The grip is very secure and not remotely slippery. I find the width of the grip to be just right but that preference may depend on the size of your hand. I am 5’7” and have fairly long fingers. I ordered this to go with the set of weights I ordered. The set I ordered only had the 2lb up, and after I torn the rotator cuff I and having to start strengthening it with a 1 lb weight first and go up from there. Hope I can hang with all the weights till it heals without surgery needed. Seem to be nice weights. I might even get into weight lifting even after the arm heals.
