 4 stars for teh questions asked because it feels wobbly, but if mounted correctly with the strap under the bed and around the frame it isn’t going anywhere.
