Chicken Coop Heater / Chick Brooder $45.99 ator The 2 or 4 leg system is neat and easy to add or remove. Can be used standing up or pointing down. Has good instructions. Puts out heat pretty fast once you turn it on. It works really well, and I can't wait for new chicks this coming Spring.

This is a perfect little heater for your chicken coop. It's an ambient heater, so there's no worry about an open coil or anything. My chickens don't pay it any mind. It's really nice that you can set the temp and forget about it mostly.

I like that you can use this three ways: 1. Mount it to the wall using the provided screws and drywall anchors, 2. Use the provided legs to stand it like a little patio roof, or 3. Use two of the legs to stand it on its side. The legs attach fairly securely, though they're held in place by friction instead of clipping on. The control is very simple. Just turn the knob to the desired temperature. Each temperature, including OFF, has a resolute "click" when you turn the knob to it, so there won't be any doubt which setting you're on. There's a heat sensor on the side to monitor and regulate the temperature, so it's not constantly producing heat beyond the desired temperature. Pretty cool.

There's just one chicken left, a rooster, over at the neighbor's place. The flock of hens he once protected is gone. The owners let their chickens freely range and speeding cars were never expecting these hens to just stand there. Why did the chicken cross the road? It wasn't smart and did not understand cars. So they have just the one rooster in their coop and they don't really seem to care what becomes of him. But I do. I got this heater for him. I told the neighbors I would pay for the electricity to run it. They were not enthusiastic about it but they let me do it. So far, so good. The rooster has no other source of heat aside from his feathers. I'm hoping this heater will get him through the winter. It does seem to produce some decent warmth. My main concern is durability, how long will it function? Of course I worry it might cause a fire out there in his coop but the manufacturer offers assurances that if the heater gets knocked over that it will shut off. I hope this is true. I also hope the rooster does not knock it over on a really cold night. I tried to secure it so it won't tip over. He's pretty strong, though. One never knows. Fingers crossed.

These are great for midwestern winters. I keep a few of these going during the colder months. The chickens all sleep around them. I specifically like this brand because you can control the heat temp unlike other brands. This panel heats up very quick and adjusts to different heights for different uses. Was very easy to understand the instructions and kept our coop heated up nicely. I prefer these over the heat lamps.
