Product is great! I’ve had it 2 years now and has always worked perfectly. It has some great features. Batteries also last pretty long, considering 6 people are in and out the house daily. The app is pretty easy to use the unlock and lock feature on the app is amazing for when heads are full and need to unlock the door or when your in bed and want to make sure the door is locked. I ran across a small issue but I sent and email and Nancy responded pretty quickly. Every email I received was less than 24 hours. Communication from the team is the best I’ve had from my Amazon seller. Great team and product. I did a lot of research before purchasing this lock and definitely recommend it ... show more

After several months of flawless operations, the original door lock wouldn’t open using the keypad. After contacting Hornbill, Nancy was very responsive with clear communications on how to resolve the issue. They identified the issue as a bad motor and will be sending a replacement unit promptly.

This lock is easy to install and works well with the app. It looks great which is a bonus. I ordered the additional gateway to allow remote use for my rental property. The codes can be given to renter with expiration date and time making it easy for short term rentals and cleaners. Permanent codes are also an option so it is very useful and intuitive. I believe some locks come with a gateway that works with wifi but mine was sold separately. It has been in place for two months and I haven’t had any issues. One unforeseen bonus is I was instantly notified in the app when the gateway lost the wifi connection and called the internet provider to troubleshoot and get a repair asap. This is a really nice bonus in a rental. Pay for the lock and get remote monitoring of wifi! ... show more

I like this lock. It's easy to install and program, though one of the recommended programs wouldn't load on my iPhone. It's a little annoying that this won't just work remotely over your own wireless on the app, but you need to purchase the proprietary gateway if you want to use the remote lock/unlock feature. ... show more

I had the old style on the condo I was living in and when I moved in with my SO, we decided we both loved it enough to upgrade the lock to this one. We love the little tags that make it so you don't even have to type in your code. The one thing I miss from the old style is having the keyhole cover. We never use the keys and it would be nice to make it a little more difficult for someone to tamper with it. I also love that the lock "talks" and will let you know if it locks or not. The door lock work excellent, it was no issue. Unfortunately, the mechanism stops working. I've contact to company. Customer service (Women name Nency) was great. my problem was resolve very fast and company send me a new door lock. Good job!

Very little chance of getting lock out of your house due to dead batteries or other problems. I keep the key in my pocket for peace of mind but never use it. It is so quick and convenient to lay my thumb on the fingerprint reader to unlock. The multi-factor user mode is a nice feature. The security rating may not be the highest compared to expensive alternatives. But I figure a serious burglar will be inclined to break a window anyway. And I appreciate this unit being reasonably priced. I spent some time installing this lock making sure that the bolt could move freely. I had to move the strike plate for both the door latch and the dead bolt. I suspect that critics of battery life have alignment issues putting an unnecessary load on the deadbolt servo. Otherwise, the installation wasn't too bad. The left/right and knob orientation threw me for a loop initially, but I should've paid more attention to the instructions. The Bluetooth connectivity was a little clunky. Apparently, Hornbill doesn't have their own app. Given the choice of two different apps, I chose the one with the best rating. It took several attempts to connect Bluetooth with my Samsung S22. But once connected, the setup was very straightforward. All in all, I am very pleased with this SmartLock, and I'm planning to buy another for my backdoor. ... show more
