I got this door lock for my garage entry door. Most of the family comes through the garage door and then into the house and on occasion someone may leave the garage door open inadvertently. This door lock was meant for these types of circumstances. This is just for the door handle itself, not a deadbolt. The door will automatically lock after being closed for a certain amount of time, which is adjustable by you. That way in someone leaves the garage door open, you still have some sense of security knowing at least the door handle is locked and someone can not just walk into your house. I set all of our fingerprints and had everyone create a code just in case. I haven’t fully explored the app yet, but from what I have used so far it seems to be doing pretty well. Since my house is not a rental or anything, I will not be needing to program any tags or other passcodes for anyone any time soon. It does have a physical key in case it comes to that, but I would assume if the batteries are dead someone would need to use another entry point anyway, since there are only 2 keys provided. The look does look good and it is very simple. Installation was easy, except for the very cheap screws they provide with the set. One I stripped out the head, and another I snapped the head right off. Luckily, I was able to get the one screw out since I hadn’t even gotten it screwed in all the way and the other one, I was able to angle a screw around the broken one. Overall, I am happy with this lock and while I haven’t used all the functions of the app yet, I think it works really well and has done exactly what I wanted it to. I haven’t used the access point yet either as I have not found a reason why I would need to yet. Maybe someday I will and if I find it to be terrible, I will update the review to reflect that.
