We recently bought these string lights for a camping trip, and we absolutely love them! They were such a great addition to our setup. I love how easy they are to use. The string pulls out smoothly and was simple to attach around our canopy. I charged them fully before we left for the trip, but I also appreciate that they have solar charging capabilities. Just make sure to place them somewhere that gets direct sunlight during the day so they are ready to use at night. The different lighting modes are a nice feature, and they are very easy to wind back up and pack away when you’re done. They are small and compact, which makes them perfect for camping, but they surprisingly provide a good amount of light. The 40-inch length was just enough for us to cover the four sides of our 10x10 pop-up canopy tent. I’m actually considering buying a second one to add even more lighting to our campsite. These solar string lights are fantastic.I'm going to buy another one for my next camping trip, so I have a longer line of light. I broke the clip off the first time.I used it because it is a little bit flimsy.If you knock it or do anything the hook on the end did break off but I just used some rope to tie it. I wrapped it around a tree as well and I set it on top of my camp shelf kitchen so it can catch Sunday in the day and light up at night.The main unit is nice and bright.But you can choose to have it just be string lights, just flashing, or twinkle. It will also, turn on the main light or you can have it.Flash red as a hazard light if you're an emergency for some reason. I didn't spend a lot of time trying to use the remote because it didn't work but I think it was not facing where it needed to when I was using it. So I can't speak to that as much. But I'm going to buy another one of these because I loved it so much and it definitely lit up the area where I was camping and it stayed on all night long 1 night when I forgot about it, so it has plenty of charge to stay on for a full night if you need it to. highly. Recommend. The color on the lights is a warm white and red. You can charge it using solar or usb or type c. This is super compact and definitely easy to take camping with you like I said i'm going to buy another one because they're easy to transport in my camping totes and easy to put away. I paid about twenty five dollars for this and I would definitely say it's worth the money comparing to other things that I have purchased at our solar powered and for camping. ... show more

I really like this light! While I’ve only used it for two weeks (daily use at a camping event), and I can’t speak to its durability, I was very impressed with it’s design, and pleased with it’s length (I got the 39’). One of my favorite features was the ability to reel the light string back into its housing - that’s a great feature! The lights were light enough to for a conversation area under a tent without being glaringly bright for a camping event. I will definitely use it again. The length of the light is AWESOME, but because of physics, the far end of the string is a little dimmer than the end closest to the battery/solar panel. It is DEFINITELY waterproof, and survived some drenching and windy thunderstorms. The solar panel seems more than adequate for all-night use (late-nighters tended to forget to turn it off), and recharged fully during the day even under cloudy conditions. However- it gets 4/5 stars because of the imbedded handle on the housing looked dubious- a hinged plastic half-circle that seems like it’ll be the first thing to break, and doesn’t allow one to easily hang the light with the solar panel facing outward. I definitely cursed it when I was installing it on my tent, and I predict a future in which the housing is hanging from the light string instead of the handle. (FTR, Luci-brand lights have a hanging loop that is very useful AND sturdy - this light needs to ditch the plastic handle and add a hanging loop). Would I buy this again? Would I love it if they made it with color-changing LED lights? Should they change the stupid plastic handle for a sturdier hanging loop? Almost certainly, definitely, and for god’s sake, yes, do it already! Overall, this is a good product. ... show more

I used it for camping and strung it through my tent(about 20' or so), and messed with the remote to change different modes, and I was pretty impressed with it. In my opinion, its a really good solid product that's good for outdoor use. It really changed the ambiance of my tent also. Plus, the brightness really surprised me and all the colors were pretty cool. I like how its solar-powered and also a phone charger. ... show more

I attend a lot of festivals & take pride in making my camp vibey. I purchased 2 sets of these string lights, they line my 10x10 canopy perfectly. This was the 4th time I’ve used them at a 4-day festival. For the most part I love them, battery life is mostly sufficient. However, for whatever reason one set does all settings just fine (colors, warm white, different strobe/flash patterns, dimming/brightness, etc.) but the other set will only do warm white: nothing else. I tried manually & with the remote, unfortunately only the one set worked properly. Pros: prior to leaving I always use the USB cable to charge the batteries to full, I position them to absorb sunlight during the day & only turn them on at night. They survived a downpour which makes me confident they’re water proof. The mechanism to wind them back up is super easy as long as you don’t let them get tangled when they’re fully pulled out. The length is satisfactory & the remotes are super convenient for changing settings with ease. Also a perk: the main compartment doubles as a flashlight or spacial lighting which makes setting camp up in the dark a lot easier. Cons: they still died by day 3 (even getting direct sun exposure on the solar panel all weekend.) I hoped the solar design would help them recharge but it seems the battery life that lasted is as a result charging them to full before-hand. It’s nice to have the other set to brighten up our camp but it’s frustrating that the other one won’t do colors or the other various settings.. Oh well. This is an unusually long review because I know many other festival-goers & frequent outdoor travel/campers who also struggle to find versatile, convenient ambient lighting. Overall happy with the purchase. I hope others find this review helpful! ... show more
