We really liked the look of a Char-Broil small grill, but it inexplicably cost more than the larger ones and Amazon reviews for it were shockingly bad (with some downright dangerous design flaws). I slowly gravitated to this unit. First, this grill seems to be available under many different brands (all unrecognizable). In fact, the one we received is actually marked "Captiva Designs," but they all seem to have equally good reviews. Assembly took a while but only because I didn't want to screw it up. I will say the instructions were fairly straightforward and, even better, if you pay attention it seems almost impossible to do it wrong because everything only fits one way. Even better, the gas line assembly (the part I was most nervous about) is already done for you out of the box. Plus they give you a bunch of extra hardware. It says it requires 2 people but I really only needed help with the last step, as holding the piece and screwing it in simultaneously was too challenging alone. All very nice. What we don't like: The side tables are stuck in place, which adds bulk when storing (but do provide a sturdy handle for carrying/pushing). The wire rack is also abysmal at conducting heat, so our first attempt at cooking took much longer than expected. We replaced it with 2 of these, a 6-inch and 8-inch (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C5HRZSA?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1), which don't fit inside the grill space but sit on top well enough and do a great job of cooking. What we like: The size is perfect for 2 people. Could even cook for twice that comfortably, especially on the griddle, which is very heavy and well-made. It fits nicely on our small deck without dominating the space. It was tricky finding a cover for it, since it has non-standard dimensions. I had better luck looking for covers for "preparation tables" and this one actually fits pretty perfectly (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B81W5PB8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details). There's also no cover to close for searing (there's a cover but it's really only for storing, not cooking), so we got this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09H2MSDCQ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1). I guess the important thing is the price seems great but will need to buy a few other things to make it perfect. It's nice how easy it is to reach the gas tank to turn it on/off, and it fires up first time every time (we had a Coleman camping grill for years that the ignition died on and we had to use a manual lighter. That was exciting!) Cooks quickly and evenly now that we have the grates sorted, and we couldn't be happier with our purchase.

Perfect for small area

Put it together was really easy, went to season the griddle part and it warped so bad it’s hard to use. Used it one time and it’s warped and won’t let the food cook evenly because the back of the griddle is up in the air and the grease runs to the front so everything burns and I’ve only used it once, I have wrote to the seller and told them about what happened and how displeased I was haven’t heard anything as of yet. Would love to have the griddle part of it replaced so that it sits flat paid $240 for this product and as of right now I don’t feel it was worth $2.40 , hopefully will hear some feedback, but if not I will be highly upset. I would not recommend this product to anyone at this point. Don’t waste you hard earned money

If you are looking for a griddle grill combo that is easy to use and lasts a long time, this one is not going to be a good choice. I bought this unit for my husband in July 2024. It was our first griddle grill combo, and it was something we both were excited to try. Seasoning the griddle is messy and the griddle is angled, which is understandable, but when you put the seasoning oil on the griddle, the angle is such that the oil immediately drains before you get a chance to cover the surface, so it takes several applications to get the job done. I did not try to put the grates on the unit and then put the griddle on top of the grates to season it properly, that may or may not work. You cannot use the grill and griddle at the same time. The griddle and grates are two separate pieces, so you need to decide how you are going to use the cooker, as a grill or as a griddle. The heat distribution seemed to be good, and at the time it seemed like a good value for the money spent. Flash forward to February 2026. My husband went out to cook some burgers and found that one of the burners had rusted through and fell apart, so we are only able to use one side of the surface. He did not see an easy way to replace the burner, even if you could find a replacement part. We keep the unit on our deck year-round, as we grill rain or shine. We kept it covered when not in use, so it isn't a matter of not taking care of it. We have had several different outdoor grills, and we have a Traeger pellet smoker and have never had a problem like this, and only a little over a year and a half after purchasing the product.

Well designed and crafted medium price grill with several features found in more expensive grills. Parts fit well together, Screws matched up with instructions and all parts were in the box. Very easy to use and clean.Construction is plenty solid, no flimsy bits. I did line the drip pan with foil to help. I do wish it had a hook or some method to hang a few tools, but I decided to get magnetic hooks instead. Really no complaints. It is a different world from my 30 year old 2 burner previous grill with wire grates and briquette style...
