Uneven powder sprinkling is definitely a first-world problem, but this is the tool to fix it. If you do a lot of sprinkling (cake, cookie, or other food decoration, etc.), this is a well-made, easy to use little tool that makes any kind of powder easy to sprinkle—cocoa, powdered sugar, flour, paprika, whatever you need: just turn the knob so it opens, put your powder in, turn the knob again to close, sprinkle away...and when your done, it’s easy to dump the excess back in its container. The holes are very, very small, so only fine powders will work well. Lately I’ve been making cold-brew tea (you just steep the tea overnight in a pitcher and it’s ready in the morning—less bitter, more fragrant, and less energy wasted), and this little sprinkler makes a great tea infuser, too—it holds enough tea for the whole batch, the long handle makes it easy to pull back out of the pitcher, and it’s easier to open than any of my other infusers. It also works well for evenly sprinkling pigments or superfine glitter, though you might want to have a separate unit for non-food applications. ... show more

    • Not easy to clean, but works great!!
I never knew I needed one of these until I used it and I'm so happy I have it. It is super easy to use and distributes flour really well. A fine mesh sieve was always too much. It's not the easiest to clean, but maybe that was my own fault. I got it wet so the flour inside formed a paste which was hard to clean because the ball doesn't come apart so you have to twist one side then the next. But, then when you twist it, it just smeared some of the paste. Again, probably my fault. Don't get this thing wet in the middle of your baking. And make sure all the flour is empty before soaking it. That's my tip! Recommended! ... show more

    • Useful in garden, too! Best, easiest device for sprinkling diatomaceous earth under garden plants!
I try to use natural means of pest control in my garden and have tried other contraptions to apply diatomaceous earth underneath my plants…even ones that are made specifically for diatomaceous earth (DE). This dusting wand works so well and sprinkles the diatomaceous earth so evenly compared to any other method or device that I have tried that I bought a second dusting wand for my garden as a backup in case it ever breaks or comes up missing. This dusting wand also makes it very easy to refill with minimal loss of of the DE when I have it in a mason jar. Since I have the DE in a jar tall enough to keep the wand in the jar, too, I don’t see the need to wash it very often so I should have little to no rusting if it is truly stainless steel.
