Size: Sovol SV07 Plus
After owning several (4) Sovol 3D printers and recently adding the Klipper screen to my SV06 Plus, I knew that the added features of the SV07 Plus made the printer a worthwhile purchase for me. When the printer first arrived I was very excited to get it put together. It was very well packaged as all of my Sovol printers have been in the past have been and there were no sign of any damage to the printer or any of the components. 2 of the 3 bed adjustment wheels did appear to have loosened during shipping and the wheels and springs had to be threaded back onto the bed adjustment screws which was no big deal. Other than that, assembly was a breeze and I had the printer put together in less than 30 minutes. The printer includes both bed adjustment wheels/springs as well as the static mounts if you prefer to rely on the printer to maintain your bed level (similar to SV06/SV06 Plus). With this printer I opted to use the bed adjustment wheels and haven’t had any issues with prints not sticking to the bed. Just make sure you calibrate it correctly and well the first time and you shouldn’t have any problems. It’s also a good idea to print a first layer test to ensure that your z offset is correct as this is a huge factor with prints and how well they’ll stick to the bed. Unlike many of the previous printers that I’ve owned, the L and R Z motors in the SV07 plus are able to make independent adjustments and the Z-Tilt bed leveling has been spot on for me and I’ve had nothing but beautiful, perfect 1st layers on all of my prints. I’ll also say that Klipper has been a game changer for me and is a perfect match for the SV07 Plus; this is by far the best printer that I have (or have ever had) in my collection. With the exception of the large part cooling fan this is the quietest printer that I’ve used. It may be due to the use of V roller wheels in the SV07 over linear rails but it is certainly a welcomed change in my opinion. I mentioned that Klipper has been a game changer for me and I mean that. Having the ability to send prints directly from my PC to the printer over Wifi and not having to move an SD or USB back and forth between pc and printer has been such a convenience and should be standard on all printers moving forward. I’ve also recently switched from using Cura to Orca slicer and added settings in Klipper to probe the print area and run z tilt calibration before every print but I’d suggest first sticking to the basics until you settle into and get to know the printer first. There’s a lot you can do with klipper but you don’t want to over complicate things right off the bat. All in all I would agree with the other great reviews of this printer. I already have several printers in my collection and didn’t think that I’d own another “bed slinger” but after adding the klipper screen to my SV06 plus, my love for 3D printing has been re-energized and the SV07 plus is now my all-time favorite which will be my baseline for any future printer comparisons. It’s been a fantastic printer and one that I can trust to print just about any job that I can throw at it not have to worry about the job failing. It is a printer that I will continue to recommend to all of my 3d printing friends and the price and features included make it a worthwhile competitor to many of the more expensive printers available today. Pro’s Klipper w/touch screen Includes double sided PEI sheet and additional adhesive bed sticker. Hard bed mount points for bed OR bed leveling wheels Includes Accelerometer for input shaping Tool Tray for storage with included tools (I love this) Built in LED lights on the print head which can be turned on/off from klipper screen Very quiet and very fast printing! Cons Print head ribbon cable is flexible and can potentially get caught on the gantry fan. I printed a simple cable “spine” that holds the ribbon cable out of the way.

The media could not be loaded. This is my 5th 3D printer and comparing to my experience with others (Bambu P1S Combo, ender v3, longer LK5 pro) the Sovol exceeds all expectations. SETUP: From unboxing, to assembly, to connecting to WIFI, I was up and printing within an hour. Instructions are very well detailed with pictures, and straightforward. The printer comes with a USB stick (located in the built in accessory drawer) which included print files for the ribbon cable support, and a benchy! I started out using cura slicer but quickly changed to Orca slicer due to the print profiles already being available (must be manually added in Cura 5.7) QUALITY: The printer is very quiet, and well built. Does not have the typical Z axis issues you run into with the ender printers. The prints are very sturdy and well processed with no noticeable stringing, or extrusion issues. Pretty exciting when you don’t need to calibrate it out of the box SPEED: This thing prints fast. Very fast. My Bambu P1S is only marginally faster which is expected from a core xy printer versus the Sovol being a bed slinger. Again, no customizations needed the default profiles in orca slicer rival printing times of my Bambu which is nothing short of phenomenal given the price tag. CONS No webcam or camera upgrade option (not a dealbreaker but something that I very much miss comparing to my Bambu). I also had to adjust my x axis belt tension (using the convenient adjustment knob) as I had a couple larger prints experience layer shift. Since my adjustment, I have had zero issues. The bed leveling is a great feature but could be improved on in the touchscreen interface (have to flip through a couple screens when leveling and swapping filament, not a big deal but something that could be improved) CONCLUSION This printer rivals others that cost more than double the price. If you are looking for a commercial grade printer at hobbyist pricing, this should be top on your list! Updated review 7/15: facing numerous issues with software and nozzle, updated to 1 star
