  • Works great, but needs ability to view pictures on camera
Size: FORCE-24 TWIN
I will be getting these out into the woods this weekend, and it will likely be several months before I get any real pictures back. The setup was pretty easy, but I have been through several spypoint cameras in the past so I’m fairly familiar with the setup process. I set my camera to the hybrid setting to take 2k video and a burst of 3 pictures. This functionality worked fine in my initial testing. The only issue I have seen so far is with one of the cameras I must have grabbed a bad battery or two. It was immediately showing it as having 0 battery life left. I switched out a couple of the batteries and it was showing full strength again. A week later when I was inserting my SD card, it was showing no battery life again. I swapped out a battery that had a different expiration date and once again had full strength. At this moment it’s undetermined on whether or not it is a camera issue or a battery issue, but I also did not expect a single bad battery to make it go from full strength to no strength. I am rating the review based on it being a battery issue and will update and reach out to Spypoint if it ends up being an issue with the camera itself. Overall everything seems to be working great, but there are a few changes I wish they would put in place for these cameras. There is already a screen on the camera to update the settings. It would be a simple, but large improvement to be able to view the pictures from on the SD card on this screen as well. I have several off brand cameras with this functionality and it’s a little frustrating that I can’t get the same from a name brand camera. The other suggestion is to switch from a full size SD card slot to a micro SD card slot. Almost all I have anymore are micro sized cards, and it’s a pain to make sure I have adapters for each camera. ... show more

  • Decent camera but no WiFi or Bluetooth
Size: FORCE-24 TWIN
I am a fan of the spy point cameras. I have several of the cellular spy point cameras around my property and they have performed flawlessly for a long period of time. But I’m gonna be honest these cameras really do confuse me. They’re designed to not require any kind of cellular plan meaning that all of the data captured on the camera has to be retrieved and then downloaded to your device. I’m having trouble understanding how useful this is. It requires you to remove the SD card and put it into some sort of SD card reader in order to take a look at the footage. I wish they would’ve included a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on these cameras. It would’ve made it much easier to review the footage and capture what you need to without having to remove the SD card every time. With that said they are high-quality and well built cameras so I’m going to give them a four star because they do what they’re meant to do well. The cost is decent given that they are not cellular cameras and the battery life is sufficient. If you don’t mind having to remove the SD card every time you want to check the footage then these would be a great value for you. If that’s something that you’re not really interested in then I would suggest getting a spy point camera. That’s a cellular camera instead. ... show more

  • Fun for photogprahpy
Size: FORCE-24 TWIN
This has been a lot of fun to use. I didn’t buy it strictly for hunting—I got it mostly out of curiosity and because I enjoy photography. I thought it would be interesting to set it up outside at night and see what wandered by, and so far it’s been just that: a neat little window into the critters that come through when you’re not around. Going through the photos has been entertaining, and the quality is better than I expected for the price. The 2K video looks sharp, and the audio adds a nice touch if you want more context than just still images. Setup was simple, and once you’ve got the settings dialed in, it basically takes care of itself. Since it’s non-cellular, you do need to check the SD card to see what it captured, but the trade-off is much better battery life. I’ve had it running for quite a while without needing to swap batteries, which is a big plus. I haven’t pushed all the features yet, but the motion sensor seems sensitive enough, and I like that you can play around with bursts or time-lapse depending on what you’re trying to capture. For me, it’s just been a fun way to see what’s moving around at night, but I could definitely see hunters using this to scout an area. It’s an easy-to-use trail cam with solid photo and video quality. Whether you’re into wildlife monitoring, hunting, or just curious like me, it does the job well without the extra cost of a cellular plan. ... show more

  • Junk camera
Size: FORCE-24 TWIN
This camera had issues right out of the box. Sometimes it would work for a minute and then die. Tried all the trouble shooting suggestions…nothing worked. Sent both cameras back. Don’t waste your time!
