  • The bang for the buck is amazing, well worht the price!

I was a bit cautious about purchasing this set. There are mixed reviews on all sides of the spectrum. To add to the concern, could a set at such a cheap price really be any good? Well... it's a pretty nice set. The pans are well made, handles riveted on, good weight and feel. I have to say I'm pretty impressed! Not so much on the lids... the lids seem pretty cheaply made. The glass itself and the medal rim are nice, but the handles are screwed on. Could just be me, but I absolutely hate that. Now for cooking; is it 100% nonstick, nope... use oil or butter. But honestly, who doesn't use fats to cook with, that's just cooking 101! I have used it for awhile now and the cook is great, from steak, fish, to vegetables, it gives a great cook and perfect crust(s). However... you will still need an egg pan. Not so much for a scramble or even nice fried egg, but you will notice this sets flaws at omelet or French eggs... But we all need a good egg pan for those! Absolutely love the set and would highly recommend, especially at this pice point! ... show more

  • Just as good, if not better, than the highly advertised hybrid pans
Number of Items: 9
So far I love these pans. I followed the product advice to season the pans. I washed all the pans with a little bit of dawn dish soap and a dawn dish brush to remove any residual chemicals and dried the pans thoroughly. I heated them slowly on medium heat (setting of 4 on my stove, others will vary I am sure). I let them take 5 min to come up to temp, then added enough grape seed oil to sufficiently coat the bottom. I let the oil stay there for 5 min before removing from the heat. Using a pair of tongs and a saturated paper towel I spread the oil around the side walls to ensure the entire inside of the pan was exposed to a bit of oil. I let it cool for 5min before transferring the oil to another pan. Then I wiped the pan out with a dry paper towel. I created almost an assembly line, starting from the larger size pans where as one pan is warming up without oil, the previous pan is in the 5min cool down so at the end of the 5min the oil is ready to be transferred to the now heated pan. Fried eggs are a still tricky for me. Not that they stick, but I haven't sufficiently found the right temp to make fried eggs turn over without tearing the whites. I tried 2 fried eggs in the 8in skillet but discovered that my turners were too large and this created a issue turning them. My 2nd attempt was in the 10in skillet and this time I think my issue was the temp was not high enough leaving the whites on the fragile side when I tried to turn them. They still came out great in both cases, they just did not look as pretty as they could have. My second test was cooking pancakes in the 10in skillet. I used the simple Sams Club just-add-water pancake mix and coated the skillet with cooking spray (the sams brand olive oil variety). I used a portable Nuwave induction heating coil and set the temp at 275F. I have to say these were some of the best pancakes I have ever made. They stayed golden colored and I never ran into a situation where the 3rd+ pancakes cooked much faster and started to get dark brown. Instead they were golden with crispy edges. Last night I used their 12in saute pan (sold separately but similar to the smaller one in this set) to make smoked sausage and cabbage which caramelized well. I also used the sauce pot to make Zatarans Red Beans & Rice with some smoked sausage and also came out with no issues. So far I am really enjoying these pans. If I run into any issues down the road I will update this post. If in 6months you see no update, just assume everything is still working fantastic. ... show more

  • How about better instructions?
Number of Items: 14
Although I JUST got it (Amazon , give us a few days to USE the product you want is to review) I did use it but I had to search the internet for instructions on using Snow Clad and found out how to season them and information regarding the use of salt in cooking as salt could damage the pans. (those of us from the North know what salt does to cars) There is a card that states to use medium heat. I did use it to make both fried and scrambled eggs and am very please with the result as it was very easy to flip the eggs and to clean up. I am looking forward to cooking other things. ... show more

  • great value, great quality
Number of Items: 10
Love these pans!!! They are very good quality. While they are a hybrid of cast iron and stainless steel, they are not really heavy like cast iron. As I get older it is harder to handle cast iron and le creuset cookware due to how heavy they are. I got the $169 set and I cannot believe how great of a value these are compared to other brands of hybrid cookware. ... show more

I really like them. Due to the hybrid of stainless and cast iron it take a bit of getting used to. Yet once you season your pans and get used to the settings of temperature to use. I am very pleased. Been using my big wok for a while now. So when I purchased this set. I already made my decision. Plus I had two steamer tops that fit the pots perfectly. Gonna make soup and steamed dumplings in a few weeks. Very excited to have these pots and pans. After the kitchen remodel. I am starting a blog cookingforthemob.com I can't wait. Purchased the domain name and I have my phone camera pod thing that tracks my movements. So cool...! Anyway probably be next year for the pod cast. So look for me then. Be blessed 🙌 😇 🙏 and thanks for the great pots and pans Salvatore 😇 ... show more
