I use this with a clamp-on light socket so I can basically put this fan anywhere at any angle. The extension is a must-have. It's quiet and powerful. My only complaints are that you only get 3 white light modes that go from way too bright to surface of the sun. I probably wont ever use the light unless I'm looking for something. It would be nice if the power were on a slider and the light were warm instead of white. Also if the power is shut off and restored, the light comes on. I would rather the light only come on when I command it to directly. The remote works fine, and I like that you can wall-mount it because why would you ever move it from one spot? ... show more

This light/fan celebrates a bright dimmable led light, the airflow directly under fan feels ok. The quality of build is what you might expect for an oddity. The remote is useful and quality. The price is steep but is less than hiring an electrician to install a traditional ceiling fan.

I've seen the socket fan on television for sometime now. I have a large closet but there's very little circulation in there. I remove the recessed light and put this in and it works like a charm. It has an extender so use you will insert that first and then you'll screw in the main part of the fan to that. The fan blades have a slide and click technology which is very easy and the instructions are clear on all of that. The fan is quiet and has 3 speeds which the first speed are lowest is terrific in myspace but I could see you could actually do it up to the highest speed if you had a larger space or whatever. I'm really glad I purchased this and I may get one from my laundry room as well. ... show more

It’s an amazing invention. Works perfectly, in my can lights that would have a tendency of getting too hot. No more worries.. the light and fan has three settings. You could paint your room at night time, using the third setting of the light. I love this invention. Flush to the ceiling too and provides great air movement, with any setting. I’m don’t think it is UL approved though, but I could be wrong. Otherwise I would rate this product five stars. ... show more

    • Clever Invention 🔥
My sis turned me into this fan. I was concerned it would be a poor execution of a good idea. NO! This thing spins in the quietest and breeziest way. The price is reasonable and the thing really worked. I was also worried it would be too loud as it is going to live over a work station in a Editing Bay Studio. No this thing is quieter than the small desktop Vornado fans. I would never have considered installing a fan in this studio for all of the above reasons and because traditional fans leave a big footprint. TIP perfect if you have a standard Edison screw base. Make sure the socket is mounted solidly to the ceiling. Any wobble will be the cause of a wonky light socket, not the fan. I recommend using the extender to allow for more airflow down. Installs in about 3 minutes, but I could have installed in 2 if I rushed. ... show more

    • Mixed feelings, not good for all fixtures
The media could not be loaded. In theory, yes, this is a great fan for an area that has just the standard ceramic bulb socket in the ceiling. If you see my video, this is an attempt to use this using the socket from a bedroom ceiling light fixture, that comes with three sockets, and it’s on a slant with the vaulted ceilings. So if you were wondering if that would work for you in your home, watch the video and be the judge. I think what conclusion I came to visit. I was just going to purchase a ceiling fan for my daughter and have my brother install it in her bedroom. But again in a little workshop area or a garage or a basement or a room that just has the single ceramic bulb. Sure it would be great but most places where you might want to use that aren’t going to have that. The blades are plastic and I will admit they’re not as long or as thick as I thought they would be. The fan had three speeds and it does pump out some air so I guess size doesn’t always matter. Watch the video and think about your application carefully and then you be the judge. The price was just OK with me for what you got, and the practicality of being able to use it. It is cheaper than purchasing a full on ceiling fan. ... show more

The unit is easy to use. I have the recessed light fixture, and the included extender brought the unit to slightly below ceiling level. It close enough to the fixture I was getting a humming when I ran the fan on high. I decided to purchase another extension, and add it to the unit. Using the two extensions increased the air flow, and eliminated the hum. After my experience I would suggest using the included extender on a flat mount to see if the airflow also increases. ... show more
