These are the first pieces of stainless steel cookware I have ever owned. I have tried all the rest: lots of different brands of non-stick, cast iron, cast iron clad with enamel, the fad of the "copper" ones, etc. I had bought a whole array of silicone utensils to use in my non-stick pots and pans, and hand washed them to protect the non-stick surface. Every time I went to my daughter's house I got jealous = there she was, using her stainless steel cookware - and not worrying about what kind of utensil she used in them, and always putting them in the dishwasher. So when I saw this six-piece set, at what I considered a reasonable price, I ordered it! And I am very happy I did: - I like the weight of this cookware = sturdy and solid, the saucepans are balanced and sit firmly on flat surfaces. - I can use any type of utensil that I want, and I don't have to have special silicone utensils!!!! - I appreciate that the handles have an open design, so no water can collect anywhere in the handle during washing...and then leak out later. - The handles did not get hot when I was boiling water in the saucepan (on an electric range top) and I could lift the hot saucepan by the handle without using a potholder. - I love that the saucepans have markings on the inside showing quarts and liter measurements. (And they are accurate, as I verified them with my own measuring cups.) - I really like that the lids have steam vent holes - and those holes are surrounded with stainless steel. - And I absolutely love that I can put these in the dishwasher. I have put them in the dishwasher numerous times now and they come out fine. - I made scalloped potatoes in the oven using the largest saucepan. The oven temperature was 450 degrees Fahrenheit and the pan performed beautifully. (But remember, in the oven the handle will get hot.) You know how hard it is to clean the casserole when you make scalloped potatoes in a ceramic casserole in the oven? I was amazed how that didn't happen when I made scalloped potatoes in this stainless steel saucepan in the oven. It washed up wonderfully - and in the dishwasher! Note: The pamphlet that comes with the cookware discusses how to remove water spots - their method is a little involved. I just used a little vinegar on my dishcloth and the spots immediately disappeared. These are definitely quality stainless steel pieces of cookware. They are three-ply construction. The inner layer is 18-8 stainless steel (which does contain some chromium and nickel for those who are concerned), the middle layer is pure aluminum, and the outer layer is 430 stainless steel (that contains chromium but very little or no nickel). Okay, I will stop gushing...but I am very, very pleased with the quality and performance of these SLOTTET stainless steel saucepans and lids.

This SLOTTET stainless steel cookware set looks very nice out of the box. Unfortunately, the packaging and presentation is not particularly good if you're planning on giving this set as a gift. The box material is flimsy and arrived in terrible shape with a pan handle protruding out the bottom. A side wall was almost fully breached and hanging on for dear life. Cosmetically, all pieces arrived without damage. The induction-compatible bases are of adequate mass and thickness. However, their adjoining seams don't inspire much confidence they won't separate over time. Performance-wise, the heat distribution is on par with cookware in the lower-middle price range. We cook on a gas range and the center portions took awhile to get up to temp. I'd say the amount of time is firmly in-between restaurant grade carbon steel and thick vintage cast iron. I'm not particularly a fan of glass lids because they can accidentally break, but I do appreciate that lids are included for all except for the frying pans. The lids for the saute and stock pot" can also fit the 10" fryer if you need to contain spatter. The 1.5 qt saucepan is a perfect size to cook up a brick of instant ramen with additional proteins/vegetables. The cool touch handles are comfortable in the hand and the riveting shows no sign loosening anytime soon. The 2.5 qt is a nice versatile size, can accommodate sides or portions for two. I like that the lids allow a big enough gap to effectively drain liquid without having to use an additional strainer. The angle of the handles on the frying pans is much flatter than I'm accustomed to with my better pans. The walls are sloped too steeply to gently slide a long spatula underneath more delicate foods. Instinctively tossing food requires more effort and finesse. These frying pans are definitely not the highlight of this set. The saute pan's walls are sufficiently tall. I appreciate the pan's ability to maintain a gentle heat without having to constantly babysit. The cooking surface is broad enough to sear a 3 pound roast, or braise the equivalent cut into smaller portions. I can easily see it becoming a favorite pan. It can double as a capable shallow fryer in a pinch. The steamer attachment also seamlessly fits over this pan. The rubberized handles on the lids and stock pot are okay for now, but I'm doubtful the material will stand up to the test of time. The 6 qt capacity is a good tweener size in our collection of pots and is a decent smaller sous vide vessel. Stainless steel will offer more bang for your buck compared to nonstick, if you're aware of the limitations. The material isn't the easiest to keep looking new, but it can take punishment from metal utensils and the dishwasher. The storage footprint is okay with most of the smaller pieces nesting neatly, or you could hang all of them from hooks. At the time of ordering, the list price of this SLOTTET set was $159, which is a tad high considering similar CUISINART and T-FAL sets can be had at this price point. However, if you're able to get this at a discount, I'd recommend it as a capable, budget-friendly cookware set with only minor misgivings.

This is a great little pot set for the price! The pots arrived well packaged with no imperfections and looked exactly as pictured. Each pot does come with its own lid and they fit on perfectly with no gaps. I love the nonstick stainless steel and they are so easy to clean plus they are dishwasher safe! They heat up evenly and quickly on our stovetop. The handles are also comfortable in your hand and each pot is pretty lightweight and easy to move! Overall I am very happy with this set and I feel like the price is good for the quantity and quality you receive!
