This provides good ‘reading light’ at 6-8ft but does NOT light up a whole deck like shown in exaggerated picture. However, it is ideal for barn, alley way, breeze way and shed because the light spreads out well. Also because the motion sensing works well and the 20 second ON time provides perfect walk thru lighting. This is on MODE 4 setting that triggers the light, night AND day! The button on light cycles thru the modes as well as ON & OFF (complicated). However the remote is MUCH SIMPLER providing a seperate button for EVERY function. It works so well that I am trying to find use for a second that does not exist so may buy another one just as a “spare”!!!

Don't buy it junk. Acts that's like the battery is dead even after being charged with the Sun. Doesn't work at all Been a few weeks and light is totally dead. Took the light apart tested batteries batteries totally dead. 0 voltage could be the explanation of the red light all the time even though when the sun was out. Luckily I have a spot while they're just for making battery packs. Took some old Milwaukee 18650 batteries and put a new battery pack together for it. Seems to be working. Must have had a bad set of batteries. Hate to say it but I bought a second one. Thinking I just had a fluke thing with bad batteries. Turns out the second one's got bad batteries too. Work for a week barely. I will say the first one with new batteries is working awesome. You would think I get something about a refund or something from the company but I guess not. I got the other one down in the basement right now getting ready to replace the batteries with some donor batteries out of Milwaukee 18 volt tool batteries.

This light is very bright on high and has several settings. Having the remote is awesome. My issue is it is extremely hard to get the right setting and it seems to only stay on high unless you use it in the timer mode. It also doesn’t charge efficiently. I’m constantly pushing buttons and trying to find a “Mode” which never seems to be the same the next time. However, once on or charged it has a decent Battery life when used on the lower settings. It seems it needs to be on to charge which is crazy. All this made more difficult as the directions are confusing. I kept it because it is one of the few lights that can be turned on manually during the day and is bright enough to replace a regular plug in fixture.

Brighter than what i expected. Good value. Functions how it should. Most important part of the instructions are the modes. I suggest 1 setting lower than max. And mode 2.conserves the battery more. Charges fairly quickly. Slower on cloudy days but still charges. As you can see, its plenty bright.
