  • Consumer-3D Printing, in MY home?
Part of me really regrets not investing in 3D printing years ago, but a bigger part of me is glad to have waited until the technology matured a little. At any rate, I'm very very happy to have bought this. It's just cool, it's a geek-out factor I don't get to experience very often. The number of free files I can print is insane, I wish I had a dozen of these things all churning out useful (or just fun) things 24/7. It's extremely easy to set up; it syncs with your phone, and the app has a huge catalog of user-created stuff you can use for free. It's very much consumer-grade, no tech knowledge required. I love it, I'll probably buy more. The only problem (if you can even call it that) is occasional feed issues; you get a push notification on your phone, you have to go up and re-feed the PLA spool. It takes 10 seconds and I've only seen it twice. I doubt that's a problem with the product, probably something any printer faces, and it's an instant fix. Buy one, nerd. ... show more

  • Good start to 3D printing
For my first 3D printer, this is exactly what I was hoping for. The process is very smooth. Lots of information is available for the A1. I'm experimenting with community models through the app and I haven't had to do any adjustments. They just work. I print things off my laptop, my phone, and my tablet. I've done multi-color prints with no problems. The AMS Lite works well. I'm using a dehumidifier in the room to control moisture. I just ordered different filament types (PETG/TPU). I've heard PETG is more sensitive to moisture than PLA so I might need an enclosure for that. I'm looking into designing my own models soon. ... show more

  • Solid Printer for the Price
Size: A1(Without AMS lite)
I've made multiple random prints with this machine and I am so far not disappointed. The little touchscreen is very easy to use and the accompanying BambuLabs apps make progress tracking easy. Everything I've made so far was made with really good quality. Setup took about an hour and trying to get the bottom plate out was definitely a pain, but in the end, all is well. The price of this printer has definitely dropped over the past few years, so if it was an OK deal back then, it's a great deal now, especially if you're just getting started with 3D Printing. Unless you're super low on space, I would definitely recommend this over the Mini. If you don't have a solid table, just put it on the ground. While printing, the noise level is not that loud, especially if you have a (recommended) air purifier running near it. Overall, if you want a printer from a reputable brand that really does just work, go for the A1. It's an amazing gateway printer. ... show more

  • Perfect for beginners and pros alike
Size: A1(Without AMS lite)
Best beginner friendly 3d printer out there. I have had no problems at all with this machine and I have learned a lot. Get this if you want the easiest entry into 3d printing. Get the AMS if you are interested in more intricate multicolor prints. However, there are a lot of no AMS needed multicolor prints out there, so the AMS is not necessarily needed to print in multiple colors. I will say, if I had it to do again and the combo was on a good deal, I would probably go ahead and get the AMS. As I have progressed, I am getting to a point where the AMS would.make things easier/possible. Bottom line, I love this thing. Just know, you will not start a lucrative business as soon as you get one. The marketnis saturated. Just some advice. ... show more

  • Where's the cable connection?
Size: A1(Without AMS lite)
The printer is a lot of fun. But it only links to my computer through wifi or using a Microsoft SD card. There isn't a way to link to the computer through a cable. The printer will not print any of my projects I save on the card. I'm going to a place that doesn't have wifi. It is completely useless to me once I move in a week. After getting the printer I realized getting the system to do multiple colors is not sold through Amazon and costs $178 from the manufacturer. The AMS system is sold with the mini printer, but buying it fir the a1 puts the a1 far out of the price range of other printers that do multi colors as standard for $100 or more less. I would encourage any first timers to look into another printer. ... show more

  • Wow ... Just wow
I was given a 5 year old printer as the owner wasn't using it. I really struggled trying to get it to work, and then it just wouldn't print right. Not so with this, it's about as plug and play as you can get. It did help to be a little familiar with CNC terminology, but I had it assembled and running in less than an hour without any issues. Over only had one model fail and I'm pretty sure it was a design flaw and not a printer issue. I love getting notifications on my phone and being able to monitor the builds. I had one issue with a tangle in a spool but the printer detected it, paused the print, sent me a notification, and I was able to correct and restart without any problems. I love the AMS and being able to print in multiple colors. It can generate a lot of waste of one isn't careful, but I tend to create functional parts where colors can be done in layers, it's not that bad if one understands the process and uses colors wisely. I've already designed my own builds, specifically a vent adapter and a dust collector adapter. I saved over 20 dollars just for the dust adapter, and there were no vent adapters that I could find. I will probably save the cost of the machine in a year or less creating my own parts instead of buying them. Plus the adapters were spot on with the accuracy of the dimensions I specified. Prototyping is important though, I created partial pices for testing before building the full sized finished products to avoid eating time and material. There are some areas I would like to see improved. The first is lighting for the camera, it's terrible. I had to keep the overhead lights on until I found an LED accessory. Another is a basic maintenance manual, what to clean, when to lubricate and with what, and other general routine maintenance. It would also have been nice to include some information on how the AMS and manual feed work. Overall, I love this machine and think it was money well spent. ... show more
