  • Quality machine Quality machine
I’ve waited purposefully to review this printer by Longer (lk5 pro). After nearly 300 build hours on it and tons of learning curves I can say it definitely has no issues printing. I’ve printed PLA, PETG, ABS and even the notorious TPU filaments through this and though there is some trial and error involved I can say it’s solid. Its stable heat range seems to max at about 250c with the bed able to stay stable at 90c after that it has problems and fails. I am unsure if putting an all metal extruder on with allow it to get hotter for those exotic filaments but as of now I have no need to check that. The build plate is pretty large too at 300D300W400H allowing those bigger and taller prints to fit. It comes pretty much together with just a little bit of build work involved by fairly simple, the hot bed plate is also fairly nice and seems to do a good job although I’d recommend the first print you do, be a scraper as the metal scraper provided can easily dig and gouge the plate if you’re not careful. It does seem to leave a bit of ghosting residue but most of the time a good wipe with 91% propylene alcohol does the trick. (Pro tip keep you bed warm when you do this) Now for the cons, the bed leveling is rough which is normal on most printers. Manually turning the nobs is barbaric in my opinion and with a machine that is a make it or break situation, literally. Prints turn bad if you’re off .2mm sometimes depending on the detail even .1 makes a huge difference and to rely on a piece of paper and my own judgement is crazy in this day and age. Luckily you can buy a autolevel sensor called a BLTouch. However be warned the information on this is very difficult to navigate. You will need firmware from longer which you request via emailing them. Then you will need pronterface software to both enable and calibrate the leveler to your machine. That’s after you become an electrician and wire the sensor into your main board which can brick the printer if you are careful and ground the sensor incorrectly. And there is a dozen main board designs so you have to be careful not to read the wrong schematic as well. I will say the customer service is top of the line though, and helped me through all of my troubles so don’t turn away or get frustrated if something doesn’t go how you wanted it too. They will help you along the way and are very friendly in doing so. In closing it’s a great beginner printer at a good cost point and is highly upgradable as well, for the price you’re getting such a good. Buy an enclosure for it!!! I cannot stress it enough these plastics thrive in them and it makes such a better quality print. Hope all this helps and have fun! ... show more

  • A Game-Changer for 3D Printing Enthusiast. A Game-Changer for 3D Printing Enthusiast.
I recently purchased the Longer LK5 Pro 3D Printer, and wow this machine has completely transformed my 3D printing experience! From unboxing to my first flawless print, every step felt intuitive, efficient, and downright exciting. Here’s why I’m blown away: Build Volume & Precision: The massive 300x300x350mm build plate is a dream come true. I’ve printed everything from intricate cosplay props to functional household items without worrying about size limitations. The dual Z-axis and upgraded extruder ensure consistent layer quality, even on tall prints. My detailed miniatures came out crisp, with zero layer shifts or wobbles. Ease of Use: Assembly was a breeze! The pre-assembled design meant I was up and running in under 30 minutes. The auto-leveling feature (bless this!) saved me hours of frustration—no more manual bed adjustments. The color touchscreen is super responsive, and the UI is beginner-friendly. Even my first-time-printing friend could navigate it without help. Print Quality: The prints are *stunning*. Using PLA and PETG, I achieved smooth surfaces and sharp details right out of the box. The heated bed adhesion was perfect—no warping or lifting, even on marathon 20-hour prints. The resume-after-power-failure feature also saved me during a sudden outage. **Sturdy & Quiet:** The all-metal frame feels industrial-grade, yet the printer runs quieter than my microwave! I could work in the same room without distraction. The filament runout sensor is a small but genius addition—no more ruined prints mid-job. **Customer Support & Value:** Longer’s customer team was quick to answer my (admittedly nitpicky) questions. For a printer in this price range, the LK5 Pro punches way above its weight. Comparable models cost hundreds more for similar specs. ... show more

  • Garbage product,
The product is garbage! It is a paperweight on my desk. Assembly was fine, but software compatibility was not as advertised, and 3d printing of “installed” examples was an epic failure; the machine prompted me to reboot, which I did to no avail. I reached out to their support via email twice; no response; crickets. This is another half-baked Chinese company that cranks out a substandard product that they don’t support. Don’t be a fool like me. DO NOT PURCHASE A LONGER PRODUCT!!! ... show more

software is intuitive and works well even if you’ve never used a slicer before. There's a small learning curve, but nothing overwhelming. Pros: Fast, painless setup Good print quality for the price Quiet operation Beginner-friendly software Cons: Build volume is a bit limited If you're new to 3D printing and want something reliable, compact, and not intimidating, this is a fantastic pick. Highly recommended for hobbyists and beginners. ... show more

