This is a wonderful book on a wonderful breed. Pit Bulls and Am Staffs are much more common in the region of the US where I live, so even seeing a Staffie and having a chance to talk to owners is rare. This book's focus is on Staffies in the UK, but has all the information I wanted, as well as dozens of lovely photos, to understand the correct structure and temperament of the breed. Of the most interest to me was the information on properly raising a Staffie to avoid unwanted behaviors in an adult dog. These are smaller than the Pit Bulls and Am Staffs, but still powerful and potentially aggressive dogs, and being a responsible owner is of the utmost importance. Chapter 12 discusses this, and makes the book a perfect introduction to a wonderful breed that I am considering owning in the future. ... show more
