  • Great quality, basic tech
Style: Sole F80 Treadmill
One year in- This treadmill is great. It’s not high tech, but it is a quality machine. The only negative that I have experienced is that the distance/speed doesn’t seem to be calibrated accurately. My Apple Watch consistently records my workouts as longer distances and higher speeds than the treadmill does. It’s not a huge difference at shorter distances, but it adds up at longer ones. Ex: at 1.5 miles on treadmill, watch will say 1.57. By the time treadmill is at 3 miles, watch is recording 3.5. At first, I thought it was the Watch that was off in estimations, but when comparing stats with outdoor runs, across months of workouts, I believe it’s the machine that’s off. It doesn’t really bother me though because the treadmill works great and is perfect in every other way for my uses. I just take the treadmill distance and speeds with a grain of salt and rely on my watch. My thoughts when selecting this machine: I wanted the best quality treadmill motor and a full size platform, without paying for extra technology. I looked at lots of brands and decided that I didn’t want to pay more for an interactive screen and then be locked into a subscription type service when I already have an iPad and can be free to download running apps if I choose. The tablet holder works perfectly for this, and the other option of laying it lower on the console to be able to interact with an app works too. The treadmill is quiet and runs smoothly. I don’t use the speakers though, they are not loud enough when the machine is running at faster speeds, but I prefer to use headphones anyways. Overall, this was a great purchase. It’s solidly built and it doesn’t feel flimsy. It feels like a gym treadmill and does the job I need it to. ... show more

  • Glad I finally got it!
Style: Sole F80 Treadmill
Good treadmill! Highly recommend you be sure to have strong people to move it. It really needs 2 people at the motor side, since pretty much all the weight is within that. So far all is great - I will say I must have too much connected to my WiFi, I couldn't stream shows directly from the treadmill, they kept glitching live - but I was able to download on Prime & able to watch from that, but I ended up just installing the tablet holder and use my tablet to watch shows. As some reviews indicated, the speed of changing speed/incline is SLOW but I like the new design/buttons and that it charges my phone. The fan is much of a joke, but I think all treadmill fans are. So far I've used it about daily for almost 2 weeks and am very glad I got it. I haven't been able to run yet due to injury, but it's made the ability to walk during winter so great! ... show more

  • UPDATE: Warranty/Customer Service Not Good.
Style: Sole F80 Treadmill
UPDATE: Just before 2 years elapsed, the console went kaput. Instead of sending out a new console, they require one to play a lot of games involving inordinately long waits on hold on the phone and/or for parts to be processed/for tech visits even to be scheduled. So far, my treadmill has been non-functional for almost five weeks, and the correct part (as opposed to the incorrect part, which took a month and a tech visit to determine was incorrect) has yet even to be shipped. I just now waited on their warranty line's hold for 32 minutes before giving up and trying to leave a message (disconnected, instead). I regret buying from this company and would not recommend doing so. This is overall a good machine so far. Very solid, like a gym treadmill. The console is mysteriously limited. Why pair such rudimentary options with such a good motor and a full-sized deck? You can't set the machine for a 5K, for example, because it has no option for setting a distance goal. It's also *either* miles *or* metric (settable by going though an arduous programming process), which means if you decide to track up a 5K manually, you still can't both do that *and* know your mph speed on the same run (it would give you your kilometers per hour, instead). Finally, the fan aims air at the face of someone around 6' tall, which is a big bummer. Better to aim the air at a 6'-tall person's chest, or even stomach, than to entirely miss someone shorter (like most every woman in America), don't you think? ... show more

  • Good, but needs some upgrades Good, but needs some upgrades
Style: Sole F80 Treadmill
I’ve been using this F80 treadmill for a couple months now. Here’s my opinion: good, but not great. There’s room for improvement. PROS: Easy to assemble (I assembled it almost completely on my own, aside from mounting the handrails and console. It could be a little easier to thread the harnesses) Speed - the max speed is 12mph, which is nice Noise - The deck and motor is surprisingly quieter than I expected Sturdy - overall it feels pretty sturdy Incline - The incline feels smooth and is easily adjusted Cup holders / Storage: There are two large cup holders, two other storage compartments, along with an optional tablet shelf. Multiple users: you can add multiple profiles for different users to keep track of your own stats CONS: My BIGGEST gripe is with how the console sits directly over the motor, rather than being slightly recessed over the belt/deck. This makes it a bit awkward when reaching for the screen to make adjustments, and I have caught myself stepping on the motor cover while running almost every single time because of this, causing a bit of a hazard. The deck is plenty long enough, so I’m not sure why it was designed to have the console mounted directly above the motor. I’m only utilizing about 1/3 of the deck length because of this. Software: the software in the tablet/console leave A LOT to be desired. Specifically, creating a workout program is almost useless. You set a desired duration and a max speed, from there, it’s a complete guessing game. You are presented with a grid of points where you select a percentage of the max speed at a certain point in the workout, but you cannot see the EXACT point you are setting that speed. I tried to match this up to a planned workout on my watch, and it was so far off that I just ended up manually adjusting the speed, which, due to my above complaint about the console position, is rather difficult at higher speeds. This could be easily remedied with a simple software update. I highly suggest that they add functionality to set the speed at a specific TIME or DISTANCE, rather than a random point on an unmarked grid. Apps: The console comes preloaded with plenty of entertainment apps; Netflix, Disney+, etc. But there is no option to explore or download new apps. Media Sound Quality: The built in speakers are just terrible, you cannot hear over the treadmill. And there is no headphone jack, so you need to pair a Bluetooth headset. Fans: the built in fans are also awful. They have only one speed option, and it’s not even strong enough for me to feel it. I have to use an external fan. All in all, it does what a treadmill should do. There’s still room for improvement in areas, especially in the console software. Since it is WiFi compatible, hopefully an update gets released that would improve the functionality. I chose this over other high-end treadmills based on the reviews of durability. It appears that this comes with the cost of some of the functionality of those other high end treads, however. ... show more