  • Size does matter.
Big, very big. Great for printing cosplay items and masks/helmets. The prints are very high quality, the layers are so thin you can't see or feel them. Great for functional parts, struggles with small figurines, mainly the hair and fingers. Heats up pretty fast, even in cold weather, the nozzle has no issues keeping the temp perfectly stable. Durable, I tried printing on a shirt and it got caught up in everything and made grinding noises, but the noise went away after a reset. Had a print warp and the nozzle knocked into it, knocking the entire bed several inches, yet the nozzle was fine and nothing got bent. Another print came loose and stuck to the nozzle while it ran, injecting PLA into the nozzle enclosure and covering everything, yet it was easily removed by pre-heating the nozzle and letting the PLA soften to remove it. I hate the leveling knobs, they are inconsistent and can change tension based on room temperature, but never move around during printing unless there is a big temperature change between springs. I've bought 2 so far, one had a warped bed, which sucks, but still works because the filament fills the gaps in the first couple layers, what a pain to level though. ... show more

  • I recommend fully! I recommend fully!
I have 4 fdm and 3 resin printers and this is my new fav. I am building another 3d Printed R2D2 and will buy 2 more of these. At 300x300x400mm print surface its the perfect size, and an amazing price. Took 20 min to assemble 10 minutes to level with a feeler gauge I bought from Harbor Freight, it printed a test print perfect on my first print. The best part of this printer is most printers when it runs out of filament (when your asleep it seams) most quality ones will resume but you must be their to catch otherwise the bed cools down and the print pops off ruining the print. This printer stayed hot for over 3 hours till I noticed allowed me to change filament, with the model still stuck to the plate. You can see the transition to black filament in picture. Dont bother with adding the auto level Bl touch this was so easy to level with a feeler gague 3 trips around then perfect HUGE prints. I recommend fully! ... show more

  • VERY poor instructions!
Havent used it yet BUT the instructions were terrible! There is alot of pictures that are black and white and dark. Almost to dark to see. There are parts included that are not mentioned in the instructions! Instructions suck! As far as the printer is concerned, its well made and sturdy but as far as the function, I dont know yet. There is alot to assemble! So far, I do not recommend it. ... show more

  • Beautiful once set up Beautiful once set up
So one thing to know about Longer printers - they are very basic. There's not fancy features to make it plug and play. That being said, once they're set up they run *beautifully* and are reliable workhorses. I bought this one because I've had an LK4 pro for years and wanted something with a larger print area. This has a huge build volume at an entry level price, a combination that can't be beaten. Unlike it's predecessor it comes with a dual cooling fan setup out of the box, which is very nice if you've got filament or a design that requires ample cooling. The springs for leveling the bed are disappointing, but a silicone spring kit recommended by another reddit user took care of that without issue. I upgraded out of the box and also added a BLtouch sensor and updated with their official firmware to implement it, the Longer official dual-z kit (to reduce sagging and such with such a large print area), hardened steel nozzle, and magnetic PEI bed. I printed the bracket for mounting the BLtouch sensor on my LK4 pro, and used a design I found online for free, although their customer support also provided me a bracket for the same purpose after i had already installed using this one. The dual z brackets are slightly different shape, and the BLtouch ABL sequence caused some issues where the screw holding one of the wheels on was crashing into the bracket, resulting in inaccurate height measurements for that whole edge of the bed. Replacing the stock m5x25mm bolt and lock nut with an m5x20mm bolt and normal nut with some loctite resolved that. The wheels for the y axis needed to have their eccentric spacers adjusted to tighten up along the track, something I discovered after many frustrating hours of not being able to get it to work. Their customer service WhatsApp support was able to guide me through figuring that out and once done it worked great. Benchy? No. I skipped straight to printing a storage unit for my older daughter's aphmau meemeows. 11x11x6". Printing slow to make sure the printer was set up well, we're now just shy of 130 hours in and it's coming along beautifully. Perfectly. I'm printing in PETG currently at 245C/80C and it looks flawless. If you're someone who is willing to actually learn what you're doing rather than mindlessly turning a machine on... These cannot be beaten. As space permits... I'll be back for another to add to my Longer machine collection. ... show more
