Keep in mind it is not compatible to 5G. When it's connected to 2.4wifi it's easy to set up. Any issues call the helpdesk Number on the box and they will walk you through it. Was worth it so far!

    • Physical Installation easy. Wifi setup did not work until I disabled 5g wifi on my router.

So far it works. The wifi setup... 1. to hook up the wifi... you need to open battery cover.. 2. press the button to reset for 5 seconds. 3. on you phone. makesure you have "smart life" app installed, and logged into your wifi on your phone. turn on your bluetooth on the phone. 4. make sure your router has the 5G wifi shut off. that was the problem i had. 5. open battery cover on the smart lock.. 6. press the small button to reset for 5 seconds. you will hear 5 beeps 7. then when lock stops beeping. hit "add device" on your smart life app 8. wait.... and just leave it alone for a while... 9. come back in 5 minutes.... it should be hooked up. 10. if that did not work. go back and press the small button to reset the lock again. and try to install again on the phone. so after 4 attempts... it works... TODAY IT DISCONNECTED... STILL TRYING TO GET IT TO WORK ... GOING THROUGH THOSE STEPS AGAIN HMMMMM GRRRR ... show more

Good luck finding this device on the app, easy to install , no way to set up, when you go to add device you'll find all devices except this one, add it wont pick the Bluetooth or the WiFi signal. very poor instruction.I gave it 0 star.. return for sure!!

At first this begins like installing any other lock. They provide a video to help you with the physical installation. The screws used to secure this lock to the door are not robust - they are not thick and about 1 1/4" long - but they do screw into a more substantial part of the lock, so if you are concerned by that, then this would still be good for a side door. However, I don't see how someone could bust their way through this. After the physical installation, follow the instructions and make sure you check the bolt action! The next step is to install the app so you can set the password. There is a code to scan on the side of the box and it takes you to a page to sign up for a warranty but no link to an app. Then I found products link on that warranty site, and once I selected this lock, I found where it said "Download App Smart Life" and I looked but there were a few apps named Smart Life - so... which one? The one you want is really "Smart Life - Smart Living". Once I got past the initial set up headaches, it was fine from then on. I'll update if I find other issues. ... show more

This is one of those things that you're like, "Do I really need it?" But when you have it, you're like, "Excellent!" My husband recently installed this lock and taught our kids, 6 and 15, how to utilize it. Now we have less worry if our teen forgets his house key or if my 6 year old is trying to help me get the front door unlocked while I'm carrying bags of groceries. It was fairly easy to install and works well. We set it up to lock automatically when we give Alexa our nighttime routine command and have used the Alexa app to unlock it as needed. (Great option if you ask a friend or relative to pop by to check on a pup or do a mail collection while you're on vacay.) My ONLY complaint, and maybe I'm just being melodramatic, is the keypad layout. The 0 is off to the side, so I ended up locking myself out of the system when I kept pressing what I thought were the correct numbers. Muscle memory had me utilizing the 8 as a 0, so that was frustrating. It's a slight learning curve that I consider a bit of an inconvenience, but I'll get over it eventually. ... show more

I ordered this so my 10 year old step-son can get himself in the house when he gets home from school, if we aren't home yet. Well, the installation was literal hell. Even though we followed the instructions and even used the templates - the face of the whole entire mechanism is crooked. Oh well, se la vie. I also don't really love the touch screen feature, it takes a little bit for it to "wake up", but once it does it works fine. I guess I'm worried about cold weather and negative degrees, if that is going to mess anything up and potentially not open the lock and my poor step son can't get in the house during a snow storm or something. Also, I cannot unlock the lock from the app installed on my phone. It doesn't have clear instructions on how to use the app either, but that's a story for another day, too. We only use this at night, when we are in for the night, so there is a deadbolt on the door. We don't utilize it how it's supposed to be used. In fact, I am currently looking for one with actual buttons on it, instead of the touch screen buttons. I personally would not purchase this again. ... show more
