I don't know where to begin describing my frustration and disappointment in this item. 1 - The app is not in the Playstore and must be directly downloaded from the developer's website. When you reach the website you are treated to popups IN CHINESE. 2 - This device is impossible to install. Not "difficult". Not "frustrating". IMPOSSIBLE. 3 - Installation requires an additional hole be drilled in your door. This hole is not in a standard place and will be visible should you ever change out the lock. 4 - Did I mention the unit is IMPOSSIBLE to install? 5 - The "instructions" are as clear as mud. PRO TIP - If you are going to sell your products to English speaking people, LEARN THE LANGUAGE! Or, at the very least, hire someone to write your instructions in proper English. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I received my Smonet Smart Lock and wow we were impressed, very nice and well made. Well my husband thought the installation would be complicated but after reading the instructions our new Smart Lock was installed in less than 30 minutes. I am still amazed at everything this lock can do! You have accessibility to unlock your door manually with a key, by putting in an access code on the touchscreen, by using the TTLOCK app on your mobile phone or by fingerprint (which is my favorite). You can assign codes to trusted users (permanent codes) or guest users (temporary codes). You can allow guests to access your home by sending them a one-time specific access code by text, (which will be different for each guest). You can determine the amount of time that code will be good for; and you have the full ability to delete any code at any time you choose to deny access to any person, throughout the TTLOCK mobile app you can monitor who is coming in and out of your home, with the timestamp, and how they accessed your lock, (mobile, manually, touchscreen, IC CARD (2 included) or by fingerprint). The handles are reversible but you have to do it before installing, you can also recharge the lock via powerbank, the app shows you how much battery life is left, you need 4 AA batteries (not included). This lock also comes with a door sensor and a Wi-Fi smart hub to keep you connected and informed at all times. This lock is amazing, IT'S THE BENTLEY OF SMART LOCKS!     • I like it, but needs better description
Updated: may 30, 2021. I found out I didn't need a power cord for Gateway. I love having keyless entry. I set us all up for fingerprint. I can't figure out tho how to get the passcode to work. I set one up and when I tested it the code doesn't work. I also can't get the door to unlock from my phone when I am at home 3 hours away. I thought having the Gateway I would be able to unlock from my phone. I really do like having this door lock. We bought it for a rental cottage however there are a fee items that I dont agree with. 1. I dislike that it needs a Gateway in order to set codes etc when we are at home 3 hours away. The description is not very clear indicating it needed the Gateway so I didn't buy one. To me I needed it if I was using Alexa which we do not have. I need to let someone in for next week and am unable to create a passcode for him from my house 3 hours away so now I have to buy a Gateway, take a day off from work and drive 3 hours up to the cottage to set up the Gateway inorder for my phone to connect with the lock for what I need. 2. Last week I set my finger print when I was at the cottage and all was good. I left and when I came back I tried to use my finger print to open the door, but it wouldn't work so I had to use the actual door key instead. Hmmm. 3. I also found out that purchasing the Gateway doesn't come with a power cord which I don't understand why and think is ridiculous with the amount of money I spent on the lock and the Gateway. 4. I paid 169 for the lock now I have to spend another 38 for the Gateway and who knows how much for the power cord. Right now I have 210 into it. If u purchase this lock I recommend purchasing the one for 189 that comes with the Gateway, but I am not sure it it comes with a power cord so you still may be over 200 like myself. 5. Smonet is offering a $50 gift card since the lock can’t be used on my entry door since it isn’t weatherproof. My new lock, just like the old one, will not work if it’s misting rain outside. I even put a rigged up plastic case over it to protect from elements to No avail. If it’s damp outside you can forget about getting inside. Nothing like being soaked to the bone an hour later trying to get into your house. Someone explain to me how to get in touch with the company to figure out what to do with this lock that locks you out in the rain! Update! My new lock came in and it is working perfectly. Going a week with a messed up lock and only two hard keys was stressful! On that note, you Can Not just go to the hardware store and have keys made, you must have a locksmith make them so be aware. As far as the company goes, yes they did make good on sending me a new lock but they need a better way of communication such as a phone number to be able to call them instead of having to go through Amazon. I’ve been in touch with company and have been informed that a new lock is on the way. I will update my review when I receive the new lock. Hopefully my first one was just glitchy and the new one will be awesome! It worked really well for the first month. Then when I changed the batteries in it not so much. The ring around the fingerprint scanner keeps rotating a blue light and it won’t read fingerprints. After trying to problem solve and google search to no avail, I contacted customer support. Still have not heard from customer support, so 11 hours later I have a very expensive door handle. With the lack of customer support other than an email address and no response , I’d say stay away from this product. ... show more
