I'm wearing this sling full time as I'm recovering from a broken collarbone injury. Compared to the even less robust ones that I got from the ER, my orthopedist, and Amazon, this one is the best of the bunch. I had issues with the other ones digging into soft part of my back behind the shoulder blade. The big round pad in back and three-strap design does not do that at all. The velcro closures are already getting weak after 2 weeks of use. This is unfortunate because I need to wear this for another two months or more. I have a second one on the way, hopefully that allows me to wash and dry one while I'm wearing the other. I know I need to hand wash it to keep the remaining useful life for the velcro tabs. ... show more

The sling I was sent home in after bicep tendon surgery was hurting my neck after one day. This was a fantastic upgrade. It fit my arm when it was still swollen, when I had the cold therapy machine wrapped around my arm, and when leaving the house. It was a bit tricky to figure out how to put it on the first few times. The manufacturers had videos on this Amazon listing and on YouTube that made it easier. We never used the slip for the thumb and arm but it didn't affect how it functions or supports. I feel like it has very versatile support points so if one didn't work, there were ample alternatives. One tip to avoid frustration: when you're not wearing it, hang it up. I didn't the first few times and it got twisted, the velcro stuck in the wrong place, it was a nightmare getting it back to the right shape. We hung it over two simple Command hooks (I'm sure a hanger would work just as well) and never had that issue again. ... show more

The material is very plush. the shaping at the elbow is great. when on, the shoulder strap falls in a comfortable place thanks to the way it is constructed in the back. The one the hospital gave me cut right across the neck and chafed so i had to pad it with a bit of soft cloth. HOWEVER, the big problem is the "velcro". it is hard and thin and very plasticy. It is not the fuzzy hook and loop tape that you need because you can pull it apart easy. This sling's velcro like fasteners are hard to pull apart. They grab onto everything before you can fix them. They snag your clothing. The manufacturer needs to take into account that you are injured or in pain. You may not be able to pull hard to get these apart or reattached. i took the straps off the cheap hospital one and replaced them and that solved everything. Luckily I had someone to machine sew them.. NOT easy to use therefore NOT a good value. ... show more

I broke my humorous bone just days before vacation. The ER sent me home with a cheap unsupportive sling that just wasn’t cutting it. Bought one from a drug store and a couple days in my neck had scratches all over it and I wasn’t able to properly secure the sling due to the fabric twisting. I was desperate for a sling that was comfortable and supportive. This sling was it! One thing I didn’t realize at first was that you can cut the strap that comes around from your back. I had been using a safety pin to hold it more taught. Once I realize the black Velcro piece could come off and the strap cut…. Game changer! I was able to make the strap the perfect length for me. As others have said, it is HOT because of the cushion and materials. However it is worth it for some good supportive relief. ... show more