  • Heavy-duty
Style: Sole F80 Treadmill
It has assistance with raising and lowering. If you aren't very strong don't worry about folding it up or dropping it down. It slowly lowers down like the no-slam toilet seats have. It is heavy. It is about 380 ish pounds in the packaging. Easy to put together however some of the obsolete small screws that hold non-important plastic down were mis-aligned. NOT something I'd expect from a machine at this price point where you only have to put in like 20 screws. I just left them out. Thing is solid. Coming from a 380$ 10-year-old treadmill that had a little bounce to it this is like running on cement. I enjoy trail running because of the slight cushioning. Helps avoid shin-splints and such. Did a usual 7 mile run on this thing first use and for the next 2 days felt like my calve muscles had torn from my shins. It will definitely take some getting used to. Speed is more than anyone who isn't full-out sprinting should ever need. Height adjuster is kinda slow but works well. I use with ZWIFT. Works well. It saves workouts and progress. Can store multiple users stuff and you can password protect. DOES NOT REQUIRE SUBSCRIPTION like some treadmills do which is a HUGE PLUS!! I'm already paying for ZWIFT, and don't want another payment on top of that. This doesn't make you sign up and cancel or anything like that. Nice! I let others use the machine too and they have no complaints. Also, LOVE the paddle speed adjusters so you can just smack them a few times to adjust while running. Hated on my old treadmill having to accurately push a small + or - . This has big paddles you can just hit a few times to adjust. HR monitors took some time to gain accuracy but they are fairly accurate now. I use a polar chest strap HR monitor but the treadmill is pretty neck-and-neck with it. Tiny fans work I guess but I just use a large room fan pointed at me. Overall, very happy with the purchase and have no complaints so far. Just don't expect much bounce at all if you are coming from a treadmill that had some. ... show more

  • Gym quality equipment
Style: Sole F80 Treadmill
Ok, the shipping company was great. Contacted me multiple times to keep me up on its progress from the seller to my door! 6 Stars for them, if possible. Now on to assembly...there aren’t a ton of parts to put together, but it is heavy and definitely a two man job. It is very securely packed, but no way did it take 2 hours like another review said. The wife and I had it out of the box and fully functional in under 2 hours. If you really don’t like putting stuff together or you are extremely cheap, opt for the professional assembly. It just makes things easier and is relatively inexpensive. My biggest complaint is the the screws and bolts weren’t the easiest to get in. It was almost like during manufacturing, they were pre-drilled deep enough to start adequately. For folding, it is extremely easy. As a treadmill goes, this one is great. I bought it because it was the Consumer Reports best buy. It lives up to the recommendation. ... show more

  • Very Impressed
Style: Sole F80 Treadmill
People talked about trying to screw in these two particular screws where your'e basically upside down when you do it. One person said they started the screws first - I should've done that, it would've saved me time. People talked about the fan - yeah, it's totally useless. People talked about speakers - yeah, they are truly horrible. The tablet holder is a neat idea that works very well. The folding action and the wheels are an absolute godsend! So easy to fold/unfold and roll into position! As far as the most important part - the actual treadmill action, it's a 5 star rating for me! As good as a gym without having to go to a gym, which I hate. I'm a big clumsy oaf - 6'2" 260lbs and take up a lot of room. This running deck never feels like it's struggling to take my most aggressive pounding steps. I feel like I can do anything on it without feeling like it's fragile. The belt never slips, which is a first for me. The deck is quite wide, which is great because I struggle with drifting from side to side while running. I had a hard time spending the large chunk of coin on this baby, but have used it as much as 5 days in a row during the COVID and now can't imagine my life without it! 100% would buy again! ... show more
