    • Easy to use bread sling
I use this sling to transfer my risen sourdough to the baking pan. I have had to make my own disposal sling from tin foil in the past but this a better alternative because it is oven safe, dishwasher safe, easy to store, and is reusable.

At first I thought this sling was a gimmick but decided to give it a try. Folks! This is a game changer! Normally I use parchment paper and while it gets the job done, I am not sure how tight the lid fits when there is all that crumpled up paper hanging over the edges, which you have to have in order to pull the bread out when it is done. This sling fits PERFECTLY in my 4 qt Dutch oven. I set the loaf in, put the lid on and the lid fit very tight. Much tighter than with parchment paper. I was thrilled when the bread was done and saw the beautiful loaf I had and then how easy it was to pull out the sling! With paper, it got really hot and I had to be careful not to burn my fingers pulling the bread out of the Dutch oven. Somehow, this sling immediately cools off and I was able to grab the handles, bare handed, and pull the bread right out. This is amazing! I absolutely love these slings! They will make great gifts too for my bread making friends! ... show more

    • Easier than parchment paper for bread
I thought I would give these a try when I make the no knead bread in my cast iron dutch oven as the parchment paper can be difficult sometimes. These worked good with the handles to lift the bread out, making it slightly easier. They did get a few pieces of bread dough burned onto them, but it was minimal and most came off when washed. A few stains were left but I feel that is expected and will not affect future uses. The are silicone and can easily store right in your pan. I accidently ordered two for $16, but I can either share one or keep one for later use. As they are durable, I will get many uses out of the $16 investment and use less parchment paper, thus reducing waste. ... show more

    • No Problems at 475F
I've been baking sourdough for 4 years and wish I had gotten this sooner! I bake my sourdough with my oven set at 475F. I was a bit hesitant due to the warning about temp limits and this being right at that upper limit, but I thankfully had no problems. This device will be an awesome upgrade over cycling through parchment paper all the time! Only thing to mention is that this doesn't allow my dutch oven to get quite as good of a seal as without it. I throw 2 ice cubes in and put the lid on. The excess steam loss did not affect my bread in any (actually turned out to be a great looking loaf), so I don't think this is a cause for concern. ... show more

This is a very handy item for making a loaf of bread in a Dutch oven. It makes it so easy to transfer the dough into the pan and the finished hot bread out of the pan. It is non-stick and easy to clean by just wiping off the surface after use.

We ordered these so we could bake sourdough bread in a Dutch oven and they work great! We don't have to use parchment paper all the time and they clean up nicely. So far they haven't discolored or done anything bad to the pot. We enjoy using these!

These silicone mats are perfect for transferring ing boules in and out of a dutch oven. They are sturdy enough you don't have to worry about the handles breaking under the weight of heavy loaves, but thin enough that a dutch oven can still seal and hold in the steam even with the ends sticking out. This will make lifting bread loaves from hot pots much easier! I've burned myself before and had parchment burn or stick like glue to the bread. Those days are over I hope with these! They have an odor which I hope will disappear before use.
